  1. Hello everyone few months ago I shared a MOC in here, [Hero Factory 2014 MOC] Battle Mecha Breeze Now I return to share another MOC of mine Mecha has to have a Beast to fight with! and therefore, I present to you Toxic Shadow I didn't really base on the original design style of the Hero Factory 2014 line up. The original are more like ants, with a hive queen as a master mind. I am more imagining this as a random monster wondering near a city and attack it. I also try to increase the level of details on the model without making it easy to break apart. Avoid using too many system pieces, using technic element as the core structure. Using the head from 44021: SPLITTER Beast vs. FURNO & EVO, taking the small torso from the beast and turn in upside-down as the basic of the body. Also, using a prevIous legs design to make it more creature like. Maintaining a similiar style on the back also. Hope that you all enjoy this model as much as I do. And I look forward to share some more MOC of mine with all of you in the coming future. If you want to see some other MOC of mine, please visit my Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/iced_coffee/
  2. I think this is the first time I share something here, but here I am. I am totally in love with the new Hero Factory 14 product, and be studing on how to modify them for a while. And here is the first mecha come out of this study Battle Mecha Breeze When I look at the line up that is out in the market now, I found that breez doesn't have a mecha! And that's why she is getting one now Overview: Cockpit Look: Weapon collection overview: Build-in Weapon: - Chainsaw on wrist armor Equipment: - Sniper canon, with ammo pack - Machine Gun (From 2011 sets) - Energy Shield Now Breez is done, Time to build another one Rocka seems nice -------------------------------------- If you are interested in what other stuff I had build in the past, please visit my flickr page as below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/iced_coffee/

I usually think about the idea in my head for a few day/weeks, and then I will sit down with my bricks collection and see how it goes.... so, Not a good planner as you can see

Thanks! I spend around 2 a hour to come up with just a few photos I had planned to make more, The red mecha of the group of snow pirates look good, but it all depends on my brain as too many idea come up... What is IMHO? Lost Planet is a great Mecha game but actually the Weapon system is straight.... trying to be a "US" style game and end up stucked in the middle..... Minifigure MOC player? I was thinking about making such a minifigure with this mecha but I am not an expert at all...

Any of you ever fall into a game that you just can't resist the passion to build a LEGO version? I do, always and now is my new addiction.... Lost Planet GTT-01, I guess it's one of the "found everywhere" mecha within the game, it contain two removable machine gun. I did think about making other weapon, but I am out of idea to create other weapon Hope that you guys like it
  7. As an Hong Kong AFOL, it is such a shame to see this kind of things happen. Hope that more people will see this and be warned....

