Mack Granite 6x4 dump truck
M_longer replied to grego18f's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingInteresting mix. Few bits from Anthem, few bits from my snow plow and rest from you. May I ask why there are still those 12 bevel gears left, they were used for driving the salt spreader, not present in a dump truck? :)

42099 - 4x4 X-treme Off-Roader
M_longer replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingA direct size comparison between new Control+ elements and their Power Functions counterparts: The C+ Hub is 5 studs high, 9 studs wide and 9 studs long. L motors is 4 studs high, 3 studs wide and 8 studs long. XL motor is 5 studs high, 5 studs wide and 8 studs long. Basically C+ XL motor is a little bulkier L one, but with several more mounting points. Both are longer (1 to 2 studs) that their PF counterparts, while other dimensions remain unchanged. The Hub is much more larger than PF battery box. We get built-in remote controll via Bluetooth, but with cost of more space used in the model. The PF motors required an IR receiver to work with remote, but it could be placed in various places in the model, even far away from battery box, thanks to extension cables, which does appeared in the C+ line so far. Thanks to @Philo, who made all C+ elements for Ldraw :)

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI wanted to have nicely chaped counterweight, that can be taken off as single piece. Now it will be a little more difficult :)

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI am almost sure that I will buy 42110 + 42095 instead of 42100... C+ hub is large. Too large. I am struggling with rear part of the body, because it must be thin as possible, due to dimensions of the hub. I am trying to recreate a loader that has almost biggest rear on the market, and there's almost no space left. I think that with next model I will stay with PF range.

large scale telescopic crane
M_longer replied to Aerolight's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI can't wait to see how you will manage bending frame, loose wheels and weight distribution between counterweights and boom.

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnother update; I am making first try on modeling the rear part of the loader, along with fitting that huge C+ hub inside. Ouch.

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMe too. The arm has been rebuilt, along with front frame, it is much more rigid now. The front lights are just placeholders, they will be changed on the end.

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIt depends on my shift at work, sometimes I spend none, sometimes I have building marathons for 8-9 hours a day :)

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMajor progress was made, the arm and bucket have now proper range of movement. Now I need to rebuild that mess into proper arm and Z-linkage:

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
M_longer replied to M_longer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThey require a little change of habits, but are much easier to integrate with model's frame. They basically become part of the frame, not an addition to it like old PFs. RC4WD Mil Spec ZXL: https://store.rc4wd.com/MIL-SPEC-ZXL-19-Tires_p_1957.html

Control + Liebherr L580 WIP
I have started making a wheel loader with using new electric parts from 42099 (two L motors, two XL motors and a HUB). The goal is to recreate a Liebherr L580 loader: So far I have a chassis that can drive around and currently I am struggling with arm movement.

42110 - Land Rover Defender
M_longer replied to 1gor's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnd again, price rised. For Poland cost of this set is 850PLN, for Germany 180€. The problem is that 850 divided to 180 does not match the actual exchange rate; 1€ is worth 4,35PLN, and price set by LEGO uses 4,72 rate :(

Forwarder mk2
I have started showing my old models on my Instagram account and people started asking about instructions for them. So here's the first one, including a revamped model from 2009: It all began in 2009 with this small model: It was inspired by forwarders of this type: Today, a ten years after its reveal, new version was created, with lots of playable features missing in the original build. The crane arm and claw works, and that's a major change from mk1, because it was not designed to do so. First version had solid axle, mk2 comes with pendular suspension on all wheels: The cab still can fit a minfig (this one was taken from 60181): The instructions mentioned above can be obtained trough Sellfy & Rebrickable: https://sellfy.com/p/t7aa91/ https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-29174/M_longer/forwarder/#comments Sample pages: Comparison with 60181: Another revamped model will be revealed soon :)
