That's all true (and a fact I love) but the aesthetics were definitely nazi Germany. But with the mainly British actors, comparisons have been made with the British empire. So in essence they become an general stand in for imperialism. But anyway. The subject should be dropped.

I'm hoping for a more accurate snowspeeder too. They have always been oversized, and with the wrong cockpit. They've stuck with the same basic design for the better part of a decade now. The minifig scale at-at is the perfect opportunity to have a minifig scale Snowspeeder.

I queued midnight Leicester Square and built it over the next week or so. Wish I had waited as it took me 2 years to get a case, and so its dirty and stained and not perfect anymore. Was seriously tempted to buy a replacement. But I'm not that stupid.

I mean... it looks like a lego at-at. We've seen those before. For me, a lot will depend on size and scale. Because though I want it, I always knew it wouldn't be exciting off the bat because .... its a lego at-at. We've seen them before.

Lukes crashed snowspeeder is the only snowspeeder I can imagine they'd include, as dack isn't mentioned in the figs list, and he's a must for a snowspeeder. But even then, I doubt they'd include it, but happy to be wrong.

It does sound substantially different. It sounds like a more realistic depiction of a scene and a representation of the hut which I feel we have been missing. None of the huts to date have accurately represented what it looks like in the film, I feel. So I can see the *need* (such as it is) for this set, but I do agree that it would have been better to get something new.

New batman sets give our first look at the new stud shooters. Potentially less ugly to incorporate into sets. Maybe.

Death Star battle is really vague. ep4- battles throughout the Death Star on the rescue of leia. battle of yavin Ep6- the throne room (highly doubt a remake. That seems ridiculous despite what people believe about lego) battle of endor. there's huge scope in all of that, but also: ep9- kylo ren vs rey. the last one is interesting, because I don't know what they'd do at that price point, but I'm not willing to discount it straight away.

This is what I'm thinking. Is it iconic = yes Is it ucs material = not really. Do I want it = nope Is it hilarious = yep Even if I don't want it, I really wanna see it, just to what they would do with it. It is the smallest and least appropriate ucs idea. And that makes it fascinating to me.

I find the prequel fans vs orig trig fans thing really odd. I don't belive its a thing. Its sad there aren't more prequel sets for sure, but its strange to try to portray it as a beef. I wanted a decent minifig gunship, but voted Nebulon-B because I thought it could only be produced as a ucs. The idea that people voted to spite prequel fans or vice versa just doesn't seem realistic to me. Nor the idea that people would want a set to fail.

Yea, but if its just the figure people are interested in, they could just bricklink it. 350 is a lot of money regardless but its ridiculous money for just a figure.

Well, you are welcome to discuss the build. What do you think of it? The issue is people focusing only on the figures and being turned off a ucs set if they don't meet their requirements. The figures not being the focus of ucs sets does not negate the discussions of the theoretical line up.

Honestly if I had the space I'd likely get the gunship, but honestly the only thing that bothers me are the twin missile pods at the top of the wings. They seem too thin and not conical enough. But thats literally my only gripe. Its beautiful, but that inaccuracy bugs me.

Thing is: I think that a lot of the time the community latches on to the hasbro argument whenever discussion of licences comes about. I don't think lego is lying or whatever. Just that licences change, and are secretive as has been said. A lot of the examples in the video are before minifig collecting was a big thing. So discontinuing those makes sense. My feelings are: lego at its core is a construction toy company, so focusing on that makes sense. Perhaps they feel that to produce a sw cmf would be a a dilution in their brand. But either way if they have chosen all this time to focus on sets and not minifig polys. Thats up to them, and I'm not sure if they themselves have ever explicitly outright stated that hasbro was preventing them from doing it, just thats a conclusion that we have come to. We have to face facts that we don't always get what we want and they are under no obligation to give us what we want, however much on the surface that would appear to make economic sense. But if everyone switched to getting minifig packs instead of sets their profits would drop I feel.

Not the same thing at all. With Carano, you have someone who said some pretty terrible stuff repeatedly and unapologetically, and the company didn't want to be associated with that. Especially as a supposedly family friendly for everyone company. So parted ways with the actress. With Marie Tran, you have a load of pricks attacking a person, and being racist because they didn't like a character she played. In some cases because they didn't want women in in their wizards in space film. Not the same thing in the slightest.

But thats happened plenty of time enough to expect it though? We've had arm printing on gredo to never be repeated, arm printing on zev senesca never to be repeated. Dual molding on hans legs never to be repeated. An advance in one iteration of a fig doesn't mean that that then becomes standard for a fig, no matter how much we may want it to be.
