    Good question. Maybe with something like this? Ring crane that will be using Lego RC tracks as turntable. Some time ago I have seen a crane that was turned by a diesel locomotive, so it could be a good start ;)

    Thank you for comments :) It's quite simple - steered axles are transverse pendular modules, and axles that are not steered are placed lengthwise. For example, undercarriage of my LTM 1300:

    Long time ago, when I introduced myself here I said that I'm thinking (well, dreaming could be a better word) about making large minifig scale lattice-tower mobile crane. It took me a lot of time to gather specialized parts for it, especially lattice modules used only in 7632 set. Of course, it couldn't be possbile to make that type of crane before gaining some experience by making smaller cranes. My first crane was small, six axle crane loosely based on Liebherr LTM 1200. It all started with it, because its steered/suspended axles were used succesfully in all my mobile cranes. Of course I couldn't make a lattice crane without required quantity of lattice parts :) I proudly present my biggest crane so far, Liebherr LG 1750 lattice-tower mobile crane built in minifig scale. As you can see, the carrier looks like massive outriggers with attached wheels. It looks that because slewing crane platform, boom and jib systems are shared with the LR 1750 crawler crane and the only way to provide similiar stability to crawler chassis was to make "four extremely rigid, folding arms". It has eight axles suspended pendulary, six of them are steered. The real machine. The recipe for a crane: Take a carrier, add slewing platform, that is fitted with three motorized winches. Those winches are powered from single rechargeable battery box and steered by three PF switches. Main counterweight trays: Derrick: Suspended ballast tray: We add all available ballast and mount it on the carrrier: Main boom: Back mast: Luffing jib: The last step requires adding some links and dozen meters of rope: The result is almost 2 meters tall crane: This configuration is based on the first image from LG 1750 PDF file. M_longer, one of the Eurobricks members. Ok, I'm glad that you like this crane, but I have only one, but in my opinion very important question: DLuders, why are you doing it again? I'm asking, because I do not see sense in posting MOCs of other EuroBricks member? It took me few months to build this crane (especially gathering those lattice parts in proper quantity took a lot of time). I also spent some time on taking pictures and filming this model. Making a proper description will also take some time. But this time it is not the problem, because you have only posted a movie. When my Liebherr R 944C Tunneling excavator appeared on EB, you have mixed some pictures in random order and some google-translated description of it. In my opinion, it wasted a lot of my work, because I did'nt had a chance to present it properly. Of course, I could make a description under your post, but what's the point of making my own topics with descriptions then? Maybe I should just upload some pictures of my bigger MOCs here, and just say : "hey look, I made this and this, now try to figure out how it works"?
  7. Thank you. The scale is ~1:19. I will not build a mountain, because these loaders are working underground, not inside mountains :D

First of all, it's not the same loader that I have built few months ago :D Some time after finishing LH517L I thought about building a fully remotely controlled underground loader (of course a Sandvik one), with Linear Actuators instead of pneumatics. I have chosen the LH209L because it is a smaller, low profile machine which can go where the larger LH517L cannot. Unfortunately, sometimes ideas must face reality. First version had 94mm wheels, four Power Functions motors, and other PF components. Lego bricks are not capable to carry lot of weight. Due to exceeded weight of bucket and engine part of the loader, where the PF components were placed, I was forced to give up. But I still wanted to make LH209L, so I decided to build smaller, Model Team version.     The real machine is a motorized vehicle with an attachment that can rapidly cut and gather several trees before felling them. Feller buncher consists of a standard heavy equipment base with a tree-grabbing device furnished with a circular saw - designed to cut small trees off at the base.

  11. I 've saw three missing sets for 1H2010. That small container truck is a hook lift truck, and uses this tipper bed (probably in dark bley): http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4080 The hook is raised and lowered by a worm gear, and it's only function of this set. The second model is buggy. With front made with using two small black panels: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87086 Front and rear axles are suspended, and front wheels are steerable by gear on the back. These tires are used on both axles: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=56891 The last model is small, three axle crane. It has steerable front axle, two stabilizers (one per side)that are mounted between first and second axle. It uses this boom: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57779 And those tires: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2346 The boom can be raised, extended and rotated. ------- Mini actuators works. There are two universal joints on the back of the 8069, and it seems that they are connected with TWO z12 black double bevel gears on the cabin's roof. Now it's clear how the backhoe will be operated :)

    I was busy lately, so I didn't had time for building. But it seems that now I'll have time for making new models :) So... I'll need a small crane for future project, and I always wanted to build a crawler crane, so this Liebherr machine was an abvious choice. The LTR 1100 is a telescopic crawler crane, that have some interesting feature: expensible chassis used as substitute for extendable outriggers. My model also got that function. There are more rules in our TrTr competition, the Genereal Rules can be found here: http://www.lugpol.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?p=100613#100613 I have made two Trial Trucks, one does not even have good photos (built almost three years ago), the second was Oshkosh HEMTT: Gallery It was powered by two XL motors, each driving four wheels. Four front wheels were steered by one PF M motor. The total weight was something about 4,7kg. I don't have a movie with it, because its drivetrain had one failure: the knob wheels used inside the front axles had tendecy to block each other. Despite of that, it was a quite good model, and maybe I will rebuild it some day, with better axles and Model Team look. A crane, probably :D

