  1. Finally I had a few hours ( 3 hours ) to put all the parts that I have to work. I build two ramps and built a little ring with two different levels, also added a x-cross to make stuff interesting and used the rest of tracks that I have. It took me one hour to build the pillars, three for the ramps and the layout and one hour more to get back everything inside the box :) What do you use to design your tracks before hand?
  2. So do you think it is worth the money? I find it a bit step... around 100€. It is quite a lot of money for a ball.
  3. Woo! It looks fantastic! Excellent work.
  4. Hi, I wanted to buy the HiTechnic IR Ball but the price is crazy... so I decided to try something on my own. And build this using EV3 IR Remote. Here is how it performs with an Holonomic platform I built. Hope you like.
  5. Yep, right, the whole point on using bigger wheels was on making it move faster :)
  6. I recorded this video as part of the tutorial I wrote about line following at http://thetechnicgea...ing-mindstorms/ I find it quite interesting the different behavior of the tuned and untuned PID Controller. This weekend I have tried building a robot with bigger wheels ( the one from 42007 Motorbike ) and it missed the line quite easily... because a little correction moved the robot too much but too small Kp make the robot lose the line easily. Any ideas about what can I do?
  7. I couldn't wait for June to get my hands on the new Train Station... so I decided to give a try to LDD and do it myself... here is the result. Back part details. More photos at http://thetechnicgear.com/2014/02/moc-lego-city-60050-train-station/ What do you think?
  8. Have a look at this HOWTO do a x-cross track out of LEGO parts without glue or breaking them. http://www.youtube.c...?v=_i6OWkxXtuoç And here it is an endurance test. Hope you like
  9. Yeah, me neither... I will play a bit with it to make stronger. but the tiles that are just grabbed with two knobs and the big one just by one knob... so it isn't exactly rock solid.
  10. Hello all, I saw a few weeks ago and decided to build it myself. I have to say that it works pretty well... I will try to make it more robust this weekend but by now it works quite well. I will count how many times can the train cross it before taking it apart... which drives me to the question: Is it fine to glue lego plates? What should I use?
  11. There is nothing like building LEGO on the floor :P As Lipko says my whole flat is as big as some of your rooms :)
  12. Just wanted to let you know that I have written ( yet another ) EV3 review and compared it side by side to the NXT 2.0 http://thetechnicgear.com/2013/09/lego-mindstorms-ev3-review/
  13. Nice review. I am considering this model as my next acquisition... or perhaps I wait a few months and get the new mobile crane. Not sure about it...
  14. This is my LEGO collection so far... still have to build the 4x4 Crawler.
