  3. Remember guys, if you want to talk about the sets and their availability, please use the Bionicle 2016 Sets topic.
  4. Yup, try to use bricklink or brickset to see which sets do you have, and if you still have some doubts, you can ask on this topic.
  5. Depending on its size and the fabric used, I would try to use it to make a bowtie. Would that count as a MOC ?
  6. According to the list of Lego Stores and this Brickset article, it's not an official Lego Store, so I don't think anyone there could have told you about the state of the theme, unless there was someone from Lego at the opening.

I can't stop looking at this MOC since you've posted it on Flickr. I'm amazed by its apparent simplicity. At first you just see a bunch of CCBS shells, but you know there's more than meets the eye. And when you look closely, you notice that there are no unnecessary parts. If something's there, it's because it needs to be there. I can't quote the exact post, but I think I remember having seen someone here, on Eurobricks (don't think it was in the Constraction subforum) talk about simplexity. I think this word describes the MOC perfectly. Building a MOC with such distinct shapes and features is a thing, but doing this while keeping the build as simple and clean as possible is one other, and you brilliantly managed to do it. I truly think this MOC should be an example for every builder out there. Some of your other MOCs may show more personality, and use more unusual techniques, but they don't "feel" like this one. The only bit I don't really like is the axe, but I can't really tell what. Maybe the flame is too much ? Also, your parts are so shiny, do you wax them ? Chima wings.

I've made this once : Based on this MOC by Logan McOwen : Mine has a mechanism which uses a gearrack to change the position : However it requires a bigger surface, so it could need a few modifications.
  9. It should be possible to get an idea through Brickset, by sorting each wave by the number of people who own the sets. Maybe Brickpicker and Rebrickable can provide some data too.
  10. You seem really too negative. We don't know how good (or how bad, if you want to see the glass half empty) BIONICLE is doing, as we don't have official sales informations, so why already assume Constraction-only themes are doomed ? We'll most certainly have more Star Wars action figures in the future, but that doesn't mean we won't get any brand new constraction theme. I'd also like some kind of "Exo Force 2.0", and the addition of minifigs could attract more people to constraction. I would also like to see a medieval theme, but I can't see that happening too soon because of Nexo Knights (unless they eventually make NK Constraction sets).
  11. You could say the same about the pistons on the 2015 Toa add-on, the Uniter chestpiece, or lots of G1 parts. It's not because they're not actual moving pistons that they don't need to be there.
  12. I don't know, I don't have these wheels. I can't tell for sure as I don't have the Nexo Knight ammo part (the part with the ball), but the diameter of the ball is the same as the diameter of the technic towballs and the Mixel joints, so it should fit. Yep. This is actually the main purpose of this part, as you can see with Kylo Ren's lightsaber : Which means the NK ammo fits into this part (5M beam for scale) : Don't know how useful such a connection could be, though.
  13. Not right now, but maybe in the future. I still have a few weeks to decide.
  14. I'm the guy who launched the Constraction Telephone Game, actually. I'm glad it generated some interest among other fans. The idea comes from the Starfighter Telephone Game, but our rules were a tad different, I think. People registered for a given week, and a MOC was posted each week. I've posted the first MOC, the next player had one week to build a MOC inspired by mine, the third player had to build a MOC inspired by the second one, and so on. I've built the first MOC and the last MOC, and they're quite different, to say the least :
  15. I thought the new pieces introduced with the Elemental Creatures could be useful to make G2 Bohrok. Here's what I came up with : This one can't unfortunately roll into a ball, but at least it can give headbutts. You can see a video here, and download the lxf file of the body here.
  16. Of course, makes sense, since the Star Wars torso armour also fits a 9*11 torso bone (where the central balljoint is lower than on the Uniter torso). Thank you !
  17. Does the Uniter torso armour fit on the gearbox Star Wars torso ? And in the same way, does the Star Wars torso armour fit on the Uniter torso ?
  18. Of course, I should've been more precise, what I had in mind was closer to monstrous beasts than evil counterparts for the 1H Creatures, without going as far as DraikNova (what you're suggesting could give nightmares to kids ).
  19. And what's the logic behind designing "something as atrocious as Quake Beast" for a failing theme ? You'd think if a theme is not successful, they would at least try to save it by designing good sets, wouldn't they ? The designers are trying to make something different from the Uniters, and I like that. However, they are seemingly lacking budget. Quake Beast and Storm Beast have some neat ideas, but they clearly suffer from being 15€ sets. What mostly disappoints me with this wave is the lack of originality. Humanoid beasts, yay ! I had a discussion with TheOneVeyronian a few weeks ago, and we evoked the possibility of the Beasts being like the corrupted Rahi : basically evil animals. From the names, I was seeing Storm Beast as an electric bird (with a flapping function constructed like either Skull Basher or some of the Creatures), Quake Beast as a gorilla-like creature (a mix of Terak and Raw Jaw), and we thought of Lava Beast as a hound-like creature, with a jaw feature similar to Muaka & Kane-Ra, but which made use of a shadow trap as a mouth. With the actual sets, the designers are trying new things, which is good, but the basic idea behind the Beasts is too unoriginal. EDIT : I also fail to understand the reason behind the custom legs on the Beasts. Seriously, why not using regular bones ?
  20. I've read an interesting theory about Umarak, apparently he's based on the Wendigo.
  21. I don't necessary think we should change the main characters specifically every two years (and I'd be kinda disappointed if the Toa we know aren't those who fight Makuta in 2017), but I think it would be good to see new heroes after 2017, if Lego decides to keep Bionicle running. I'd like to see a new story arc bringing its own heroes (or even put in the spotlight characters we already know, like the Protectors). It's not really the same thing, Ninjago's characters are minifigs, and their appearances mostly rely on different prints (and, in Ninjago's case, different headgears). When it comes to a Constraction line, it's a lot different, they have to offer new and / or unique builds and stay true to the original characters. It's much more complicated. However, I agree about the Heroes, although I think the fact that they had the same helmets in 2010 and in 2012 (except Evo and Nex, of course) greatly helped, because the helmets were an important part of their identities. Which makes me think that perhaps, instead of having new masks again, the Toa of 2017 could have full-transparent versions of their original masks.
  22. But it's not always the same Red Ranger. They all are Red Rangers, but under the masks there are different guys (although it's certainly not obvious when you see the toys). However, the same can't certainly be said for Batman, so on this point I agree. I was talking about the sets, not the story. Although yes, the (almost) total absence of the Toa Nuva from the story during four years was certainly a mistake, and in 2008, I wasn't much following the story, so when I saw that they were coming back, I thought "Huh, but what did they do during all this time ?"
  23. It was refreshing. I think what we had was better than seeing Tahu Metru, Tahu Hordika, Tahu Inika, and so on. Introducing new characters allow to bring in new design concepts without having characters that don't look like their past selves, like the Toa of 2008. dviddy mentioned the Red Ranger, but it's not really comparable to Bionicle, because different persons have taken the name of Red Ranger over the years, while there has already been only one Tahu in the G1.
