  1. Ooo, that is an old one! Some of the very old tags were created by previous/retired staff, so their purpose is lost to time...
  2. When I was a child and I wanted to build something very big, I did have to settle for it being more than one colour, and having to use printed parts that might not match the theme, and using LEGO that had been manufactured in the 70s and had taken a little bit of sun damage. It didn't discourage me from building the thing and sometimes we got inventive to make the build work (say, a castle with different coloured towers etc). Truly, I only learned that is was something to be upset or ashamed over when I joined the online community (which at the time was mostly ten years or so older than me and Male, with a percentage of those my age. Who were also Male mostly building Bionicle, Halo tributes and amassing Clone/Storm Trooper minifigures). By that time, I could go to a PaB wall and get a lot of parts and I had the money to do it too, so it wasn't a big deal and I still cheerfully shared old photos of childhood builds. I found when displaying alone at a comic con (the only LEGO presence in place) where I brought along a big bin of clone parts, the children didn't care too much about matching colours either. But that is just anecdotal.
  3. There is a sort of master list in one of the staff sections which is more of a reference/source for tags and tagging for staff. The special tags are awarded for various reasons like contest prizes or helping staff. Some of them are in-jokes between long term community members or related to sadly defunct projects on the site. Like Member Titles, they are given out but not on request

I thought it fit and I had to check things were working didn't I? Enjoy.

Yes, and it works for me too.

Wow, you really captured it in LEGO brick form and minifig scale. That would look excellent in any town. Thanks for sharing
  7. Just a little detail, but the pressure dial in the Steampunk Inventor's gear would look great on the instrument panel/dashboard of an adventure vehicle and the legs would not look out of place in a custom adventurer figure. It also depends on the flavour of adventure you like, but the brown "paper hat" would look perfect for characters with a military background. (Saw it in a post about online PaB/BaM parts).
  8. Hey peoples: It would be kind of great if you could tell us a real reason for changes especially with such new/low post count accounts. Thanks

I always use the Admin Panel part? I think it gets muddy on staff profiles who has authority to do what, but it's the same way I apply tags to members. No problems We can have a great laugh as a community sometimes but I forget that things I learned/lived happened a long while ago now! (E.g. My Goat Tag is a long running in joke)
  10. That is a very atmospheric build. I also love those technic gears as wall carvings. Thanks for sharing

That is a Member title, those get given by different staff to members for whatever reason takes their fancy. Essentially, if you get noticed for something positive/funny a by staff, they add a "title" to your profile. Mine is currently "Likes Chess" because of my contribution to the Eurobricks Brickworld Collab last summer. I have given some in the past that backfired a little , I have also given them out for kind people, cool builds, interesting things... It is like the extra member tags. Just a little bonus for active members.
  12. It's quite clear why it is in place. Ten posts isn't a difficult total achive.
  13. Welcome to the forum, it is always nice to see more MOC builders. I hope your boys keep enjoying LEGO for a long long time with you.
  14. Another 2025 thread, with the old posts split here.
  15. This post will end up landing wherever once split the posts from the discussion from 2024, but it looks a lot tidier to have a 2025 thread now.
  16. Yea, this really doesn't need to be bumped @Renny The SpacemanI think you need to check the last date a post was made in a thread before you post. If there is a pre COVID date, just don't post. Good rule of thumb.
  17. Indeed, once upon a time there would be an advert page in The Beano, a promotional flyer in the newsagents that sold LEGO (those were such treasured places in my childhood!). Now there are lots more places to advertise, but there are also new rules to work within.
  18. I would love some theme banner concepts for action themes
  19. You really only need one post/topic. So this one can stay live.
  20. Going to do a bump. I have been building a lot of my collected sets. The new 1x2 click socket brick is something I wished existed when I first started Exo Force MOCs. Fortunately, I have bought a lot of Dreamzzz sets so I have a lot to work with. The cauldron halves are also brilliant parts, I have a lot of ideas for using them. Finally: The raven from this wave is just lovely.
  21. I have one of the Elves minidolls very worn on my housekeys (I need to retire her I think), most of my daily use bags have some sort of Brick keyring on at least one zip-pull. I have something LEGO on nearly all my bags .Also, all of my family have been gifted varied LEGO keyrings over the years; sometimes they even ask for a new one to replace the worn out figures. I have also turned a few of the brick keyrings into pendants on necklaces.
  22. I suppose that the difference for me here is I primarily MOC, so all purchases are to supply my builds, much as new pens or paints supply someone who has art as a creative outlet. I am glad you are donating, just sending the bricks to a plastic munching recycling plant is truly not in the spirit of the bricks. They last for so long, 40 year old sets will combine with the one I purchase tomorrow or next week (month, year...) I am sure the children who receive those toys will get much joy from the gift. I fully recognise this need to downsize though, with my collecting Diecast cars. A small model would cost me less than a Starbucks coffee, have no calories (unlike a chocolate bar) and provide the little serotonin burst that makes modern life more bearable. However after a while they build up and get in the way/gather dust. So I sort them all through my criteria (Do I collect this specific model/livery?) and then I either donate to a charity or like most recently, gave a young family I know a nice box of cars and trucks to play with. It is rather nice to see them when we bump into each other and the youngest boy is cheerfully clutching one of the cars I gave them (he adores cars). Thanks for sharing your insights.
  23. If it will deeplink, it should be fine

The Reviewer's Academy is a project on EB to help people learn to create a certain standard of review. However anyone can post a review of a set if they wish, membership of the academy is not compulsory or a barrier to posting reviews.

@Jim is this something you could help with? Or any of the admin team
