  1. There's continental drift, and then there's whatever the f*ck that is.
  2. Technically, 42178 is a construction vehicle. The description even identifies it as such.
  3. No, there"s plenty of excitement for the March sets. It just ain't March yet!
  4. Cool, but it might have been better to post in the dedicated set thread.
  5. I've been blathering on about the EC230, so here's the rundown on the Volvo FMX construction truck! This 🐕 is pretty damn impressive; can't wait to see what the Technic version looks like!
  6. Nice use of the unique yellow bucket from 8453! You could also add the stickers from 8283 to really correspond with the second image!
  7. Another item to note is that the EC230 has an enormous f*ck-off battery pack in the back, so that's gonna take up a fair few parts.
  8. My concern is that a huge trailer snarfing up half the parts would affect the scale of the excavator.
  9. As long as it isn't a low loader that snarfs up half the parts, then great.
  10. I see. Guess I was just hoping against hope.
  11. I thought that was just speculation.
  12. So there's still hope for the FMX being a tipper, then.
  13. Pneumatics offer less precision, though. I know LAs can take a while to crank, but that wasn't a problem back in the PF days.
  14. Plus, yet another pneumatic Volvo excavator? I love the EW160E (I know, technically it's a material handler) as much as the next witch, but come on! Plus, it would have been nice to see the CAT LAs being used. I wonder if it'll use the DBG rams or the yellow ones.
  15. The FMX isn't a tipper? Oh, gimme a break!
  16. Very nice job, although I think I prefer the weirdness of the original combi.
  17. Also just occurred to me that, in terms of part count, 42175 is the largest Volvo set to date.
  18. True. The EW160E is also more complex than a standard excavator because of its material-handling loadout and features such as the elevating cab and clamshell. A lot also depends on whether or not the EC230 is pneumatic.
  19. I'm still thinking that the EC230 is gonna be the same scale as the EW160E. I'm guessing it has the larger part count of the two, given that it's the more complex machine.
  20. Given that softer track links have appeared in the Liebherr LR13000, I guess that means they'll appear in 42175 as well.
  21. I'm just relieved 42175 isn't a CON+TROLL set.
