  1. The original ones can still be found, i brought a new 8043 off ebay 2 weeks ago, and it ended up being one of the original ones (only found out when i physically checked it). The offical way to check from lego is the following. Then you just get in contact with lego directly and they will send you out some replacement parts.
  2. Thanks, was hoping i could save on shipping, $80 is a bit steep. Seems no one can get it, which is a bit weird for a flagship. If anyone else wants to bring one in drop me a pm, and we could split shipping costs.
  3. Does anyone know where you can get the Technic Excavator (8043) in Christchurch?
  4. Look closely at the rest of the photos, and the details i posted in my original post. Quite correct, and the different stickers are the major giveaway. Ha thats why i haven't started collecting all the sets, once you start you can't stop :P Now you see what i mentioned about stickers hard to find another set... Lego may have changed their stickers, or the model was kept really well, as they are in very good condition.
  5. Blakbird asked for more info on this model ( in this thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44011), so i thought i would post it up here for everyone to see, i know when i searched for more info on this set that nothing come up so this might help someone in the future. More photos I got the set from a person who said it was on display at the local BMW dealership in Tauranga, New Zealand. The main differences i noticed compared to the standards Williams F1 model are as follows. Box Pin Keyring Lanyard Front wing stickers (white) Rear wing main stickers (white) Rear wing side stickers (no Castrol) Mirror stickers (Full name) Side stickers (hp on angle) Instructions look to be exactly the same as the normal model. I believe this was probably a promotional F1 set to more then one BMW dealer. The reason why the stickers are different are probably because sponsorship has changed for the car over the years, and the sponsors (HP) branding has changed, this would suggest it came out later then the original model. If anyone has more info on this model then please do post it up here.
  6. I have the bmw dealer edition of the Williams F-1 Racer, even rarer, and just happens to have some different stickers... Luckily the stickers are in good nick apart from the rear wing (one of the ones thats different), but i don't stand a chance of ever getting a second set, only way would be to do photograph them and try and clean them up in photoshop, doable but a lot of work.
  7. Thanks, picked one up today, its a beauty.
  8. Thanks, do you know what price do they have on them? After much hunting online i found one store offering it for $300 with free shipping. http://www.iqtoys.co.nz/product/lego-pirates-imperial-flagship-10210/
  9. Does anyone know where you can get the Imperial Flagship in Christchurch, and for what price?
  10. I take it everyone's noticed that the forward and backward arrows on the excavator box are angled slightly from left to right... And notice the two collections of functions on the box, i.e one for the arm movements, one for the base and super structure rotation.
  11. Direct link to the Technic photos in FBTB's Flickr Photostream http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=technic&w=40714885@N07
  12. 8258 Technic Crane Truck at Kmart Riccaton Christchurch, $240 NOT on sale, Bargain!
  13. The following images are my attempt at remote controlling the 8421 Mobile Crane. I originally saw one on youtube that had the motors stuck out the back where the knobs normally went, and i thought i could intergrate them a bit better... The idea was to run the motor cables back through the turntable and have the recievers and battery box as the counter balance, would have been the best looking and most functional place for them. However i ran out of M Motors and i needed extension cables, and i wasn't willing to pay S@H's insane prices just for a few cables... The LA's worked extremely well only had to bring the top mounting point back a few places, and only lost about 1 degree at full extension of the arm by using them. The chain for the stabilizers also worked well as when the load got to high it would slip, acting just like a clutch, which i couldn't fit in. Posting these pictures up so if anyone else is wanting to RC the 8421 Mobile Crane they can see a different way of approaching it.
  14. What are the prices like compared to New Zealand ones? And do they have much Technic?
