I usually spend as I go. Starting about now, though, I save up for when my wife shops for my birthday (October) and Christmas. This helps ease some of our christmastime spending. I tend to go to the LEGO store a lot (usually weekly), so it's not a big deal either way if I save or spend right away

I, personally, like the big Hulk. I like him to be more imposing. I got the minifig Hulk and sold him. I'm hoping for Fantastic Four sets, and would love the Thing to be like the big Hulk. Different strokes I guess. At least LEGO gave us the oprion.
  3. Isn't that just the first wave, though? Second wave of 2013 will be Man O' Steel and Iron Man 3, right?
  4. I guess it makes sense to have the BAT and Tumbler in the same set. Every Batman set so far has had a vehicle from each side, except the funhouse. (Well, and the Ultimate Collector Batmobile :P) Also makes sense that it would push the high-end Superheroes set (Arkham Asylum) to over $100. Especially with the number of minifigs we saw in the lineup. I would love to see a Black Manta, but I'm afraid that it will be Batman teaming up with Aquaman against Mr. Freeze or the Penguin.
  5. Oops...I meant to put Aquaman in with the Penguin set. And Beetle...somewhere. I dunno where.
  6. Keep in mind, I haven't seen the Spider-man Cartoon, and don't know much about Marvel in general. These are just wild guesses. $12.99 - Spider-man and some sort of bike or small car vs. Venom $19.99 - Arctic Batman in Batsled vs. Mr. Freeze in a small snowmobile $29.99 - Spider-man, Nick Fury in a flying craft vs. Beetle $34.99 - Batman and Batboat (from the new video game) vs. Penguin's Submarine $49.99 - The Dark Knight Rises - Batman and the BAT, + Commissioner Gordon vs. Bane in stolen SWAT van. $49.99 - Daily Bugle interior - Spider-man and Nova rescue J. Jonah Jamison from Doctor Doom $69.99 - Arkham Asylum - Winged Batman + Robin on his Motorcycle. Guard Tower w/ security guard. Room where Joker "seduces" (I know they wouldn't put it that way in a 7-14 set lol)., Scarecrow's fear gas lab. Poison Ivy in a greenhouse area.
  7. It's probably supposed to be a cold-climate armor, or "Arctic Batman," as he's called in some of the Fisher Price figure lines. Maybe some sort of set with Mr. Freeze and Aquaman..
  8. I'm guessing these are first wave, and second wave will be "Man of Steel" and "Iron Man 3"

Here's a good guide. Never tried it but a lot of people have successfully http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/01/lego-glued-magnet-removal/

Very nice. The Bat and the Cat riding together. How cute. What are the chrome "missile/dagger" pieces on the front of the Batpod?
  11. I thought of the B-Wing when I first saw the Twilight. So I guess great minds think alike;)
  12. Ha ha. I never realized his blue stripes or "tools" or whatever were carrots. That's awesome!

As far as DC, I think next year Batman is going to cool off :( I think we'll only get two Batman sets - probably the two best-known villains who didn't show up in 2012: Batboat / Some sort of Penguin watercraft Something with Mr. Freeze Three Man of Steel sets - no clue what they would be yet. One Green Lantern set - now that the cartoon has been on for a little bit. I haven't really watched the cartoon - except snippets while my son watches it - so I don't know what to expect.
  14. I have to agree that it was during my childhood LEGO days: 1985-1992 roughly. I loved looking over the catalog. It was really simple then. They had Duplo, Basic, Town, Space, Castle, and Technic (I think they were just starting Pirates around the time that I got out of it). I loved those original themes back then, especially Castle. Maybe I've turned into a bit of a hypocrite now, because all I collect now are licensed sets. I wouldn't say it is now, because it seems like LEGO is somewhat turning into an action figure line that includes building bricks.
  15. I would just a 6x9 bubble mailer. You have to fill out a customs declaration form at the post office (small form on which you state the value of the items you ship). To mail one polybag, it would cost around $3.00 to most countries. It's been my experience that delivery takes about a week to South America or Europe, and maybe 10-14 days to Asia and Australia (I'm in the Eastern US).
  16. Here's the picture. It's from the German amazon.de site.
  17. Usually, May 3-4 is the best SW LEGO event, but there are smaller deals. I Look forward to double VIP points (a couple of times a year) and stock up/ buy big sets

I vote for another battle pack. You can never have too many of those guys. ;) Or a keychain if you're just a little under.
  19. +1 for kyphur. Great set and fast shipping
  20. And, I don't believe that's a mechno-chair, but it seems to be the consensus so go with it now, I suppose.

I start with an 8x8 plate. Then use one or two of these depending on the weight. Some ships I've even been able to do three. Then a set of these hinges to angle the ship Completed stand In use, angled to the side and also straight down.

Since no one's responded yet. I've only been to the Chicago LEGOLand Discovery Center, which I believe is owned/operated by the same people who do the real Legoland. Anyway, the pick-a-brick wall there was really paltry in comparison to our regular Lego store here in Ohio. And I don't believe there were any exclusive parts, etc., other than the free commemorative brick from the "Factory tour." Also, as you may know, you won't earn and cannot redeem VIP points at the Legoland stores.
  23. Wow, that's good news.
  24. Last year's city and kingdom calendars were 35 USD. So I would expect this year's SW calendar to be 40USD or 50 Euros. That's all just speculation though.

I believe they are talking 10 years of UCS sets. 2000-2010.
