General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNice mock-up! Seems about right, unless the steering links are shorter. Too bad these suspension arms will not be suitable for high loads, since there are no other connection points.

General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI think it's around 3x5 stud size with crossholes. It's great to have another suspension arm to work with!

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
Zerobricks replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI already found this bug when building the Universal Offroader V2, where originally one BuWizz 3.0 is suppose to take care of steering and other for gearbox. It is planned to be fixed.

[MOC] Suspension test Double Wishbone VS I-Beam
Zerobricks replied to rinatfruggi's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI would dare assume say independent is more efficient, since there is less sideways motion on the wheels and thereby lower friction and lower load on the bearings.

Offroad Vehicle Design bible
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYou can go a step further and have each wheel powered by an independent motor too! But uneven terrain might end up messing up the calculations since the wheels have to drive a longer distance than when driving on a flat surface.

General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAlready discussed here: And you can check the review here: https://brickset.com/article/105523/review-60431-space-explorer-rover-and-alien-life And the shock absorber is soft, the hard ones has a different spring shape with uneven windings in the middle or at start/end for new version.

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
Zerobricks replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPlease understand I am NOT the app developer, or the CEO, or some kind of a miracle worker like Scotty, so I can't give you an exact answer. What I can tell you is that it takes a lot of time to test the app, since there are 3 controllers to support and a lot of different types of phones for Android (Samsung being the most troublesome from my experience) and of course also iOS devices. We only have ONE person who develops the app and ONE person actually testing it on real-life models (yours trully). As so I spent last few weeks mostly testing all the different devices, setups, models and I can definetly say that the update is now mature enough and will be published in the coming days/week (singular).

Offroad Vehicle Design bible
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPhotos restored! Who knows, maybe I will update the topic one day, since a lot of things have indeed changed and improved since 2019. Currently it's easier than ever to make off-road models.

2024 Technic Sets Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe Mercedes F1 car has new, slick tyres, pushrod suspension in front and what seems to be pullrod suspension in the back. There also seem to be new, smaller wheels and tyres on the smaller, studded F1 car, about time.

General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis turntable change came out already in the 42144 and I think 75313. I think the reasons for redesigns and reinforcment are material change, though I also think that 42146 also played a big part.

Bugatti Chiron 42083 stuck at step 298
Zerobricks replied to ShlokBinks's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMight be faster to just take it apart and restart IMO. Also are these original LEGO pieces? The black doesn't look really black on these photos.

Axle Collection Thread
Zerobricks replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI am refering to the dark bluish grey 28 tooth differential. EDIT: My bad, I was wrong. How about using no differential or double axle drive with 12 tooth bevel gears? Or you can simply offset the diff and drive axle by a stud to the side.
-
Axle Collection Thread
Zerobricks replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingA 6L suspension arm will allow the normal diff to pass under it, so you don't have to put them at an angle.

42179 Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit
Zerobricks replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingDon't forget if the gear ratio is 364,5 the Earth does one additional revolution going around, so the end gear ratio is actually 365,5. More context:
