Loosely based off of 7877 (http://brickset.com/...boo-Starfighter), but built 75-90% from scratch. Enjoy!
  2. I know this question may have been asked before, but does anyone know when the (two?) new UCS sets will be revealed?
  3. My favorite would be 10225 R2-D2, as it is the most interesting UCS set that has as just as much prequel relevance as it does OT, and you can mod the legs to make his pose in three leg mode more realistic.

Very awesome, love the PT, this excellent model does that interesting vehicle justice!
  5. I prefer the PT, so I try to collect mostly sets from those movies, however given how those films are hugely under-appreciated LEGO of course doesn't release many sets from that trilogy, except the occasional large Republic Gunship or UCS General Grevious or Jedi Starfighter. I mod most of the sets I buy, and plan on building MoCs designed by other people by looking at either instructions or just taking my best shot by simply looking at the main picture. I collect OT too. I think when I'm no longer a student I'll be able to build MoCs designed by other people that are larger UCS models such as this Venator http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=37663, or just design my own. I might also like to build UCS podracers and other UCS sets from the prequels. Then when I have all of my prequel collection complete I might focus on the OT, or maybe do Lord of the Rings dioramas instead.
  6. Hello, I modded 10225 so that the two side legs go back further, and also so the third leg comes out further from the body so as to make it more realistic to the movie. I am posting this not just because I am admittedly proud of how much work this took me (more than you might realize, but still nothing special, I know, lol), but also because I want some advice as to how strong the designs for the legs are. But before I get into that, here are the pictures of the 99% finished product (a couple of unimportant bricks are missing, but I don't plan on posting pictures of the 100% finished model). Here is a picture of how I modded the rear legs: As you can see, there is a long technic beam that runs through almost all of each rear leg, and in the original set, there is a brick-technic beam hybrid part (this piece: http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=3702) that runs across the top of the leg just under the two top sets of slopes, where this first technic beam joins to the middle of using a red axle. I removed that brick/technic beam, and instead placed a bunch of pure technic pieces plus a couple of bricks to give the long technic beam as much strength as possible. It was even more important at this point that this long beam was rigid and strong because it was the piece that would end up preventing the legs go back too far by hitting against an open technic 4x4 brick (this piece: http://brickset.com/parts/4153798 ). What I would like your advice on is, do you think that that long beam is connected strongly enough to the top of the leg so that it will not bend or become loose due to the wieght of the enitre set, even after many years, even decades, of the set being in three-leg mode, and being changed to and from three-leg mode to two-leg mode. Also, I hope this helps anyone who wants to mod their R2-D2 like I did! :) Any help would be appreciated. :)
  7. Hello, I'm trying to build a diorama based on the duel on Mustafar in Episode III, basically the part where they're on objects floating over lava, and I want the base to be 40 studs long and 24 studs wide. I also want it to be strong enough to pick up by either two opposing edges without it collapsing or bending significantly. I have two designs, one which is 3 layers of pure plates organized to support eachother, and one which is composed of 20 technic open frames with holes on every side. I've attached two LDD files, one for each design,, and I'd like to know how strong you think each one would be, and which, if any, would be stable enough to transport around very frequently. Thankyou. *NOTE: I intend to put large plates on the one composed of technic frames to create more stability. MUSTAFAR2.lxf mustafar duel base.lxf
  8. Ugh. I would have a mixture of great excitement and annoyance if either the Slave i rumor or the Falcon rumor is true. I would love to have either of them, especially the falcon, but why can't LEGO just try larger scale UCS prequel sets (not the grevious model, don't think he was a popular enough character to sell anyway, though I loved him, and the Jedi Starfighter was flawed in too many ways, which could both explain why neither of them sold well). For example, why not try the Venator. Such a gorgeous ship from such an awesome scene. But I guess I'll just MoC them when I'm no longer a student and can afford to do so.

I'm on the fence about this one. The shape is great, I like the figs a lot (though I'm not sure I would bother displaying them with the Sandcrawler, pretty sure based on the cuusoo crawler they're not quite to scale), however I have a thing about flat tiles sticking out where the rest is covered in studs (because it's not really level, and therefore, not accurate, and I love models being as accurate as possible). Still looks really great. I just wish LEGO would release more sets on this scale (or hopefully even bigger) based on the prequels, which I prefer.
  10. Though this will probably never happen due to the world's inability to appreciate the prequels, I would like to see a lot more UCS prequel ships and stuff on a 10179 scale. For example, a UCS venator, at least as big as the UCS 10030 Imperial Star Detroyer, a UCS minifg scale prequel-version slave I, a UCS republic gunship (though that 2013 one may be big enough for me), a huge UCS AT-TE, at least two UCS podracers (Anakin and Sebulba's), a UCS ARC-170, two UCS ETA-2 class interceptors (Obi-Wan's and Anakin's), a huge UCS invisible hand, UCS versions of the two speeders in the speeder chase from Episode II, larger-scale UCS Naboo starfighter, UCS geonosian fighter, huge UCS hailfire droid, huge UCS AAT, huge UCS republic cruiser, huge UCS sith infiltrator, huge UCS gungan sub, and a huge UCS royal Naboo cruiser, in chrome.
  11. I noticed that the 2013 UCS x-wing's engines are each one long rod, however both the studio models for red five x-wing (( http://www.hollywood...-auction-356571 (scroll down to the x-wing)) and the system scale 2012 sethave engines that look like a rod's been cut in half with one half shrunken in size and moved up so that the center doesn't match at all the center of the other cylinder. Is the studio model I linked the correct one which the Red five x-wing was based on? Did TLG make a mistake?
  12. Hi I was just wondering how, when you're buying individual pieces and non-sealed sets off of bricklink, do you know that the person hasn't simply used a 3D printer for the piece, or that it's a hand-made mod, or (for pieces that don't have the lego logo on them in the first place) that it's a decent-quality knock-off? Also, couldn't people just open a box, take the individual large loose pieces, swap them for fakes, put them back in the box, and sell the set years later at an outrageous price? However I am correct in assuming that people can't produce sealed lego parts bags on their own or simply reseal old ones on their own, right? Are their ways of telling what has still been kept sealed from the lego factories or what has been opened before or what parts are fake etc.? Or do people simply take their chances? I know these are a lot of questions, I really appreciate any help. :)
  13. http://shop.lego.com...ar-Wars-ByTheme Does anybody know why, in the link I just gave, that Canada Shop@home only have 3 sets that say "coming soon" and the u.s shop@home, which usually gets almost everything Canada gets at the same time, have all (10?) sets which also say "coming soon Feb. 17th"? I really hope the other sets aren't not distributed to Canada, that would suck, and I also hope that we get them around the same time as the U.S. Does anybody know what's going on here please?

Why are the people who always claim that the prequel trilogy sucks always so impolite about it? It annoys me. Another thing I don't appreciate is all the prequel trilogy dislikers stating their opinions as if they're fact. They hardly ever say "in my opinion...", or even "I think...".
