  1. 19 or 21 studs wide would be much too wide for the scale you're aiming for. I could be wrong but the 42009 is only 17 wide. I dont see the bed needing to be much wider than the truck.
  2. Thanks again guys, rebrickable is absolutely phenomenal!!
  3. Thanks for the ideas guys - sorry that this is in the wrong forum, I have a bookmark set to the technic forum, I had no idea LDD had its own :D Is rebrickable bombproof? Because I tried importing into LDraw and it was missing 30% of the parts...
  4. Is anyone else experiencing this? I cannot export and of my models as BOM, which is very frustrating. Maybe someone with a working version of LDD can export these for me? I'd be very very grateful......
  5. Not so much though, if the tracks are built that far apart they would have to also be wider, it just looks off-scale, thats all.
  6. the middle structure looks a little wide considering the scale of the tracks -- something to consider :)
  7. Damn - I tried to search, couldn't find anything - I thought I was going to be a trend-setter Maybe I couldn't find it because its within the MB 42043 thread?
  8. As the title suggest, I'm curious what plans everyone has for the new pneumatic system when it becomes available? I'm going to use the new 1x11 pistons to build a Wasteco front loading garbage truck ** Hey can a MOD change the title from "move" to "moc" ? My computer auto-corrected me ............
  9. in other photos of the same display both sides are very clearly 1x3 and 1x2 DBG tiles
  10. I'm 100% certain that angled DBG 3x1 tile (above the licence plate, part of the grill) is improperly placed on the two technic half pins by half a stud. Its been bugging me ever since I first saw these photos.
  11. I wish they made the new pneumatics in a neutral colour like LBG so they wouldn't stick out as much in well colour coordinated MOCs...
  12. Hrmm... from the video this "new turntable" still only has 3 pinhole mounts on the top, and seems to be the same dimensions as the current "flimsy" turntable. If they were to introduce a new sturdier turntable, would it not make sense to scale it up appropriately? Part of the issue is that the current one is so small compared to the size of the new MOCs everyone is building these days.
  13. I can't remember but was 8436 the flagship of that year? If it was, times have definitely changed! Its easy to sit here and wish for more functions, but look at the model we're getting compared to every flagship in the past 1,000,000 years
  14. This is a great day to be a technic fan!! dual rear wheels (not seen since 8285 i believe) Longer pneumatics, suspension, its a fanboys dream!
  15. Here's an update for you guys I've uploaded part lists for the kenworth and another secret project to bricklink and so I will be able to build those two beasts very soon! In the meantime, I purchased Ingmar's chassis instructions and decided to build a small fleet. These three models together are 10,660 pieces All three trailers can be interchanged between the two trucks (Flat bed obviously requires the single axle dolly) Features are as follows: 1. Flatbed truck - Drive - Steer - Full suspension 2. Piggyback forklift - Drive - Steer - Lift/Lower forks - Tilt forks 3. Landoll 455 Trailer and Truck - Drive - Steer - Full suspension - Auxiliary pneumatic and PF for trailer - Travelling axle trailer - Pneumatic trailer tilt 4. Manac extendable trailer - Full suspension - PF trailer extension mechanism
  16. Thanks arik -- I spent a whole lifetime searching google with now real answer - Cheers!
  17. Hey - sort of off topic - but can anyone tell me the overall length (in studs) that the small cylinder is when extended *and* retracted ??
  18. Where on Bricklink can I upload the LDD file directly? Some of you have mentioned this, but I can't find it. I was able to upload my inventory to BL through some serious grunt work (Excel -> Tab-separated -> XML -> upload XML to BL) - very interesting (also annoying) having to swap out old discontinued parts that exist in LDD with current versions on BL. There's gotta be a better way to do this. I'll check out re-brickable next!
  19. Hey so, I've got this huge excel file that LDD has spit out, and I've now just reorganized everything by colour - not by part - which will actually aid in building the first steps in one of my MOCs - the chassis is all LBG Do any of you have any suggestions for buying large amounts of different pieces? For example, I've got ~120 parts in Light Bluish Grey, each with their own quantity (total of about 1200 pieces) that I'd like to buy in as few orders as possible. Ideally one or two big stores. Can anyone recommend some good stores they've had a lot of success with? I'd hate to have to get my 1x1 bricks from store A, my 1x2 bricks from store B, and 1x4 bricks from Store C Does that make sense ??
  20. Hey efferman - I'm curious as to what changes you might be making to the HD turntable are? I think I remember reading somewhere recently that you are going to modify it in some way ...
  21. I'm just thinking off the seat of my pants here, but you could try using two selector parts (6641) where one is used to select A or B and the second one moves based on the position of the clutch ring and its rotation activates some gear mesh that would be AB when the ring is in neutral .. .
  22. I love the front and back end, but I think more can be done with the sides as they are so flat and vertical compared to the rest of the car! You've done such a great job on the front and back in terms of obtuse angles etc, I think more can be done with the sides of the car!
  23. Looks amazing! Where did you get the reflective tape from ?
  24. Thanks everyone! It's 100% complete, and the brick inventory is good to go, I reallllly hope the sbrick becomes available for mass consumption soon! No suspension, There are too many mechanisms and what not to try and figure out a suspension system as well Next truck, I promise =)
