Thanks ER0L. I agree, more Art-Deco needed, it'll not be my last moc in this style. I had contemplated putting a MOC on ideas but wasn't sure of whether my style would stand out from other town based MOC's. I had read somewhere you needed to provide instructions for your model which I can't do as everything is freebuilt. Be a bit of a dealbreaker if that was the case as reverse engineering sounds like a nightmare to me. I do wonder however whether this model in particular would be more successful as a lego ideas submission with minidolls rather than minifigures, probably suits the friends theme more! Cheers

Thank you! Maybe i'll get to see it for myself someday! Glad you like the colours, I spent ages trying to get the right amount of colour! Thanks guys! One of my favorite themes from childhood!

Hi EB followers. I've finished my most recent build. Predictably its another Art-Deco/Streamlined hotel building but I figured its been a few years since the last so I've had time to refine my ideas! It's called the Deluxe hotel and it's taken a couple of months to finalise due the constant changing of ideas in my mind in how I wanted it to look. It's not directly based of any paricular hotel but incorporates elements of many ones found in South Florida. Only a couple of images to show, the interior is quite shallow so I didn't bother with an interior this time. Anyway, comments and questions as always welcomed! You can find the images on my flickr here if you prefer. Regards! Andrew

Thanks @CroissantBricks! It only has a partial interior mainly just the checkered flooring. The higher floors windows don't look great from the back so I didn't bother with them. Thank you @LEGO Train 12 Volts Glad you like the architecture, its quite formal, tried to add some colour interest where I could!

Cafe CoCo. A European inspired corner building with a Cafe and apartments above. I thought I'd try and build something smaller and I'd be done quicker - how wrong I was! Gave me an excuse to have another go at a window technique I'd not used for a few years along with a different themed roof. As usual they can also be found on my Flickr page here Regards!

Thanks @Feuer Zug. I could possibly of been more ambitious with shaping if I'd ordered more bricks but just went with what I had. Cheers @Aanchir! I tried to incorporate the Octan logo tile from the corner garage into the side but couldn't fill the gap so the logo came about as a second choice, glad you like it! Thanks guys! I had the original Octan sets from the early 90's when I was a child so the colour scheme evokes great memories!

Hello fellow EB members. A small vignette showing a mid century streamline truck in an Octan livery. The driver stops for a well deserved break! You can view all my creations on my flickr account here if you so wish. Regards!

Thanks @CroissantBricks and @NewTown! A similar technique was used for the grand emporium many years ago I think so i'm not unique for that one. Glad you like the other features! @jval@Man with a hat@_TLG_@The Undo Thanks guys!

Thanks @Lyichir The windows are not particularly stable but its a nice effect, glad you like them! Thanks @LEGO Train 12 Volts. I spend alot of time studying architectural styles for MOC's. I am pleased you found the details. Cheers!

Hello EB members. A short post of my most recent MOC, its a street alongside a canal of European influence. There are a couple of shops within the two buildings with a small grocers along the canal selling plants and various fresh items. Just the one pic this time round; As usual you can find the rest of my MOCs here Thanks again!

Charming bakery! The colour combinations work really well.

Thank you, like no style I've attempted before but fun to make! Thanks, yeah good luck to him, I've never made that shot! Glad you like them, there are some small gaps around the diamonds, only the 4 outer corner cheese slopes are loose and with the right 1x1 studs with a brick on the side or both sides I could stabilise them at the top. The rest is all held in by pressure. I'm glad the days are gone of wearing the onsite shoes! Probably wasn't optional in the 50's! Thanks @lifeinplastic!

Hello fellow EB members. My latest MOC is called Atom Bowl. It's inspired by mid century architecture. I had intended to make it full on Googie but couldn't quite replicate some of the wild shapes prevelant in that style such as boomerangs. I spent most of the my time working on with the 'ball return' and diamond pattern. Couple of pictures; They are also found as usual on my flickr page: here All the best for 2024! Andrew

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
snaillad replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
First impressions are I'm a bit underwhelmed. I'd hoped after the Jazz club this one would be a bit more exciting but I feel architecturally TLG is playing it very safe. The Boutique hotel moved the line on with an interesting corner design and gave us something we hadn't seen before and also a decent amount of a new colour to the line. Two relatively boxy and simple designs in a row feels a shame to me and an opportunity missed. If this is the successor to the largest flagship modular build then assembly square looks a more interesting, colourful and appealing build. As much as the banners are a cool design, I feel like they've been added in the latter stages as the design probably looked a bit dull and lifeless until then. As for some positives, the minibuilds of the solar system and the earths core are pretty nice. Staircase design I also like. Minifigures look good too. I won't be rushing out for this one. See what next year brings! Regards
