Thanks for the pics! They look very good! I love the new orc faces and Tauriel
  2. Great set! Thanks for the review! Elrond is indeed a good 'army builder' it seems. Also thanks for the comparison shots, they are very insightful!
  3. Not perfect, but very well nonetheless! Curious how the final product will be!
  4. Nice build creative and funny stickers, but quite disappointing minifigs.
  5. I agree, whether one likes the design or not, this seems to be the project that is gathering the most support (and has not flatlined, but is still steadily increasing its support), so it may be a good idea to support this one whatever one feels about the way it is executed.
  6. Makes sense. I ordered some of their elements in the past and they're pretty good so I will definitively not be purist: anything that resembles LOTR I'll buy
  7. Great review! Definitively one of the better series I would say: I want seven, that's more than the usual four or so. Love the hun (new cape, shield and printing )

Thanks for the pics! Looking good... Thorin looks surprisingly good actually! I also like Dain. Does the plume come off?

Well, I'll eat my hat if there is a picture in the back. Very much looking forward to the set description though.

Great! Looking forward to the description of the set!!

Well I guess once we have adjusted to getting these actual figs instead of the dream list ones, it will turn out that the battle set is actually quite ok. In fact all of the sets are already growing on me. I don't mind getting Bain instead of Bolg. I found Azog and Bolg far too fake looking in the movies anyway so I'd rather have the new orc hair than using that mold for a Bolg head piece. In any case, this is what it is and I'm pretty happy about it!

    Not a bad print. Thanks!

Well that's it then. I guess most of us have already saved the pictures anyway. Now let's hope TLG releases the official images quickly!

Well, it's lego he, so to a large degree it is always playing pretend, I have no problems with that . But I agree that it 'is' not Narzug: he looks different and would have had been labeled as such on the front of the box. I guess at this stage though, it will all be about the modding and the moccing. I'm afraid this is what we've been given, so we'll have to deal with it. Honestly, when I came out of my dark ages I would have dared to hope to get LOTR, I'm happy with what we've got. And my guess is that if the line-up of the smallest set had not leaked earlier we would all have found this a great set - as it is - I mean it is a real bonus to get Galadriel, the Witch King and a moddable Elrond in such a cheap set.

An opinion cannot be wrong, as it is not a fact. I agree with LEGO-Freak, it is definitively close enough to consider the orc Narzug. In essence that is also what lego is about: it is what you make of it.

Great find! I must say I'm starting to enjoy those two sets quite a bit. Especially the 'let's swing the witch king around feature' is pretty hilarious

Is it me or does Bard also feature in the Battle of the five armies set? May be his torso is different there? Also it seems a part of that set is still missing. Would be great to see that part as well! I love the new hair for the orcs, think the lake town set is pretty ok and like the catapult a lot. Shame indeed that there is so much overlap regarding the figs (no Bolg?!). But no additional Bilbo or Gandalf, that's good. Smallest set is indeed the best.
  18. Looking good! I'd buy it!

  20. Nice I especially like the armchair. The interior is similar in size as the original Winter Toy Workshop, so this is exactly as we could expect. Not a bad set. The reason why I will pass on it is because it does not really fit with the other 'realistic' sets. That being said: it is a lovely set!

Well given the huge price hike Smaug brings with it, a 60-70$ Lake town set with Smaug would probably just have a bilbo and two bricks next to it No I totally get that Smaug is in the biggest set: Smaug is the flagship. And it is a smart wove money wise as well: kids who want to reenact the battle of lake town now will have to ask their parents for two sets: lake town bell tower set and the erebor set. Honestly I `an more interested in the rest of the wave. Especially the B0FA. For now, let's just wait for more info and pics.

Well I just returned from my holiday and saw the pictures only minutes ago. I love Smaug - I find brick-built dragons often lacking (especially in comparison to the hyperrealistic minifgs we tend to get lately. The rest of the set is clearly a filler and rather weak, but then again, I had the same with the Dol Guldur battle which turned out to be a very nice building experience actually. Se we'll see. I have to admit though: I always was more curious about the other sets than this one. Given the price and piece count, my expectation is that the Dale set will include lots of minifigs.
  23. Well I guess some audiences will never be fully satisfied If you don't like the torso, just switch it: that's the beauty of LEGO, one can use one's creativity.

O I would be happy with any new exclusive fig: means TLG is still willing to invest in the line.