I've been dreaming about a MOC that show how people live on other planets for a while, and there was a competition held by Malaysia LegaoClub. I took the chance to make this dream happen. Here it is, the dream live on Mars. It is as simple as it should/can be, because I am focusing on re-creating the mood of it. This MOC contain a basic living area, a green house, water supply system and oxygen system. Inside the green house. You might also notice the gate has a air-lock design. The white tank is sort of a water supply system, the small tube in grey is oxygen system. The oxygen system come from the back of the green house, which capture the oxygen release by the plants and transfer them to the living area. A picture of our great explorer on Mars! ============================================ Extra Materials → → → Alien On Mars!!!! Time to run.....
  9. This is really nice, I wonder the reason you limited it's size. It will look great if you build the wholething!
  10. I am tradition, I like ultramarine..
  11. Man, I have no ideas that there are so many kind of landspeeder....... thanks for the tips...the one I try to do is the land speeder storm.... and yes I get the idea from DOW, but that game couldn't give me enough details to built so I turn to the models.... Thank you. I won't said that pointing out inaccuracy is a bad thing, It just a different way to look at an MOC. But I am glad that we have viewer like you that are more open-mind to these kind of stuff. and 15 YEARS of WH40K!!!!! That amazing!!!!! Blood angels though......I wonder if there are red pieces of some pieces I use.....
  12. I saw some in-depth conversation about if this is a accurate copy of the original design, I will get back to that later on. (Let me reply the simple one first....) Thank you BasOne, I actually decided to delete the dual exhaust on the Dread's back because of the overall outcome. I will explain more on my building philosophy later on. and the landspeeder, I though it have sites for passengers cause i found this picture from the internet.... Thank you, I use all-black scheme for a purpose, it is to explore the possibility to create an overall shape of round-and-bulky design with black bricks, as it will sort of ignore some of the details. I hope that you enjoy this MOC. Thank you Blacknight! Thank you lego wargammer. I did plan to make either the land raider or the predator tank, haven't make up my mind yet. (And some other MOC ideas have come to my mind at the mean time) -------------------------------------- Ok, time for the big task/question, why this model is not completely accurate. First of all, I am not trying to avoid any questions or start a frame-war or anything similar to that. I am just trying to explain some of the reason behind my building decisions, or some will say this is my building philosophy. To me, as I am/was an art-student, I try to look at LEGO in a different way. I believed that it is more that a toys. Some builder/artist use it as materials to re-produce something familiar to us, which is a very good start already. But what I have in mind is quite different. Looking back to the history of art, compare the time before and after photography become a new form of art, you will find something really interesting going on. Being accurate to the real world is something really important to painter before the invention of photography, especially it could become one of the major income - painting portrait for rich, nobles, etc. What happen after the invention of photography is that we soon have the impressionism, abstractionism, modernism, etc. Photography free painting itself from the chain of accuration and painting now have the room to explore possibility other than being accurate to the real world, or trying to create a realistic image of things that live only in our imaginations, such as religions. I don't believe we will have something similar to the importance of photos in LEGO world, or else it will lose the point to have LEGO at all. (In a different way of thinking, pixel arts is sort of lego...) But I believe, there are other possibility except being accurate to the real world. My philosophy is to capture the spirit of the original design, re-present it in a Lego content. So you can imagine this, someone will notice what it is while they just scan though the picture, yet, started to ask questions while they took a closer look. I would say it is a similar effect to Seurat's pointilism/divisionism painting, most famously know one is "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte". Although Seurat is still trying to re-produce the world under his painting, you can notice something really straight about his painting. I am really glad that you guys start to ask questions, because my philosophy will eventually lead us to one question, "Is that accuration is all Lego MOC about?" It is a big question, and I don't have an answer. But I started to test this philosophy around two years ago. The first try is the Twins from transformer, then the scorponok, Matrix APU, Soundwave, and finally this dreadnought and landspeeder. The funny thing is that, you guys can notice what it is right away, even there are differences with the original design. Most of the people will notice what it is in the first sight at the model, and start to question right after that. Of course, I doubt that I could create a more accurate model of all the model I've tested on this subject. I doubt that I could do it. (I properly won't try to build those in the first place if it wasn't for the test.) But it is my try to capture the spirit of the original design. And here it is, this is my theory and I am proud to say that this is my form of art. Thank you guys for giving important respond to this MOC. BTW, I am not a native-english speaker, so please correct me if anything doesn't seems right to you guys.

The whole idea come from my gaming experience of the WH40K:DOW, and the dreadnought is one of my favorite unit in the game. A Lego remake is a must, and here it is! Accidentally, I got the idea to build a landspeeder right after I finish up the dreadnought, so I decided to build it too. Hope that you all enjoy this work of mine, See you next time when I have something new to show you guys.

Thank you! I am glad that you guys like it! Back in Hong Kong, there are not many sci-fi builder and lover, so, I hope to meet more new friends here to share my sci-fi MOC. I am seriously thinking about it, but i couldn't think of a good way to make those legs at the back... That's for sure, I didn't use any bionicle part at all. Glad that you enjoy it! Thank you! What I am trying to do is to recreate the details in this scale, I am glad that you guys can feel the details within this MOC I have one question though... What is CB?

I only post one MOC since the opening of my account, and keep having problem to post picture in here But I figure out it doesn't matter, I just want to share my stuff with all of you!. The Lego version of the APU (Armored Personal Unit) used by Zion inside the movie. The basic structure came from SSA series and versatility has been improved to recreate the actual action of the APU Hope to share more MOC with all of you, see you guys around.