  19. I work as an electrician. Well, the cabin is not so complicated as it looks ;) Theses loaders are clean, because they are new. They will be send down into the mine in the next few days.
  20. I'm almost sure that many of you are thinking right now "What is THIS?" :) It's a underground mining loader, a machine that is almost impossible to see on the surface. I work in underground copper mine, so I see mining machines every day. The biggest problem with these vehicles is that there's very small amount of information about them in the Internet. Over one month ago I went to the Sandvik service point to ask if it could be possible to get pictures and blueprints of mining loader. I've obtained enough materials to start building. The effect can be seen below: It's a 1:20 scale model of Sandvik LH 517L underground mining loader. It's fully functional, with remote control and pneumatics filled from external manual pump. Real machine: And model. General view: The chassis is driven by one PF XL motor, and steering is achieved by one PF M motor.   21. Oh come on... It's not an exact copy... front windshield is different, and it doesn't have bumpers and exhaust tips (maybe because author of this "MOC" doesn't have enoguh pieces to make a perfect copy of Misterzumbi's VW?)
  22. I used two receivers, first operates drive and steering, second has only one M motor connected to it, (responsible for extendind the outriggers). Using multiple receivers is possible, but as I said, I like those switches ;)
  23. I was sure that you will ask "few" questions about it :) Look at the mirrors, air filters and fuel tanks ;) Yes, it's quite strong. Of course the frame is bent a bit, but it will not break down ;) No, I bought them from my friend. He also has a shop on Bricklink :) Everyone like them ;) It's very simple: I used two Light Brick 1 x 4 with Twin Top Lights These stickers were cut from 8265 and 7774 sticker sheets These red cylinders aren't longer than other cylinders used in this truck. I used them because they are... red ;) Hidden functions (second axle raising and wheel lift) are using new, round ended Trans Light Blue cylinders. Front and rear stabilizers are using square ended yellow cylinders Yes, the air escapes through the pneumatic switch when the boom is going down. You can see (and hear :D) it on the movie, when the auto compressor is turned on. There is no counterweight, and I have no idea why it works without it :D I also like them ;) It's this part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp...rID=22&in=A The manometer is tilted by 90 degrees to fit behind those panels, but it doesn't matter. Air tank is mounted on the RC motor inside the sleeper. I will take the sleeper apart to make some reinforcements, so I can take some pictures of internal mechanics during the rebuilding. Well, it was one of the main goals to make the whole truck look realistic as far as possible, and in my opinion switches placed above the rear axles looks much better than four IR receivers. I didn't count, but I can tell you one thing about whole tubing hidden between rear axles: It's a mess :D I didn't cut pneumatic tubbing to appropriate lenghts, so it looks more like a spaghetti than nice and clean pneumatic installation. Where? Here and there ;) You've forgot about the main switch. It's also a pole reverser :) Correct. I could use more of them but as I said, switches looks better. 14 wheels. Lifted axle also has tandem wheels. These are normal, 62.4 wheels. Maybe they are hard to find because I've bought most of them? ;) The outriggers are quite complicated, because there are four pneumatic tubes, which are bent when the outriggers are going outside and inside the truck body. The whole mechanism works surprisingly well. I used: 176 Red, 14 Light Bluish Gray, 20 black, 2 Dark Bluish Gray and 2 Chrome Silver cheese slopes. Sorry, it's not for sale :P But this Kenworth will be not taken apart. It will be showed on LugPol's exhibition in June together with my Liebherr L 580 Loader and not-yet-built model in 1:17 scale (probably a Liebherr bulldozer) :) Thank you very much for the very possitive feedback :)
  24. I proudly present my third model built in 1:17 scale. It weights over 4kg's and it's my biggest MOC so far. It's a rotator tow truck, with front based on Kenworth W900 truck: General view: Driver's cab: Almost-like CAT engine: This model is fully functionall, it's powered by one Rechargeable Battery hidden inside the sleeper. Steering is achieved by one PF M motor, whole truck is driven by two PF XL motors. Here we can see the main switch, when it's turned on towing functions can be used, and the crane light bar is flashing. The whole pneumatic instalation consist: - compressor with two small pumps, powered by one RC motor, turned on/off by pressure switch (it looks almost like this switch - 4 red pneumatic cylinders used for raising the crane boom. - 2 pneumatic cylinders used for raising the wheel lift arm - 1 pneumatic cylinder used for tilting the wheel lift - 1 pneumatic cylinder used for raising the second axle - 4 pneumatic cylinders used to stabilize the truck (two in front outriggers, 2 on the rear) - 1 Manometer, which shows air pressure in the whole installation - 1 air tank Almost all function switches are hidden above the rear axles: From left: crane rotating/ winches / boom raising / wheel lift raising / wheel lift tilting stabilizers / second axle raising / boom extending Raising the crane: PF M medium motor is used for extending the boom. Stabilizers: Outriggers are extended by one PF M motor. Crane is rotated by one PF M motor.
