  1. Another model built for LUGPol's contest I have made few purely mechanic version of it when I was a kid, but how it could look in studless? The original set had very cool mechanics, with steered wheels and articulated chassis: It worked smoothly, my model does not work as good as the original (thanks to bigger wheels and different dimensions) but it is quite good. Pneumatic circuits are simple, but arm movement is more than interesting. Let's see what Blakbird wrote about it: The boom can be lifted pneumatically. An actuator pushes to pivot the boom up and retracts to pull it down. Because the actuator rod end is not mounted to the boom itself but to a link attached to the jib, a 2 stage motion results. As the actuator extends, the jib first rotates outward because it requires less force. Once it bottoms out, the entire boom lifts. This motion is repeated in reverse on retraction. This system results in a system which mimics the motion of a system with two independent actuation circuits, but achieves it with a single actuator. Genius. Here is how it works: And if anybody would like to build this thingy, I have made instructions (styled as old ones): Instruction can be downloaded from HERE Parts list on Rebrickable And a comparission of old & new: Brickshelf Bricksafe
  2. Driving two different functions through turntable.
  3. Time. Spent on sorting and rebuilding sets/MOCs.
  4. Maybe model will be bigger some day. I am thinking about rebuilding it on 2.2 RC tires:
  5. Technique used for recreating drum's shape is very good for a Technic model. But I'd change its colours to red.
  6. This thing is almost 5 years old right now, and I finally had a chance to take a pictures comparing it to a real machine: As usual, I'd like to thank Sandvik for oportunity to take these photos :)
  7. Check routing of pneumatic hoses under the turntable. They need some room to twist.
  8. You have bought small cylinders :) Pumps have single port: They come in three versions, one 5.5L and two 6L: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=x191c01#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=99798c01#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=19482c01#T=C&C=7
  9. It is way too slow, don't you think? Also, how will look rest of the model?
  10. No idea, but mine did :) Maybe becuase it did not had that worm gear case.
  11. First version was built exactly like old set, but it had some problems with lowering the arm (whole thing was starting to shake).
  12. Does it count as a new model? It is a rebuild of earlier existing set.
  13. Sooo there is a set: Which I always wanted. Now I have my own version, built for contest held on LUGPol (about building old sets in style of new, liftarm based) Steering, bucket raising and dumping. That's all :) Works like this: Comparision with older version (click to enlarge) And I decided to make instructions for it:: Styled as old ones: Available for free HERE. Parts list on Rebrickable can be found HERE.
  14. After looking at this picture: I must ask: Isn't it too wide compared to real machine?
  15. It is quite good, but your model is build without proportions of the real tank?
  16. If anyone likes their transfer, pictures are larger than 2MB / and are 4128x2322px.
  17. It looks quite nice, but there are few thing that could be improved. Engine section has wrong proportions, grill should be higher and bumper should be placed lower: Bucket is way too small, a larger one could be built from liftarms and panels. Why have you used so much white? Real ones are red, and only white element is the cab.
  18. JUŻ. O. TO. PYTAŁEŚ. Actually, check all hoses, maybe one of them is squished somewhere and air does not flow properly? W sumie to sprawdź czy któryś wężyk nie jest zagięty lub ściśnięty, bo to może być powodem.
  19. He says that pneumatic cylinder does not lift upper section of crane arm in his set. He also says that when cylinder is not connected to arm it works smoothly.
  20. 8043, 8258 and 42008 have interesting gearboxes, and are very complex.
  21. Try looking at instructions for inspirations. There were a lot of different mechanisms used in Technic sets.
  22. XL motors will grind those z12 half bevel gears.
