  1. Nobody told you that you have wrongly placed U-Joints? Their middle part must be placed exactly in line with wheel turning point:
  2. Something in the middle, I think that it could be possible to change spacing to half stud.
  3. I have both of these sets. And both are worth buying and buidling. 42054 for its steering modes and motorized functions. 42069 for really, really great door mechanism and one of the best suspensions in Technic sets.
  4. Flatbed trailer built from parts used in container trailer:
  5. More than half? I am not sure, flatbed uses 481 parts, these are leftotvers:
  6. Yes. Only with parts from trailer, the truck remains untouched.
  7. Mack bought, built and.. boring? How about making a new trailer for it? Let's say that I was bored and decided to rebuild 42078 into something different. But after disassembling the trailer, I thought that it could be rebuild into different trailer. The trailer has only one function, landing gear. Operated by levers on either side of the trailer: Being built from limited amount of parts, it has one flaw - can be driven only on flat surfaces, due to minimum spacing between its frame and truck's rear: You have been warned :P And if some would like to build it, here are free instructions: https://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/42078-alt/flatbed/42078-Flatbed.pdf (Mack model made by Philo) Sample pages: After approval by Rebrickable, it will be available with parts list here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-12680/M_longer/42078-flatbed-trailer/
  8. I have finished my review of 42078 set. Lots of pictures, few comparisions with real counterparts, but only in Polish :) http://www.lugpol.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30549
  9. Yes you should. You should also check when this topic went silent...
  10. Did you used MLCad for making those instructions? Pneumatic V2 parts are available for it :)
  11. I'd go for 4L bars (or cut 3mm rigid hose) for the grille, instead of 1x2 grilles.
  12. Yeah... like with Unimog, Arocs and Xerion...
  13. Thanks :) I have made some colour changes ;) In order: Black, LBG, Red Dark Azure, Blue, Orange Yellow, White, Green Some colours are not possible to build without swapping some parts, but they look nice :)
  14. Ok, it may sound a little harsh, but... try to build something smaller. Gain experience with smaller model(s), see how parts works under weight and stress.
  15. Hmm, it seems that only few parts (like 24119, #17, #18 panels) are missing to built Dark Azure Porsche?
  16. To prevent misplacing other pins.
  17. Just buy it. There are reasons why it can't be read for free: time, work and effort put into creating that book by the author.
  18. After few months of grey age, I have finished my another Model Team styled tractor. It's a polish Ursus 912: Everything began with 42054 set and its great tires. Unfortunatelly, so far LEGO did not decided to make these wheels in smaller diameter, so everything that could be built are largest 4x4 tractors on same wheels on both axles. Or... something smaller. It started, as usual, from single picture. This one: The biggest problem I had with designing this tractor was its colour. The real ones were painted in dark yellow, and closest match in LEGO colour palette was Bright Light Orange. And it lacks most of the typical, usefull parts. Let's say that building something within limited range of parts is not so enjoyable ;) https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=1&pg=1&colorPart=110&catType=P This model was designed from scratch in LDraw: Looking for perfect dimensions: First sketches: And after lots of iterations, the final version (which was slightly modified while being recreated with real bricks, becuase I have bought some great pieces like those wrenches) The Work in Progress gallery can be found here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/M_longer/ursus-912/wip Finished model can stand on a shelf and turn wheels (they are not connected to the steering wheel though). Not too many functions, but on the other hand, my first MT tractor had same fucntions. By the way, that Renault was shown exactly 6 years ago. Finished Ursus 912: The roof can be closed: Front axle is also pendular:
  19. Veeery nice C model :) Have you considered using worm gear for rasing the fork?
  20. You noticed that in 42061 LA is mounted in oposite direction compared to this WIP model?
  21. Uhm, why? I have made wheel loader that uses two small LAs and it works fine:
  22. Ahh, rright. English. Clutch /= driving ring. No, I was saying about those white z24 gears. Internal cluthces in linear actuators will be enough.
  23. Get rid of those clutches, it will not work. Believe me, I tried :)
