  1. Honestly I think the proportions look great. Minifigures themselves are weirdly proportioned, so I've always thought Minifigure scale buildings and such would be too. I feel like it fits with the LEGO vibe and aesthetic. Personally, if I wanted a perfect replica of the tower I'd buy the Weta environment, or something similar. This looks perfect for a LEGO version of the tower.
  2. Has anybody gotten this yet? It looks pretty nice and I love notebooks, but I'd hate to waste points on it if it's just a standard cheap notebook.
  3. Ahhhh I see. I didn't remember seeing a set go "sold out" and come back before, so that's on me.
  4. I just noticed last year's Winter Village Station is listed as sold out on LEGO's website. I thought these sets usually lasted two years? I prioritized the train this year because I thought that one would retire sooner than the station.
  5. Oo I really like the idea of that last one! I've been hoping a DAtDA classroom might be part of the next wave, as we have a few of the teachers for it now (Quirrel, Lupin, Moody, and Umbridge), but nowhere for them to teach!
  6. I went almost three hours after opening, and they still had quite a few packs left behind the counter. It looked like two cases, one still looked sealed and mine looked to be the third or fourth out of the other.
  7. Oh that's fantastic! I literally just made an offer on one on eBay too, so now I'll just retract that and wait patiently.
  8. If that's for the US that's fantastic! It'll be a perfect time to get the Great Hall!
  9. Do we have any word yet on when the pack will be appearing in Barnes and Noble stores in the US? I haven't had much time to follow news on it since it was said it was coming to there, so sorry if this has already been answered.
  10. Maybe the side of the Chamber of Secrets rock wall could have the same Technic connectors as the Great Hall? It shouldn't look too wrong to have the Whomping Willow extension, for instance, come out of that side, if the rocks are done right. Maybe have the end have a tan wall coming from behind the rocks, so it blends easily.
  11. That looks incredible! I've tried to build Hogwarts in similar fashion several times, but none of my attempts even hold a floating candle to this! Can't wait to see what else you have in store!
  12. Legomaster34 replied to eliza's post in a topic in LEGO Town
I've had an idea to build this exact same building (bookstore with an upstairs apartment), and it's so cool to see someone who beat me to it! It looks great, especially the colored windows on the storefront.
  13. Bionicle is for sure my number one. That theme was my childhood. But as for actual system themes, it's a three-way tie between the Middle-earth themes (I group them together), Harry Potter, and Pirates!
  14. That actually doesn't seem bad for the parts, and even on its own seems like a fun set! I might pick that up and either use if for pirates parts, or I might add it to the amusement park as a kiddy roller coaster.
  15. I'm definitely up for a huge D2C ship if there's no full theme!
  16. I really like that Aragog set! That one (along with Quidditch Match) is going to be the first set I get, for reasons I mentioned earlier, so I'm glad it came out looking good! That head construction in particular looks interesting, and I always love getting little trees to add to the forest.
  17. I noticed too that there was nothing on the box art, so I figured I'd have to mod it myself. I was just wondering if any train builders had started figuring out how to do so. (I'm checking out the thread in the train form right now: I hadn't even thought to look there.)
  18. Quick question to those with some more train experience: based on what we've seen of it how easy would it be to add power functions to the Hogwarts Express? I have exactly zero train sets, and my experience with power functions is limited to powering the Fairground Mixer, but I'd love to set up the Hogwarts Express with some track and some power.
  19. Really excited to see the Aragog set. I'm planning to get that one, along with the Quidditch set, first on a trip to the LEGO Store, since the first time I ever went to that store back in 2011 I got the Forbidden Forest and Quidditch Match sets (and a CMF, so I'm glad I'll be able to get a Harry Potter one of those this time too!) so I think it'd be fun to get the remade sets this time. (Aragog takes place in the forest, so close enough for me!)
  20. If it's the one I saw on Instagram it's just a cropped and zoomed in image of the previous, fuller image. It does make it a bit easier to see a few more details though.
  21. It is a great little set, and especially for the Minifigures you get! The tree is simple, but it is nice to throw in with bigger sets to add some scenery. And to get not only the main hero and villain in one cheap set (the latter of whom had only been previously available in one of the most expensive sets of the theme), but also the "big-fig" character, and an exclusive character? It was a great value for that alone.
  22. I have Flying Lesson which I got as a birthday present back in 2003, Quidditch Match, and The Forbidden Forest. And the reason I only got those last two is for the same reason as you.
  23. Every little scrap of new info just gets me more and more excited for this theme! Whether the D2C ends up being part of the castle, the whole castle, or whether it connects to the smaller sets (which I do hope for personally) or is its own standalone set, I'm all in for this theme this time around! I'm still bummed that for as huge of a Harry Potter fan as I've always been, I've only gotten three sets during the theme's entire past run. I won't be missing any this time!
  24. Honestly I just want to see Pirates come back in pretty much any capacity. So long as the sets are well designed I'll even take rehashes (I loved the 2015 theme for instance), though I would still like to get something new. Personally I'd like to add my voice to wanting more fantasy elements. Something kind of like what Castle did in 2008, but with Pirates. so yes to islanders with some magic powers, and ghost/skeleton pirates, and of course sea monsters! I think that would add some new life to the theme.
  25. That's really cool! Makes me wish we could get the Pirates theme back with the same variety as the original sets.
