  1. Nice one! It definitively looks more spicey in black!
  2. Speaking of the London Escape, are there any pics about this set available?
  3. This would definitively be a good thing. It would add some more variety (cf. the new brown, white and grey owles in the HP sets). Overall, 2011 will be a good year for castle-fans! .
  4. Great entry! I especially like the somewhat diagonal door. I always think it is challenging to build houses that are not square. Also, though the exterior gives the impression of a small store, the interior is actually very spatious. Great work!
  5. Blurry leaked images only raise more attention and allow for speculation - all of this should make for good sales. Moreover, I personally love to get a glimpse of sets, even if they are not finalized. Lastly, i think it is part of the yearly ritual that images appear and get taken of the internet as soon as possible. I kind of like it. As a Kingdoms fan, there are only few moments where real new sets ccome out, so I need something to keep me busy

Excellent work! I like the chandelier the most, but this whole MOC is just great and breathes the HP atmosphere!
  7. Thanks for these comments elander and Gregorovich! I added two more pictures of the rogue soldiers. I found the reddish Viking head very fitting for the elf torso. Similarly, I think the silver helmets do very well with the torso. The only thing I am still not sure about is the visored helmet. Opened it looks quite good, but if you close it, it is a bit too big. Any suggestions? Regarding the details, I find it one of the nicest things to do. Especially adding brick-built accessories that are not just one molded piece are nice to do. Best, Kris
  8. As part of my project to build a medieval village, I decided to build a luxurious tavern. The story behind the tavern is the following: Based on a hillside at the border of the town, Tavern "The Dancing Dagger" is a hideout for restless noblemen and traveling merchants. This time a Princess and her royal guard have arrived. The princess is walking to her room, unaware of trouble to come. A band of rogue soldiers is on its way to the tavern and they mean no good. Trouble is brewing in tavern "The Dancing Dagger"... The rogue knights are approaching. An overview shot. What I like most about buildings are their interiors, hence I devoted a lot of attention to the interior parts of the building. A shot of the backside of the tavern: The guard is unaware of trouble to come. He's drinking beer (or is it hot chocolate?) and already has two more pints coming. Not the perfect preparation... All in all, this MOC benefited heavily from the excellent pieces available in the Prince of Persia Market set. The tavern has a cellar that can be entered through these stairs (based on the PoP set): The Princess' lounge: And lastly, life goes on for ordinary peasants - whatever happens. I included a very happy fisherman. But perhaps he's cheering too early, as a naughty cat is about to steal his fish... A technical note about this last one: I used the open-studded white round piece for the fisherman's equipment, and combined it with the accessories from the collectible minifig's fisherman. A second technical note: I really liked the elf. Not for his head or ears, but for his torso and excellent equipment. Based on two elf-figures and one dragon I made this band of rogue soldiers. I added two more pictures of the rogue soldiers: More pictures can be found in the Brickshelf-folder (when public): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=459320 Comments and feedback are more than welcome!
  9. Damn too late. Does anybody else still have the picture?
  10. Great work! I like the roof (amazing colour) and the interior most. NExt to that I like how you used the technic pieces to add more detail to the walls. Great job!
  11. Just bought this set in Cologne - they were flying from the shelves over there. I'm writing an English review right now. It will take some more time though (and my pictures are not as bright as in the other Dutch review - but I have more pictures ).
  12. excellent set! Great review! Many pictures, so we get a good view of the set. I love all the details inside the bank. LEGO really paid a lot of attention to them. I also like the vehicles. Very nice! Again this shows how LEGO just keeps on advancing.
  13. I live in the Netherlands so occasionally I'll go to the LEGO store in Cologne. The German cups are 16 or so; the smaller ones are 8.50. I'll go next Saturday (already excited ). The only problem is that the range of pieces is fairly limited. Luckily there's always the green and roof parts. Last time I went there, they also had dogs you could but in the cups . Well, just hope this time will also have exciting stuff. I'm also hoping to pick up a HP Diagon Alley set, but I guess that is not realistic as they are likely to be sold out.
  14. Impressive work! I like the candles the most, but the whole vignette is truly amazing!
  15. I would also guess it is the Lion's castle. In the Fantasy Era line, the biggest set was also available for two years, so it makes perfect sense. Regarding the image itself. I do not only see the red roof of the tower, but also the horse barding of the king's horse, and the flags on the second smaller tower. Overall, I do not expect a new large set. However, the lego sales on the website give a discount on the current two impulse sets (and the advent calender - but none of the other sets). May be that suggests we will get two new impulse sets? In any case I deem new impulse sets more likely than a new big set.

Though I am not a fan of Space, this theme seems to have a high 'camp'factor. I must say I actually like it!
  17. With the excellent horse barding in the 2010 wave I cannot believe that the 2011 barding would be plain. The MVR also includes one dragon with a silver helmet, another indication that these are clearly preliminary. Especially regarding minifigs I would expect changes.
  18. These pics look great! The sets seem to answer comments about earlier sets: The carriage has two horses pulling it (which is far more realistic) and overall seems more like a genuine carriage. There are no less than four horses in these four sets There are two semi-civilian sets (the blacksmith and village raid) There are less lion knights and more dragon knights There is a mounted dragon knight All in all these are epic sets. The only thing I find sad is that there are only four sets. With the quality of these four sets I would not mind having another seven of them. Moreover, only four sets means that the line is probably going to be discontinued next year. But let's not be pessimistic, these are simply great sets, every AFOL's dream come true...

The bank is definitively better than the booklet pic. I like it very much, I must admit. LEGO is really getting good at producing nice buildings!
  20. Excellent MOC! I like the wooden buildings the most. I love how they are all connected. The scenery is also very good and I like how it has a unique touch and feel. Great job!
  21. I agree, this pic really makes me want to get multiple vikings as well! He looks great!
  22. This ninjago theme surely is innovative. At first I thought it was kind of a ridiculous theme, but now it seems that there is stuff that will interest the kids and there is stuff that will interest the Afols. I also find the earth dragon and the Fire Temple wonderful. At the same time I think there's also a lot of hideous sets in this line (the skeleton fortress and the skeleton vehicles for instance). However, I like the fact that LEGO experiments. Surely there's always some bad sets when one experiments, but it's the best way to move forward.
  23. The brick built chicken in the MMV set was kind of odd, so I'll be very happy to see a chicken mold. Goats seem a bit odd, sheep would be nicer in my opinion. In any case, I would welcome both animals and minifigs!
  24. Well TLG managed to keep Harry Potter Diagon Alley a secret for a long time. Additionally, the PoTC sets have also been kept secret, with the exception of now two pictures. I think TLG is just getting better at preventing leaks.
  25. So this set did turn up at last! I like it a lot as it shows the current line's broader emphasis. It is not all about the fighting. I like the tree and the accessories. Hope it turns up in Europe as well!
