  1. In the beginning I was not particularly a fan of the Atlantis sets, but the 2011 line looks very good. Great buildings, great creatures. TLC also seems to invest more attention to expanding the creatures (which is also the case with the skeletons in the NinjaGo theme and the mummies in the PharaoQuest theme). I like it. The fantasy era skeletons for instance were really lame as opposed to the crownies. The current lines split the awesomeness over the good and the bad minifigs. Best, K.
  2. Some excellent pieces in these sets and overall I must say I like how the theme looks. I agree with the comments on the giant brick-built creatures though
  3. Woow they look great! Especially the elf - great printing, shield and hair/headpiece; and a s a bonus we get a green cape as well. In one word: fantastic minifig! Best, K.
  4. Strange that it is so expensive. Here in the Netherlands you can order it online for say 17 euros + shipping costs (7-8euro), which I share with two other friends since we order at the same time. Normally LEgo is always cheaper in the US. In any case, it's seems to be a very nice set, but 45 dollars may indeed be too much of a good thing... Best, K.

Very nice building! Great details. I think I like the secret male hideout best. Also, seemingly trivial details such as the wheel outside against the wall, give this MOC a very cosy feel. Great job! Best, K.
  6. Since I came out of my dark ages only in 2007, i did not know this set even existed. It is truly superb! The Shrieking Shack is very impressive. And it's playability is just stunning. The candy store looks a bit unfinished due to the roof and the minifigs actually do not really resemble the movie characters. But these are just minor things. And the shrieking shack by itself already makes up for them - not to mention the zillion rare pieces in the candy store! I think you really showed well how good this set is and I would especially like to mention te background music in the movies Great job! Best, K.
  7. It looks simple at first sight, but looking closer it is a very clever built. Nice job! I especially like the jeu de boule and the general "look and feel". It all fits very well together. Respect! Best, K.
  8. Indeed it sounds like a version of Charly and the Chocolate factory. I hope they continue doing this tour for quite some time as I don't have the money to do such a thing yet. We'll see. It's definitively something special and I must say I enjoyed looking at the pics and video! Best, K.
  9. Great review of a fantastic set! The detailing looks very nice, and you captured it pretty well with your pictures. Great job! Best, K.

Thanks for the link I scream Clone! I really like the queen. The detailed printing on her torso is really impressive. Has anyone else noticed the incredible amount of spare parts? It seems like you get two extra dark pearl swords when you open the sword in the stone Finally I'll be able to equip all my battle pack dragons (who now have their original light pearl weapons ). In sum: I can't wait to get my hands on this advent calender! Best, K.
  11. Message received. (it all seems very hush hush ) Any idea how long we have to keep silent? Best, K.
  12. I completely agree. I only buy medieval sets (to protect myself from spending too much money - and also because my girlfriend thinks I already collonized too much room in the house ). But nevertheless, man this is a good and cheap set which is easily modifiable to fit the medieval village I want to build. I'm just wondering how a medieval bakery would look like... By the way, Grogall thanks for all these pics and the great designer video! Best, K.
  13. Great set! I especially like the small details of the house (the bottom section of the walls, the interior, the doorstep, the colour scheme,...). It looks like a must-buy! Best, K.

Well that explains it. It's actually the only part where this limitation shows - the rest of the MOC seems very natural. I would really like to see this one in 'real bricks'. I think it would look great! Best, K.
  15. Well, I can tell you: in real life the castle looks even better than in the review. Best, K.

Excellent digital MOC! I also like the shower and the guest room most. The beach bar is also nice - though I do find the mixing of the brown roof and the white bar a bit odd. Nonetheless, very nice indeed! Best, K.
  17. Very clever, indeed!

Agreed. The Kingdoms line is a perfection of the original castle sets. Just look at the kingdoms king's castle: in a high number of tiny details it is better than every other castle. But all those small improvements make for an amazing castle. I am actually very impressed with the current wave. And let's hope another MMV will appear. That would make it perfect. Best, K.
  19. you would not want to mess with this guy! Great job!

Nice one! K. PS your sympathy clearly lies with the dragons ;)
  21. I just bought this set. It's great. The black tower is probably the most innovative of the Kingdoms series, but this one just plainly has it all: it's beautifully designed, has great accessories a beautiful roof and throne chamber, great minifigs and a perfect overall feel. This one is 'finished' - a feeling I did not have with the black tower. That set was cooler, but had some glaring weaknesses and was basically half unfinished. It does challenge you less as a moccer, but this set is more satisfying when it's built. Best, K.
  22. Great set with a very sleak design!
  23. Very nice indeed! I love the details you put into this one!
  24. Stunning indeed!
  25. Great job! I share your feelings about the set - and about the gently moccing as well. I too feel that the tower needs some modding. The back is indeed very disappointing in the original one. I did similar modifications to my version, but yours look slightly nicer I must admit . I especially like the brown pillars you inserted in the back wall. Regarding the upper tower, I like the larger room you created. The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the top of the tower. It's still a bit spatious (there's too much room) and empty. But perhaps this problem can already be solved by inserting some minifigs... Best, K.
