Bricklink minifigure question
Yes. You can check the inventory of the minifigure or set to see exactly what should be included.

10246 Detective's Office
I'd love to see a photo of this, as it's exactly what I'd like to do. Are you using only the pieces included in two sets, or some few pieces beyond that?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
The same user has posted at the Brickset forum for some time. I don't see any reason to not trust the information. I live in central Illinois and we generally refer to such places (Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, TGI Fridays, etc.) as restaurants. Granted I live in a college town; but there are numerous bars, even outside the campus area. Many serve food and most offer DJs or live music on most nights. But there are some that do neither and simply serve alcohol.

New LEGO® FUSION
I assume because the recognition software wouldn't know what it's looking at otherwise. The plate is a constant that provides a reference for color and scale.

2014 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion
"Great Vehicles" is just a term given to the City trucks; for example the recent cement mixer, dump truck, garbage truck, etc.

Duplo Disney 2013 (Planes, Princesses, and Jake)
Nice selection of parts in the large set. It's too bad more of the non-licensed sets don't use atypical colors. Also, it should be noted this isn't a Pixar film.

Why doesn’t LEGO provide any battle packs?
So the solution to a lack of large structures and vast landscapes is more minifigures? How do we know the line is in its early stages? It wouldn't surprise me at all if the second wave is the last. Remember, at its most recent, this is a ten-year-old franchise. Something brick-built like part of a wall or a ballista? Uruk-Hai Army is the definition of what you suggest and a perfectly acceptable "battle pack".

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
The set description begins "Fly the Great Eagle high above the Black Gate of Mordor where Aragorn and Gandalf the White must distract the Eye of Sauron." I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean the Eye will be in the set. But given the scene in the movie, where it seems as if Barad-dûr is just inside the Black Gate, it wouldn't surprise me.
