  1. The old version with + hole also slides freely with no friction, it's never had any kind of grip as far as I know, by design.
  2. Beautiful solstice fir and another great calendar Merry Xmas!
  3. Merry Xmas, happy holidays! Have a bricky end of the year, folks!
  4. I have no interest in this particular set as I am no mc guy, but I find these inverted, concave(?) panels interesting as they're showing up and I want to get my hands on this new windshield piece, I love new windshield pieces with pinholes.
  5. For large sets I sort out the different types of parts, usually keeping pins, connectors and the small stuff in a pile, but for smaller sets I don't mind having everything in a single pile. I like to be organized, at least above a certain size of sets. I do agree with the guy with the "impossible build" avatar ( ) - it irks me when they do pics of loose parts laying around all mixed, panels with pins and connectors between them, some trays with mostly small parts and for some reason a few large parts casually placed among them. It does irritate me to some degree. But maybe that's the point, it makes people talk and gives the set attention, in one way or another.
  6. I think we're talking about a bar and/or pin with this on the end, the "holder" for towballs. The counter to e.g. the towball pin.
  7. I just tested this with both types of 8z gear and can confirm that there's enough clearance for this solution in all possible configurations I can think of.
  8. Personally I would like to see a new variation of this panel or similar that could work as a seat, where the attachment is on the underside of the short side as seen on the image, technically on the outside of the panel surface, alternatively just a "studless" version of the old Technic figure seat in a similar mould, cos I don't think the current solution with the above panel looks that good.
  9. Said video is unavailable for me in Norway as well, non-EU.
  10. I just tested this with the large curved gear rack, the only curved type I have and it absolutely fits into the housing of the straight one. You can actually push it all the way through the front part of the housing where the flat bits hold the gear rack in place.
  11. Strange with Friends using 42xxx set numbers. Is there any other range of 4xxxx that isn't being used? Maybe Technic could move to that, but in that case it's strange that they didn't move Friends there, but chose the one Technic has had for ages now.
  12. Dune: Part Two on Wednesday. A good continuation of the events of part one, spoken as someone who's never seen Dune (1984) og read the book it's based on. It feels a bit slow in some parts, but overall a good movie and satisfying to see the conclusion to the events of part one.
  13. That JCB DIGatron looks so cool
  14. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom yesterday (Thurs). Quite a good movie I think.
  15. I like the model and I'll probably get it to go with my 42136, but I do think it should have been in a bigger scale. Maybe not Claas Xerion, but both sets would benefit from being bigger, especially this one.
  16. Last night at my dad's place I watched Event Horizon (1997). Never seen it and although the effects are somewhat dated due to it being a 26 year old movie, it was good.
  17. I sincerely hate the current 2L axle/pinhole liftarms (+o) because of the change in plastic, cos the axlehole in the ones I have basically have no friction, they might as well be frictionless. I don't really mind the new pins, though I prefer to keep them separated from the old ones.
  18. The only options I can see for tree trunks fitting the size of this set would be - 98585 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=98585#T=S&O={"iconly":0} - 6222 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6222#T=S&O={"iconly":0} The brick exists in brown, the connector only in dark orange as the closest. I checked with some of the 4x4 brick that I have and 4 bricks together are 5L long. Possible logs in adequate lengths made out of these would probably require a 16L axle with 16 connectors or 12-13 bricks, meaning 13-14 or 17 additional parts per log.
  19. If you mean what I think you mean, it's this, released in 2021: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=77765#T=S&C=86&O={"color":86,"iconly":0}
  20. For accessibility, I think the pinholes could be facing down so the windshield could be removed upwards if need be, to make it easier. For the 2 pieces I linked, I have some of the first one and I use 2x of the "pin with pinhole" part inserted in the windshield and then attached to a liftarm with a 3L pin. I don't use any studded bricks in the front to hold it closed and I've only used it for a few SW-inspired fighters, but I would like to have more options that could be attached with pins which I personally prefer. In regards to the plastic and how the trans-clear panel appears to be kinda frosted, I have no idea why they did it that way. The windshield parts, even the ones that have pinholes, are clear and I can only assume it's a different type of plastic, maybe for strength reasons? But the trans-clear/colored liftarms were all made with clear plastic AFAIK and they should be sturdy enough... but maybe it's different since they are made thicked due to being liftarms.
  21. I wish TLG would update the mould of many of the windscreen pieces they've made and make more of them with pinholes to be "compatible" with technic pieces and models. As a fan of Star Wars and starships and a primary Technic builder I've gotten into doing starships with technic parts and although there are many windscreen/canopy type pieces, I feel like many more of them should be made with pinholes in the back, like these: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=45705#T=C https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41881#T=C Especially seeing as some of these bigger windshield pieces have a 1L thickness in the back regardless, I think they should be fitted with pinholes to make them more versatile.
  22. Thank you, I looked for it in every category I could think of, but wheel wasn't one of them.
  23. Excellent model of a really cool castle Out of curiousity, what's the ball shaped part in yellow/pearl gold used as a bowl in one of the interior rooms?
  24. Only in the second pic can I see, zoomed in, what looks like eyes inside the green helmet with the green feather. Other than that I can't see any sign of eyes and I can't see any place beyond the armors where he could hide. Nice and stylish scene though.
  25. Reportedly 7L alternating hole liftarm, as it seems to continue to the top of the wings which I've counted to be 7L.
