  1. Out of Sight, you are absolutely correct. Didn't dawn on me about the effect these would have on the fine toloaraces that would be inside a LA. Work just fine for other lego gear/friction applications, but could hinder a LA. I've also used gear greese as well.(for standard gears not LA) If it were possible to disassemble the LA this might be one of the best option, but since no one has found a way to do this without destroying one, shock oil might be our best bet. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. All this talk about vegtable and other cooking oils.. Has anyone tried using RC car gear oil? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_1460_133/products_id/7468/n/Kyosho-TCD-Differential-Gear-Oil-Red These oils are designed for plastic gears. I've been using somthing simular to this for a while now on standard technic gears without any problems. Don't see why it wouldn't work on LA.
  3. First things first. Davidmull, thank you for posting that web site. Its fantastic! Lots of great pictures and information. I like seeing vehicles from other countries besides my own. Thank you again. I myself received 8258 as a present last year. Did a few mods such as dual rear wheels and hooked up the rear axle so it is now a driven axle. Defiantly one of TLC's best technic sets.

Very impressive road train you have there my friend. As others have said, the long nose tractor looks much better than the cab over. The attention to detail is great. Ever seen this? Might help in making future road train mocs. I'm currently making a B-double of a couple Ferrari Scuderia transport trucks. Should be done in a day or so. Again, great work!
  5. Saw Tron - Legacy. Didn't live up to all the hype. I mean the visuals were excellent. Probably the best I've seen in recent memory, but the story, the pace of the movie... all lacked. Even got a bit boring at times.
  6. Very impressive moc. I've been wanting to do a B-Double trailer moc for quite some time but haven't gotten around to doing it. I recently recieved the new Lego delivery truck (my apoligies, the set number escapes me at this time) and have been considering makiing a b-double out of it. Anyhow, again, very nice moc.
  7. I hope this hasn't been posted before. Looks like we have a list of the 2nd half of 2011 Technic sets. 8071 - Bucket Truck 8109 - Flatbed Truck 8110 - Unimog U400 Now there are pictures of these sets avaible, but i know EB has that rule about deep linking. I don't want to piss anyone off so i won't link were I saw the pics. But if you want to see pics then head on over to technic bricks dot com. I am curious if the Unimog or super car is supposed to be the Flagship for 2011 for Technic. The Unimog seems to have more features than the supercar, but its looking like the supercar is a little bit bigger. Maybe i'm wrong. I do like the come back of pnuematics.
  8. Very cool! now thats more like it! Thanks for the help CorneliusMurdock! Ya, i just can't see paying over $100 for this!

Thanks little buddy. But Those pics don't seem to work for me. When i click on the link it just says "picture not availible".
  10. Thanks for the Link. Ya, i had seen those, but have had very bad luck buying used DVD's from Amazon, and have a very hard time paying $100 for any single DVD. Hoping that there might be some sites out there that are a bit cheaper. I liked it. You have to remeber the time it was released and it was a made for TV movie in the 80's. So don't expect any acadamey award winning acting. But i think the story was cute. Becides, how can you not like a story about ewoks??

Not possible. No one can be sued for posting pics. Did anyone save them? They seem to be down.
  12. Hello everyone! I'm looking to see if anyone has found copies of the made for TV movie "Ewoks the battle for Endor" If your not familiar with the name, it was released in 1985 and took place in the star wars universe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ewoks:_The_Battle_for_Endor I remember having a copy of it on VHS as a kid and watching it nearly every chance i got. Now I'd like to experience that again with my family. Considering how much this forum is into star wars i figured if anyone could help it would be you guys. Thanks for the help.
  13. I hate New years. Always have, always will. Just another excuse for stupid people to act even more stupid than usual. And this year was no exception. people across the street form us had a party and were setting off fireworks starting at PM. The closer it got to new years the more people that showed up and set off more fireworks. Well shortly after 12, the started up again. Must have been 30+ people out front. Right when they were setting off fireworks a couple of police cars pulled up. Needless to say everyone ran. Some even jumped fences into peoples yards. By AM there were probably about 10 police cars out front arresting people. With all the commotion we didn't get to bed till around AM. In the morning found a couple neighbors cars damaged from people jumping on them trying to run from the cops. So for me, this is the best time of the year. The farthest time till the next new years.
  14. I'm sure we all would love a movie that looks similar to that of war for Cybertron, but the cost would have been horrendous. Anyways, i read a while back that the game makers were able to make this based on feed back from the first couple games. So the last games downfalls, are going to be this games success so to speak.

HOw about a draw bidge set? Or some kind of rasing bridge set. You can even include power functions to raise and lower the bridge. Could have the bridge, 2 civilian vehicles, a watch tower, and maybe even a mantiance vehicle.
  16. Hmm.. I'm not quite understanding the purpose of drilling out the axle conector and inserting the screw. Can you elaborate more please?
  17. Very true. I'm wondering why they didn't re-sign Rojian or whatever his name was that replaced Piquet Jr. At least he had seat time and finished races.
  18. Agreed! Hamiltion and Alsonso drove there A$$e$ off today. Making up nearly 15 grid spots. Now thats some driving! Sucks that Alsono's car gave out on him with 2 laps to go. He drove his a$$ off as well. Button did well, but your right, there's nothing all that special about him. Cool t see the points so close with the top 7. its defenatly anyones championship!
  19. Enteresting qualifing sesion indeed. I really don't get why they insist on starting these races in malasia so late, knowing there's more than a 75% chance of heavy rain. While it does make for an interesting race, it also poses a certain saftey issue for the drivers as well.
  20. Off roading perhaps? vehicles built to traverse off road terain. Maybe even aircraft.

Concidering the date, I can only hope your just having some fun at some memebers expense. Cause one can only be joking when one says MegaBlocks has better quality than lego. Having assembled a few of the halo sets for my Boss's son, the only way to keep them fully assembled was to glue them toeghter. So ya, nice try buddy!
  22. Tron is no more violent than Star Wars and people getting their arms chopped off, or being cut in half. So in this case Violence has nothing to do with this theme not coming to age. Not sure if this is real or not, but a tron theme is defenatly doable. Still holding out for a General Motors, or Chysler theme. So many vehicle poibilites there!

Well it looks like the pic i saw wasn't real (should have known) http://www.autoweek.com/article/20100401/NEWYORK/100409993 Going back to the 4 door. Looks ok, but i liked the hatch alot better. There were quite a few other cars making there presence at the show. One being the Cadilac CTS-V Coupe Edit: won't let me post pics of dynamic images??

I have never understood this complaint. I never had any problems distinguishing the robots fighting each other. Never felt the camera was over shaky. Heck, Bay and company even did quite a few scenes in slow motion to try and combat those complaints. But in the end, your just not going to please everyone. That, or maybe more people need to get glasses.

Saw it already yesterday on drifting.com. Link was taken down pretty quick as it was some kind of spy shot. Wing looked just like i thought it would. Attached to the side of the hatch. Nothing crazy at all like the WRC Focus or anything, just a tall single plane wing. (at least i couldn't see any multiple planes from the shot i saw.
