  1. Black parts are not my favorite. They just look more boring than even light bley, and are much harder to photograph, and as Lipko said, you can't see details very well. And about topics like this- while I agree that Alasdair's comment might have not been constructive, there are a bit too many topics like these lately...
  2. Awesome first MOC man! Welcome to Eurobricks. I really love how you incorporated advanced steering geometry on such a small scale, it really makes the model stand out.
  3. Could you post how you did this in the lego hydraulics thread? I'd like to see how you did it.
  4. Here from the Tecnnic perspective: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6536

This topic really should be pinned. Shouldn't be any need to bump it at all.
  6. Wow, that's pretty cool! I actually thought about building something like that once, but never got around to it. I'm looking forward to the result.
  7. Ok, I get what you're saying now. I think I will try it as is first, and if it doesn't work, I will modify it Oh, and by as is I mean with some modifications I'll make soon to make it stronger.
  8. I have used all five gears in the hub because without them, there is a lot of bump steer due to the pinhole in the center of the wheel as opposed to an axle hole. I'm not sure I get exactly what you're saying, where should I be putting the 12t gear?
  9. I thought of that, and it is a good option, besides two things - ground clearance as well as gear reduction as you have already stated. The vehicle has poor ground clearance with the current setup and even less with that.
  10. I guess. But I think I'll have to change the mounting points. I want as few u-joints as I can though, as the drive will transmitted through a total of 8 u-joints, and 12 if I used that. I will definitely consider it though!
  11. Ok, I'll try to fix that! But I don't want to make the ground clearance any lower, and it seems like I would need reinforcement on the top and bottom. :/ Well, I guess I'll try anyways. Oh wait, I see a solution. Will do that later.
  12. Oh, I guess you're right. But it's something very similar, I got them mixed up.
  13. Dat sword.... I will never question the moulding quality of Lego ever again. OK, maybe I will. But not for a while.
  14. You should enter this in the Technic Challenge! What's wrong with the steering? Is it just too fast?
  15. Wow, I love it, and the moving headlights are sweet!
  16. Thanks man! I'm starting to like studless a bit more now. Well, I think I'll just try to finish this project first and see how it turns out. Then maybe I'll build something much more simple. :) Oh, sorry. I forgot to say that I'm using these wheels on it which give it a 3:1 planetary gear reduction ratio: BTW, there are 31 gears on the axle alone
  17. Yeah, I've already used up all of my 16 tooth gears as well as 12 tooth bevel gears. I'm working on the central gearbox right now and already I've had to take some of the 16t gears from the planetary gear reduction assembly.
  18. Oh yeah, I forgot about that part. I think the 42009 ones are your best bet then.
  19. Model Team tyres. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2695c01
  20. Well I think if it's a van, then MT wheels should be perfect. Not sure if you can have 5-stud tall suspension with those though...
  21. I just did it for fun, I have a million of any of these pieces anyway. :P You're right though, it's pretty stupid! Oh well.
  22. Wow, MOCers like you never cease to amaze me It's so cute and lifelike, you captured it so perfectly!
  23. I think he'll be using the modified ones that actually work very nicely. MT wheels come to mind, but I might be misinterpreting what you're saying. I'm not exactly sure what wheel diameter you want.
  24. Yeah, I know. But that tiny amount of space isn't enough. Maybe with a lot of force though, but I don't really care, as none of the pieces in it are really of much value.
