About the "new" pirate map...
Personally, I like the new maps, and I've found that they work fairly well in a situation like a commandant's office, or a command post; where you would have several different maps all together. I am glad they decided to use the new one for the Pirates, as it adds some variety when mixing the old and new sets.

Fantasy Creatures
Thank you all for your help, I know have a definite course of action.
-
The Rogue Carrot Exterminator
I had completely forgotten about that until you mentioned it. The carrots are more dangerous than I first thought, indeed!
-
Starwars and Indiana Jones
I personally like the fact that TLC uses multiple heads for the same actor; anything that allows for more creative building is a good thing.

Caribbean clipper x2
oh, yessss my ship carring a crew of 14 soldiers :pir-skull: they are a bit compressed That just means they need to tak over a pirate ship soon Yayyy plunder!
-
The Empress
To quote Captain Jack Sparrow "It's just such a pretty boat, err.. SHIP!" The details are wonderful, and I especially love the fact the governor is well read. How did you build that wonderful bookcase?

How many Redbeards do you have?
I like the look of your Conquistadors. I never would have thought to use an Adventurers torso for Pirate-era troops.

New and Old Pirates - Compatible?
I don't have the ship yet, so I cannot comment on that; but I can tell you that old and new pirates do work together. With a little bit creativity, plus Bricklink, the Imperial Guards also go well with new Imperials. (I just promoted my old Guards to officer so they would fit in.) I also can say that the new sets are just as good, if not better than the old sets.

Lego launches new Games range
Hmmm... I'm thinking microscale Indiana Jones in my future (provided I can get the sets.) And I love the idea of buildable dice, Brikwars will never be the same. I definitely find it interesting, and I hope it does well so it make the international release.

The Rogue Carrot Exterminator
I agree. As any child will tell you, vegetables are extremely dangerous. I love the mid air flight action, very John Woo.
-
Fantasy Creatures
Just curious, has anyone tried to make any fantasy creatures aside from what LEGO makes? I'm working on a few centaurs, and kind of hit a wall. Thanks!

On the building of forts
Thanks again, I see why you have your MOC Expert title.
-
Treasure Map
Thanks, I'll have to keep that idea in mind.

The ship wrecked pirate what he would look like...
Just curious, have you tried the unshipwrecked figure with the Mathias head? It might be an interesting combination.
-
Republic Gunship Nose Art
Excellent work on the decals, at first I thought they were official designs. I always love good nose art, both vintage and futuristic. (And as an art student, believe me, I understand how hard it is to draw anatomy.) Although I never understood most men's fascination with Twi'leks. (I'm more of a Padme guy myself.)

Treasure Map
A very nice vig. What part did you use for the palm tree trunk?
-
On the building of forts
How sturdy are the round towers that use the 1x2 and 1x rounds? It seems like the tower might be rather fragile.
-
FRS Shakespeare
An excellent work, but how exactly does a rock float? Is it Cavorite?
-
Caribbean clipper x2
I especially enjoy the fact it holds a nice, large fighting force. Just the thing to take care of that nasty pirate problem.

Signature-Figure goes on a Journey in the Snow
I love the photos, especially the first one with his trail in the snow. Nice job. AND yes, I too disike snow.
-
How many Redbeards do you have?
This thread is making me rather sad, as I do not have any Redbeards at all (I was just a little too young for the first round of Pirates). I guess my pirate army is less army and more leaderless mob. (Oh well, they still give the Imperials a run for their money.)

MOC: Office Troll
I thoroughly liked your use of the skeleton arm to achieve the "flight" of the plane. Also, the pens are a very nice touch.
-
Agents Gold Tooth & Henchman Redo
I saw the villians that you had posted, and immediately had strains of the Bond theme running through my head. Excellent mash-ups, I would love to see Gold Tooth with Brickarms' Golden Gun. Are you doing a secret agent to match up against them?
-
Nordic people
Hmmm, with red hair, I'm seeing some Irish rebels in my future. Great idea!

Are you still there?
Congratulations on being blogged on The Brothers Brick!
