  1. I called Lego Direct in the UK about this. They say that they know nothing about it, but that they are investigating. They were questioning the authenticity and perhaps that the packaging had been doctored in some way! I'm not so sure to be honest, looks like the real deal to me. If it were to be given away, like the Chrome Vader, this would not happen in Europe. Any such giveaways have to be 'No Purchase Necessary' under EU guidelines. Fingers crossed that they offer it as part of a promotion in Toys R Us or something.
  2. I'm in the UK and have just ordered another Dropship. The shipping is free.
  3. It's like a lot of products that you buy these days though. They never fill-up a cereal box, a bag of crisps etc. It's a bit of a con though and the Mums and Dads buying toys for their kids will be sucked in by the size of the box. It's also a waste of cardboard and plastic quite frankly, quite shameful.
  4. Thanks. I'm thankful for the storage space that I have although I could do with more. After I took the photo, all of those sets returned to various positions dotted around the house. That's kind of cool in a way, but it's nice to have them together. Yeah the Death Star is the only recent release that I haven't got yet. I keep putting it off hoping that the price will fall a bit.
  5. I thought I'd see what some of my sets looked like side-by-side. They're usually dotted around the place because I don't have space for the larger ones. I've got a Sandcrawler, Tantive, Home One and the UCS Falcon all still to build but nowhere to put them! I will upload some pics of my minifigs when I get the chance.
  6. Well I ordered about 10 sets in total. I was charged for the 9 that were available and received them 4 days ago. I was not charged for the ARC. The ARC set was not on the invoice I received with the others. They have now charged me for it, individually, so I can only assume that it will be on the way. It makes no sense to charge it separately.
  7. I built mine today - I love it. Can anyone that has this set do me a favour? Can you check the underside of the largest black piece that form the wings and see if they are matt black or 'shiny' black? Three out of the six of these pieces are MATT black on the underside and this is surely not correct?
  8. What's the best way to correct the perma-lean? I mean, Zurg tilts slightly to his right hand side due to the weight of the gun and it looks stupid when he is stood upright. Any ideas?
  9. The money has been taken from my bank account for the ARC Fighter, via Shop@Home UK. It's on back order but they've obviously got stock.
  10. So I've got all of the new Toy Story sets. My favourite of all, the little aliens! They are so, so good. The Army Men are also a highlight, I think their 'stand' really makes them and the suitcase that the medic carries is also a nice touch. The Construct-a-Buzz is just a little bit small, the visor doesn't close 'flush' and you can pull off many poses with him. Similarly, the big Zurg is just a bit too simple really. The Spaceship is nice, it fits in very well with the theme I think. The pull back mechanism on the toy car is great - if you have hard flooring, or anything not carpet, it really whizzes across the floor at quite a pace. I should think that kids will love it.
  11. I just wanted to share my badly taken picture of some of my new arrivals. I am loving the Freeco Speeder, Anakin is great. The Swamp Speeder comes in a ridiculously huge box for the size of the model, but Barriss makes the set and the price well worth it. The Landspeeder is my favourite, I just love the Sandtrooper and I've finally got hold of a C-3PO! I've still got the Defender and Tri-Fighter, along with the BPs to build but the ARC didn't arrive. :(
  12. You have to applaud anyone that tries. However, I think it looks a bit odd!
  13. TLG is getting 'top whack' on every set purchased via S@H. They get the full RRP as there is no middle man to pay and they don't have the overheads of renting a store. Their after sales service is probaly THE best though. I've had lots of spare parts sent to me and they've often apologised and sent me the odd free keyring as a goodwill gesture.
  14. Toys Toys Toys have a decent range, independent toy stores are so scarce these days. Although, before Christmas they had NO Star Wars Lego at all.
  15. I've always thought that TLG are a bit stingy though. The fact that they charge you shipping for £250+ orders is the main reason for this. I though that they might hold off until they have everything in my order in stock. Although, having said that, they do use DHL who are pretty reliable and worth paying for and the parcels are nicely packed.
