It's nice seeing stories illustrated in Lego form. Your story, thus far, is fantastic! I guess I'm just a sucker for heartwarming stories. Anyway, I look forward to seeing how the adventure continues. One small proofreading note, though: in your story, you included the line “Get the horse, laddie! Get it know or you shall face the dreadful pain of twenty thrashings!” The line "Get it know" should actually be "Get it now."
  2. We might just see a couple of the sets leak out before the 1st. Already, a couple of people are selling the sets on Ebay (though, they're also giving massive price markups) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-79008-Pirate-Ship-Ambush-Lord-Of-The-Rings-756-Pieces-King-Of-The-Dead-/251276253640?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item3a813b59c8 In any case, while I wouldn't mind picking up the ship, I'm waiting to see if it'll go on sale first. Patience does wonders at making the most of my wallet.

You would need to squint a bit, but you could find some figures on Bricklink which could pass as a irregular group of Confederate soliders: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb881c01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb466c01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb403c01

I love the idea of a 3rd, Water-based group. Between the old LEGO Troll ship and the new LOTR Pirate Ship, I've found that Castle-based ships can actually be pretty cool. Anyways, I think that you have some great ideas: they definitely have promise! I just wish I knew more about how LEGO generates new iterations of their main themes. That is to say, whether LEGO is actually willing to take in suggestions from the community.

Personally, I'd prefer if the set didn't just include a single female (who also happened to be an evil necromancer). I'd add in at least two more girls. The 1st could be a female warrior (like Max's sister) who would act as a second protagonist. The 2nd could be a female knight. That way, the sets could also appeal to both girls and boys. Additionally, I'd also love it if the next Castle include a few more fantasy elements. I just loved the Trolls from the fantasy incarnation. Not only were they unique, but I thought that it was great that the Fantasy line included more than two factions.
  6. For whatever it's worth, personally I'm a bit in awe of the creations that you folks have created. Unfortunately, though, my finances don't allow me to create MOCs which are anywhere near as epic as those which you've all created. Plus, I don't really have room for that many LEGOs in my apartment either. Nevertheless, I do enjoy occasionally dropping in to see what new creations have been crafted! Keep up the incredible work

Apparently, Game of Thrones is having a bad effect on me: my initial impression of the picture was that Gandalf, Bilbo, and the dwarves had just committed an exceptionally grisly murder and were trying to bury the evidence. It's only after reading the rest of the comments that I realized what was actually going on :/ Anyways, good job. Quite creative.

I actually had forgotten about her! Then again, that was just when I was getting into my Dark Age. Anyways, I do think that someone like her would be a step in the right direction: perhaps with a bit better made of a torso and a bit less pink, though (nothing wrong with the pink, but some variety from the norm would be welcome). For my part, I'd like to hold out hope that girls and Castle won't need to go through the Friends line before they meet. I'd just be nice if brothers and sisters--rather than being herded into the "girl's" lego world and the "boy's" Lego world--could have fun sharing the same sets and playing together.

I actually hope that LEGO accentuates this factor a little more. Despite my own love for LEGO, I have to admit that LEGO hasn't emphasized girl minifigures and sets all that much. Personally, I'd be really happy if Lego introduced some heroine minifigures (who aren't just princesses waiting to be rescued) into the Castle universe. Essentially, someone like Brienne from Game of Thrones except, you know, tailored towards LEGO's kid audience. After all, I'm fairly certain that girls would become more interested in Castle and other such sets if girls were portrayed as heroes, and not just damsels in need of rescuing.
