  1. Which software do you use to convert the .stl into a pov file ?
  2. Wow, that's great ! If you want to try some more renders, I'd glaldly send you a couple of BIONICLE / Hero Factory LDD MOCs. I render with POV-Ray, but the result is in no way comparable to what you achieve with MODO.
  3. Some new parts : I don't know if the 2x2 brick with round top would be useful, but since I had the idea, I thought "Why not ?"
  4. Leewan replied to Sylon's post in a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Nice, I like how the blue cockpit stands out. The wing design is cool too, that's a good MOC.
  5. Yup, that's what Superkalle told me yesterday.
  6. Thanks Aanchir ! But you know, I know the trick, I use a similar technique (see pic here) when I need to move precisely a part. I mainly wanted to point tout that unlike Furno, Evo and Rocka's helmets, Breeze's doesn't attach "automatically".
  7. Oh, nice ! Thanks !
  8. Yeah, it seems there are some totally new parts. The 11219 is new to me too, it looks like a Star Wars helmet, but I haven't seen it in any SW sets of the year. Maybe they are from the Series 12 CMFs ? Found ! 15499 is Calamity Drone's hair. Though, I still don't know where is 11219 from.
  9. Breeze's one too.
  10. Actually you'd need four of them : one for each corner of the 2x3 plate. This is why a 2x2 is better : if you want to change the position of the round corner, you just have to rotate the plate. ;) Anyways, I knew you had a precise idea in mind. Yeah, you could attach a 1x2 plate on each knob, attach a 1x6 or 1x8 tile if it's not too thick, and you'd have a connection point for the 2x2 round corner. It would be quite fragile, though. Indeed, round holes would allow a stronger building (EDIT : you could get such a part by cutting the pins off a Technic, Pin Connector Perpendicular 3L with 4 Pins, I might even try myself to sacrifice one or two of those to have this part). Your system seems interesting, btw. Well, I might upload those parts on Shapeways (or Sculpteo or iMaterialise, or even any other website (I don't know all of them ), if you prefer) tomorrow, thus you'll be able to get them if you really need them. x)
  11. Thanks ! Yeah but it's a more general thread, since I make all kind of parts. x) I thought I'd be more useful to make a 2x2 plate with a rounded edge (which would be more versatile than a 2x3). Like a smaller version of this. Here it is !
  12. I tried to run the .ini, but the problem persists. I might have found why it doesn't work. Perhaps it isn't related at all, but the 163rd line of the the ldd_default_colors.inc file is different from the others, and is shown in green in POV-Ray (while the others are purple / black / teal / red). It approximately looks like this, in POV-Ray : #declare ldd_colors[283] = rgb <255/255, 190/255, 145/255>; #declare ldd_colors[284] = rgb <230/255, 209/255, 230/255>; //#declare ldd_colors[294] = rgb <213/255, 220/255, 138/255>; #declare ldd_colors[294] = rgb <215/255, 250/255, 148/255>; #declare ldd_colors[296] = rgb <160/255, 160/255, 160/255>; And when I try to edit and save it, POV-Ray says that it "Failed to rename original file to .bak", and when I click on the OK button, another message appears, which says "Failed to save file 'ldd_default_colors.inc'" ; and when I edit it outside POV-Ray and I try to render, an error message appears which basically tells me that POV-Ray crashed. EDIT : O.O I'm currently rendering. I don't know why, but I tried to render a file different from the one I try to render since the beginning, and it works,I really don't know how, though. Actually, I think I know. It must have something to do with the folder where I save my .pov and .ini files, since I saved my last .pov / .ini files in a different folder, and now it works perfectly. Well, anyways, thanks for your help, JM1971.
  13. Over the last months, I designed some parts on my computer (I use CATIA), and I finally decided to share them with you. The first ones are Hero Factory / CCBS bones I created around October 2012 (which were presented on this topic last year) : Based on Aanchir's work, I created an upper torso part : I also created, this year, some System and Technic parts : (Originally suggested by Bamos) There are more pictures in the Brickshelf folder (available when public). If you have any question, suggestion, comment, criticism, or anything to say, feel free to post.
  14. Yes, but the message is still here. x/
  15. It doesn't work, the error message is still here. x/
  16. @hrontos : Thanks, I'll render it as soon as possible, but first I need some help. Last week, I modified the ldd_part_materials.inc file to try to give the parts alternative materials, but it didn't work, so I erased my modifications. Unfortunately, right after that, when I tried to render, I had this message : "\\.\LDDIncludes\ldd_default_colors.inc" line 20: Parse Error: Illegal character in input file, value is 80., with the #include "ldd_colors_declarations.bin" line highlighted. I reinstalled both POV-Ray and LDD2PovRay, I set up the correct paths, but the problem remains. x/
  17. There's one point among the new rules that caught my attention : It looks like we'll be able to submit modifications of existing sets. I think it's an interesting idea, I'm curious to see if such a project could one day get the 10k, and if so, get approved by Lego.
  18. No, there's a 3.2mm shaft at the end of the tail, which makes the connection with the Technic piece possible. ;) EDIT : Ninja'd by Bfahome.
  19. A friend from BIONIFIGS have found official pictures on Amazon, you can see them here (and in my brickshelf folder when public). They're available on pre-order, and according to amazon.fr, they'll be shipped on the 1st of June. So... chances are high for the sets to be released.
  20. This topic should be merged with this one. Also, about the round jumper, would you like something like this ?
  21. Well... I hope there's no missing comma... "No, 2014 constraction line has been cancelled."
  22. Yup. I also tried to uncheck Use custom materials, but it doesn't work either.
  23. Thanks for the tip, hrontos, but it does'nt seem to work for me... x/ I tried to give some basic bricks (1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4) the textile texture, but they are rendered with their usual texture.
  24. Does it work the other way round ? I mean, it is possible to give a "sandpaper" texture to regular, smooth parts ? Could be fun.
  25. Must say, the part that impresses me the most is the coat. It really adds to the character. Of course, the head is awesomely creative (and so is the whole MOC), but I just do love that coat.
