  1. Here's my dream home : a time-traveling one. Model built with LDD, rendered with POV-Ray. I added two additional light sources (the sonic screwdriver and the light on the top of the cabin), a reflective base plane, and some custom decals generated with polygons. The screwdriver also has a chrome effect. (Click the pic to see the full-res)
  2. I actually made some renders with the light before, but I made some modifications to the .lxf when I tried to add the 2x2 stickers, and didn't change the light's position, but I had some nice results, as you can see here. Anyways, thanks for the light's coordinates. x) And yeah, I might post my entry in the render section.
  3. Thank you ! Will definitely gonna give a try. So... these coordinates correspond to the position of the part I want to apply the sitcker, right ? I tried with a flattened 2x2 tile (worked with the lxfml), but I still have some trouble aligning it properly : But I think it could work on flat surfaces. In this case, it's the window frame that prevents me from positioning correctly the sticker/tile. (and yeah, I'm also trying the external light sources :p )
  4. Thanks ! I think I understand how it would work (I could use a 2x2 decorated tile, replace the decoration in LDD2POVRay, and turn the 2x2 itself into a sticker by using this method, but I use LDD 4.3.8, so I don't think it would work for me). So... I will try to add the decorations directly into POVRay. Though I wouldn't mind if you'd make a tutorial.
  5. One of the pictures I used for my free build entry is edited, but the other ones are untouched. Is my entry still valid ?
  6. Here's my entry ! Some houses here are huge, but mine is infinite... at least on the inside. Because yeah, I'd love to live in a TARDIS. I could go anywhere, whenever I want to. And since it's way bigger on the inside, I could have a huge Lego room. The design might remind you some other MOCs, but when it's about designing a blue police box, there are no many possibilities. Anyways, I hope you'll like it ! Here are some pictures, and the .lxf is availible here. As you can see, there was a "dummy" decoration on the 1x6 tiles, which were replaced with LDD2POVRay by POLICE BOX signs. The windows and the PULL TO OPEN sign that you see on the first two picture were rendered in POVRay. Also, the second and third pictures shows a Time Lord version of me. Or a future Doctor, when he'll finally be ginger.
  7. And here we are. AndrewClark2's Doctor Who project just got the 10000 votes, and is now in review stage.
  8. Oh, thanks, I thought it was part of the January review, since it's not on the frontpage.
  9. Any guesses on which others projects could hit the 10k before May ? The others most supported projects are unlikely, IMO, to be part of the next "batch". My guess is that only three projects (DW, TBBT and the other DW project) will be part of the next review session. And since I don't really think TBBT will become an actual set, the DW set is almost guaranteed. But maybe Lego could choose not to turn any of these projects into a set. It is possible ? Is there a rule of "at least one project will become a set" ? Anyways, I think that with this second project getting the 10k very soon, chances for a Doctor Who set are very high.

Indeed, they are impressive MOCs !
  11. Looks like flesh (Light Flesh, on BL) to me. If so, it could be fun to put a flesh head. Figs are good. I really love Scratchy, Ralph and Burns. I might get Homer and Ned too, we'll see. But overall, this is a good surprise.

Thanks guys ! Agreed. I wanted something that would sound Norse/Sacandinavian, and it took me quite a while before I would come up with this. I don't know if it means something, but I quite like it.

Hi guys ! Here's my first mecha MOC. I took inspiration from several MOCs I saw on flickr (mainly the SAFSes and this MOC), and here's the result : MOCPage I'd like to know your opinion on this MOC, so C&C are, of course, welcome. :)

With such an impressive MOC, other contestants had no chance ! ;) Head and body are awesome, and there are so many NPU's everywhere, as ever ! However, I'm not sure about the Rahkshi feet on wings. They feel too "massive", and don't really give a feather/wing feel. Have you tried Inika feet (like the one on the back) ? Beside that, this is a great MOC. Congratulations !

Nice, it really has a massive feel. The rear wheels seem too far away from the rest of the vehicle, though, I think you should try to shorten the wheelbase by one or two studs.
  16. Oh, thanks, I tried to stick as much as I could to the official designs. And the 3x11x2 curved panel is a very complex part, so that wasn't easy to get all the little details. But... yeah, I'm glad with how it turned out, and even if they are a bit dark, I must say I'm quite proud of my renders, I think they make the part look better than it would actually be.
  17. Yeah, it's hard to learn to master such a thing without someone to show you how to do. x/ But you're doing quite well with Inventor, judging by what I've seen in this topic.
  18. Well, efferman was posting his panels designs, so I thought it was a good occasion for me to show what I had in mind. x) Since I don't use Inventor, I can't compare both, but I would say it's rather easy. If you want an example, I started to use it in September 2012, and I designed these parts around October 2012. But there are so many possibilities that I'm still learning some of them (we are for example currently studying the parameters function, which could be used in this case to give my panel the dimensions I want and corresponding number of holes just by modifying several input values), and I think it would take years to totally master that beast. But we are only designing our own Lego parts, so we only need the basics. And since you already use Inventor, and knowing that it took me only a few weeks to make my Hero Factory / CCBS parts, I don't think it should be too hard for you to handle it.
  19. CATIA, it's the program we work with at my school.
  20. Interesting idea. I started to work on a 5x11x2 curved panel some weeks ago :
  21. No Moe ? Oh, that's disappointing. :/
  22. The kids who were too young / weren't even born in 1999 ? The right question here should rather be "What AFOL does want a yellow Luke ?", IMO. ;)
  23. Yeah, I personnally prefer AndrewClark2's and flailx's projects, they offer creative ways to display both the interior and the exterior, and unlike Glenbricker's project, they focus more on the actual set project than the minifigs.
  24. I think the same way. Now that the license is available, everyone is trying to take advantage of it. While Ghostbusters and BTTF were fan-projects, I suspect most of those builders to be there only for the pride/fame/whatever you want to call it rather than because they love the show and want a Lego set based on it. And as a Whovian, yes, I think it's sad. x/
  25. Or you can get them separately on Bricklink, or even directly through Lego I just tried, arms are unavailable right now, and they ask 2,55€ for a Furno without the arms, shipping not included. So it would be better to get the sets, you would have some parts for MOCcing, and you'll get your figs cheaper than if you buy them separately.
