By way of minifigs and parts, the set is good, but as for that baseplate, theat kind of knocks way into the points. This is especially because of the slight angle the back of the piece is at, making it really difficult to put two of them together.
  2. Just buying the set might be worth it, I could see some use for the shark-man in a MOC or two.
  3. Hmm, I wonder if it would be possible to get a game started at Brickfair.

They seem interesting, but I'm going to withhold judgement until I can see some better pictures. (I need to stock up on trolls!)
  5. With as much as I despise the Jellybean Knights, I've at least found uses for some of the breastplates (colours can come in handy sometimes)
  6. Huntleyfx replied to DutchRebel's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
Agreed, the A wing is one of the best I've seen, much better than the one from Home One.
  7. Just curious, how does Woody stack up in size as compared to the Jack Stone figures?
  8. I have to say it, since no one has yet, but "Impressive, most impressive... but you are not a Jedi yet." Nice review, and a cool piece.
  9. I'm acually thinking I'm going to have to pick up more of these to have an impressive force of Snowtroopers, since they're composition is split amont three types of soldier instead of the usual two. (with the exception of the first clone BP)
  10. I'm actually thinking the torso might be cool to mix in with a group of Forestmen, just to help round out numbers. (At least until the Impulses arrive.)
  11. I double checked the rifles and metal detector, and they are perfect, I bent tested it again, with the plain rifle from IJ Race for the Stolen Treasure for a control, and the amount of "bend" is the same, it takes a lot of force toget it to move. The texture seems different though, it seems like the Soldier's rifles are almost slippery, like when too much mold release is used. The metal detector doesn't flake when inserted into the hand. I bought the set just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
  12. I picked up my first one of these sets today (I'll be going back for at least two more) at Walmart. The first thing I checked was the rifles and metal detector, and they are just as rigid as their non-green conterparts. Maybe it's a regional thing with the poor quality parts? Although I do have to agree, the face printing could be stronger, it's still a great set.

It will be sad seeing you leave, but be assured that a full parade will be in the works for when you return. Cheers, and good luck.

    Most impressive, jolly good show!

That sir, is truly amazing. I'm incapable of any other speech at the moment.
  16. I was looking at the Brickfair pages, and noticed there wasn't a section for the pirates theme leader. Does this position serve under the Castle theme leader?
  17. I like it, even more so than your first work. I look forward to seeing his next posting. (Shanghai perhaps?)
  18. Very well said; but I think there are a few more points to add: 1) When discussing the "good" humans versus the "bad" others in the castle line; we need to bear in mind that the stories of trolls and zombies are based upon literally thousands of years of folklore. Therefore, I think we can safely allow Lego off of the hook for the matter. 2) As for the good versus bad in Pirates, who is the good? Is it the Imperials, who are willing to do anything to get there way; or is it the pirates who murder and steal? Nothing in life is black and white, we learn this fact as we become older. Therefore, we will always be faced with difficulty when we apply adult sensibilities to a children's toy.

    Or "PARLEY!"
  20. Huntleyfx replied to jifel's post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I just thought of something, which might be just as amazing as elves; what if they are bringing back Forestmen?
  21. Huntleyfx replied to jifel's post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hmmm... If elves are in the future, I am sensing even more Lord of the Rings MOCs coming along. An excellent find!
  22. Huntleyfx replied to Capt. Kirk's post in a topic in LEGO Pirates
Is that a beret in the photo as well?
  23. May I present my entry, the honor guard and a bastion of the Rock of the Caribbean, Fort Prince George. (The thumbnail is a link)
  24. Huntleyfx replied to Commander Laquiet's post in a topic in Pirate MOCs
Points to the soldiers, "Quick, shoot them, they're Rebel Scum" and ducks.

I could most certainly find a use for the judges' wig. Someone needs to sentence the pirates to hang.
