Wow, good eye. I figured Chima would have some of them. Good thing I wanted to get those wolves! Thanks for trying! Missed opportunity in my books, but still a cool piece.

They are new indeed! I noticed them in the prelim pics months back, but it's great to see them up close! Is it possible to put a brick or a cylinder over the inverted peg end so you could end up with a stud on the end? These look like they're going to open up some new building styles. I'm imagining robot elbows and such. Anyone know if the come in any other 2013 sets?

Man, I can't stop going over these pics, this is the most interested I've been in an official space line in a long time. It's even made me get out of lurker mode and start posting! I just realized how good these guys will look with black airtanks, which will balance out the colours a bit and give it much more of a military feel. It's almost like they were going for different squads of Clone Troopers, regarding the armored look of the torsos which are all identical. I'm really digging 70701, in addition to a great small spaceship, I'm digging the use of the sledgehammer as controls for the insect flyer. 70702 - The red team has a pretty nifty space flyer (what do we call these types of ships? They're pretty standard TLG fare from the earliest days on). Anyone else think the red robot's blades are based on those clear blue Halo swords? I'm getting a bit of a Halo vibe from the robots as well. 70703 - pretty blah 70704 - pretty fun. I'm really liking those new (?) space tires which should be fun to build with. They're a nice callback to old classic space tires. It does look pretty simple for what is going to be a $60-70 set though. 70705 - Loving the orange team robot. Liking the new robot wings. The ship leaves a lot to be desired, and must have been designed by the same designer as the big ship from Mars Mission. This has a very similar wing structure and lots of laser cannons all over the place. All in all, a pretty fun line, but it's gonna be a pain getting extras of those helmets for creating MOC space factions. They're gonna be expensive on Bricklink for quite some time.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up, but this could be a good reason for the new "normal" sword mold that might be replacing the old sword mold. Besides the Chess set, there haven't been any other sets that would need a medieval sword since it was discovered. Unless I'm wrong.

Looking at the team image on the box you can see two wing points behind him and the other Orange guy, so I'm pretty sure they're wings, but like you say, won't know until we get a review.
  6. There's some new set images from Galaxy Squad showing up, and I might hazard a guess as to what the Mecha minifigure might look like based on the Orange Team's robot. He looks pretty Gundam/Transformer inspired, and it appears that he's got mecha wings as well.

Yay! Pics! Those torso's on the Galaxy Squad are looking pretty great. Based on their individual logos, it would seem we'll be getting quite a few unique torsos, which is a nice change after Alien Conquest. Kind of disappointed about the white printing on the orange robot's face, seems to take away from the design, but I'm sure it'll look fine in person. Ha, Vertea I was just posting about what might be behind the orange team robot. You can see them in both his space truck and the team logo picture. I think you're right about the wings. If you mean the Chima bird wings, I think you might be right. There's a weird bit that I can't figure out though. The Chima wings have bars that attach to clips, while these wings look like the clip is on the wing, and it's attached around a black bar, which doesn't make sense considering the orange armour. Also, does it look like the dude in the cocoon in the Obliterator has some kind of respirator on his face? I thought it was an angry double sided face or possibly stubble until I viewed the large images.

Which TRU express was this? I'm sure there's other Canadians out there who are interested in figuring out where these are showing up...

Half a box of Minifigs left at the Victoria TRU, at the front counter, with a 4 per customer limit. They're going quickly.

Thanks for giving me what is apparently the UPC code! According to the guy i talked to who ran the number through his magic walmart gun, at my WM, the Minifigures are non-replenishable items, which means they were a one-time shot. So, for anyone else out there who wants to save themselves some driving around, call up your local walmart and have them run UPC0673 4191 3047 through their inventory gun, and they should be able to tell you whatever's going on with the Collectible minifigures in your area. What that means for us on the island, is that it sounds like that was it for Collectable Minifigs at Walmarts. And thanks for the welcome Tedbeard, I just fired off an email to join you guys..

That's a good question. I assume it would be on a receipt if anyone still has theirs. Most likely the # that they all have? I talked to someone at TRU here, and I guess I got lucky because he knew exactly what I was talking about, and that Langford WM was the only store around who's gotten them in yet, and that they're also way sold out. And no, I'm not a member of Viclug, because I noticed the boards there were pretty slow, and I'm generally a minifig collector who waffles in and out of collecting, but I guess I should bite the bullet and join up, if only to make the Lego connections in the city.

No luck at the Town & Country WM in Victoria, nor at TRU. Does anyone have the walmart item number for the Minifigs? Its what they need to track them within their system. I imagine it can be found on a receipt for any of the lucky ones who've found the figs at a WM already. Actually, a TRU # would be pretty helpful as well.

  14. Does anyone have the Walmart item number for the Minifigs? I just tried to track them down out here on Vancouver Island using the barcode (5 702014 602304) and they need the Walmart item number for them to be able to look into their fancy scanner guns and tell me which store has any in stock.
  15. 1. No 2. Individual 3. Something colourful. 4. Modular Castle style village. Much like the modular City Corner buildings, Lego could slowly release the components of a Medieval Village: - Blacksmith - Inn - more houses - town green - the Mill House - medieval farm - Lord's Manor 5. My only suggestion is to incorporate more throwback minifigures and models. The Kingdoms line is a great update for those for are getting nostalgic about their Crusaders and Dragon Knights from yesteryear. The Blacktron torso in the Raid VPR Space police set is another example. Kids will buy the sets regardless, but it's a great bonus for AFOLs to get an updated version of, say Ice Planet, or Forestmen minifigs, even if they're not the focus of the set.

I love the look of glee on the face of the gangster as he pours noxious chemicals into the water, great job!
