  1. Hey guys I have set #10198 for sale. It's normally $150 before tax and I would like to get $120, a substantial saving for the buyer (almost $50 off after tax considerations; assuming 10% SoCal tax). I'm a grad student who needs to make some room. I'm located in Pasadena California and prefer a local trade. Let me know if you're interested.
  2. Hey guys I have a brand new Toy Story train set (set 7597) and the discontinued Agents mobile command center (8635) for sale. Toy Story set: $60 (original price: 80) Agents set: $95 (original price: 90; discontinued) I am in the Los Angeles area (Pasadena) and these prices would be a great saving since you avoid 10% tax. This means the Toy Story set normally goes for $88 (80 base + 8 tax) and the discontinued agents set... well, it would have gone for $99 (90 base + 9 tax) but it's discontinued now so it's a moot point. $95 for a NIB, sealed, discontinued item, I feel, is very reasonable. I greatly prefer a local sale. It's convenient for me and great for you as you can inspect the box and make sure that you get your product. I am open to shipping but you would have to bear paypal fees and shipping costs.. which is not good for either of us. I have 54 reviews on Ebay with 100% feedback by the way. Anyhow, let me know guys.
  3. i'll take the one with the bigger GEEBEEs lol! http://www.zazzle.com/thephonemart the iphone is overrated, in my opinion, but i gotta admit... it's one good looking phone. i'd rather use the money on Legos though :)
  4. got a noob question for you if you don't mind. what color blue is featured at the bottom (housing the cheese slopes + sporadically across the entire piece)? also, is the color of the gate and the brick pieces near the bottom brown or purple (or what color)? would appreciate your reply!
  5. you did a great job. the banshee, probe, and immortal are my favorites. great work A++
  6. well this is a good review and i appreciate it but... am i reading this right on page 5? you left out the fact that one of the packets came with missing pieces (the spaceman's legs) because you did not want to give an unfavorable impression on the set? it is my firm belief that a reviewer needs to be objective. if you allow your own biases to direct your review, the review becomes much less meaningful, even meaningless. an auditor, for example, loses all credibility when he loses objectivity in evaluating a company's financials. reviewing lego sets doesn't carry the same weight as an auditor, obviously, but the same general principle applies. if there is an issue with the set you purchased, you definitely should share that fact in the review, not hide it simply because you like the set. my 2cents. edit: i mean no offense to whitefang. this is just constructive criticism that, imo, all reviewers should keep in mind. by losing objectivity you do the community a disservice. with that said, i appreciate whitefang's efforts.
  7. SUPER clean, love it. great work.
  8. very well done.
  9. ^ it does look pretty good. thank you all for your responses. i have read everyone's responses and appreciate all the input.
  10. Guys and girls, I have a very basic question: where can I get the white backdrop that people use when taking Lego photography? What is it formally called and where did your purchase yours? Any websites that you recommend? I appreciate your time and help!
  11. i won't be purchasing this set. thanks for the review, however.
  12. i like the picture where you show us the mechanics of the build with the skirt. you did an amazing job, you must be proud.
  13. oh my gosh... please cut the nonsense bs... your post is one of the most ridiculous (and hilarious) of this entire thread... history from the caveman??? LMAO
  14. wholeheartedly agree with mikey and legoist. people who say "i don't mind that the purchase is random, i enjoy the gamble" are, at the end of it, looking at the situation in a selfish way. as was said by mikey and legoist, lego is really aimed for kids, not for AFOLs. step back, think beyond yourself and your selfish needs and see whether a blind purchase is good for ALL lego fans as a whole. mikey and legoist are looking at it in a deeper way than most AFOLs are.
