  1. yes, the "other" book, with kit fisto on the cover, which I've had on pre-order since last november, now has a delivery date of "5-6 december 2010" but they have let me order the other one as well, so amazon certainly seem to think there will be two different books..... strange
  2. very impressive Rock, as others have said, the display case is a great way to ...errrr... display a large part of your collection safely (looks guiltily at the dus.... errr, weathering effects on many of my own models...) I thought you were being very strong-willpowered keeping so many sets sealed, but on closer inspection I noticed most are duplicates - one of my many fantasies for when I win the lottery is a splurge on BL and ebay allowing me to have a complete collection on display AND in unopened boxes.... well, I can dream can't I?
  3. Peeron gives MSRP of sets....
  4. here's my newest one: "NOT THE CASTING?" love the way they're posed, and the in-scale leaf
  5. Heh - I still sometimes get outraged when I see SW lego being played with by friends' and relatives' offspring , but they've learned to make allowances for the Wierd Bloke Who Collects Lego..... At the moment trying to decide whether to fight my way through the ordering system on S@H or wait till the sets actually appear on the shelves - yes, I have all the patience of a kid on Xmas eve too.....
  6. with all my gibbering about weights, I forgot to say how impressed I was, and am, with this - excellent model, and the excel thing is great too, might try that for something, if I ever get the time....
  7. despite the die-hard imperialists in the uk, we have it here as well, and 1,000 Kgs = 1 tonne (not ton) - I think the confusion is because the uk uses the comma as a place marker for a thousand, and a period for the decimal point..... I know, I know, it's pedantry run amok, and it's off-topic, so I'll shut up now
  8. umm - because that's almost 3 tonnes - it doesn't look THAT big....
  9. yeah - it would be less trouble - and look better too - just photoshopping them in, but I thought I'd give it a try
  10. I finally started taking pics for the "Display your Army" thread, but decided to try something I've been meaning to get round to for ages - with all the laser pointers I've got as freebies at conferences and meetings (from drug companies, and generally only if there's doctors around, rather than just us plebs from the labs...) and finally managing to transport some dry ice home (need the "steam" so that the beam shows up) I thought I'd give it a try... unfortunately, time and space constraints (I can't leave the display up, and I got home late) meant it's a bit less impressive than I hoped, but for what it's worth, here, are some of my efforts... I'm definitely going to have to clear a proper, desk or above heaight area, as the bed is just too low (and it got a bit wet from water spillage also, I couldn't get the CO2 high enough for long enough (I originally wanted the turrets to be "firing" the green laser....) so I might try a more enclosed scene next time... finally, a couple I did a while ago, just using the lasers to illuminate the lightsabres... I hope that's not too many similar pics, thanks for you patience .... hopefully, THIS is the link for the brickshelf folder, once it's been approved....
  11. aye, sorry, I was going to make the comment DURING the helmet thread, but couldn't remember my login password, so I just hopped on the most recent post that mentioned it...apologies...
  12. it's obviously just my twisted, superficial mind that thinks the AT-AT helmet looks as if he's sticking his tongue out then...?
  13. errr, yes - he DID say he'd taken one off to show the printing ....

I'd just ordered 4 of the old-new sets from S@H when I read this, probably just as well I didn't see it first, as I could have afforded to add ANOTHER set, but what would I have dropped to get the Mon Calamari? Decisions decisions..... maybe I can scrape up enough NEXT month when I get the chrome stormy......

sigh, I went back after work, keen to uphold my honour, to find no trace of this "new" set, which was bad enough, then looking around, realised that it WAS in fact, not-lego-at-all, if I might make some feeble excuses - I'd been called-in at work 'til 5am the night before, and I was being urged rapidly in the direction of elsewhere by impatient and unsympathetic daughter and ex-wife, and the boxes ARE similar in style (obviously similar enough for a shelf stacker to have mixed them up at the weekend.... as you can imagine, I feel even smaller than young minifig anakin at the moment - apologies for wasting everyone's time - I'll return to lurking, and sin no more

apologies if I've missed this somewhere, but I did search in what I thought were relevant threads... I was in John Lewis on saturday, and saw a CW Obi Wan Kenobi's ship "it splits into two!" which I hadn't seen mentioned before, and certainly can't see on the S@H site.... just wondered if I've missed something obvious... also, have the CW boxes changed in the past couple of weeks - none of them seem to say what minifigs are in them anymore......
