  1. Yes, that monkey is amazing ! The 31017 is less interesting, IMO. It's again a vehicle set, nothing too exciting.

Here are the "new" arms !
  3. Very interesting idea, Aanchir ! But I think the central part would be hard to do design, because there are many different elements (double ball-cup, two ball-joints, two cross-holes). Anyways, that's a great concept. I think the T-shaped part could be replaced by a combination of this and this, which would be an improvement, IMO, since the latter could be replaced with other bones to give the body the size we want (and that would require a lower quantity of new parts, and less specialized parts).
  4. Thanks man ! Agree, waist articulation would need a totally redesigned body, with an armor in two parts : one for the torso, and one for the crotch. Maybe it's time for me to think about new parts ?
  5. I recently ordered this from Shapeways : Extremely satisfied with the smoothess, Frosted Ultra Detail almost lloks like Lego (but doesn't have the same feel). Unfortunately, this is a fragile material, so I will avoid to use these parts, I don't want to break them. More info here.
  6. Same here.
  7. There are two important points : friction, and strength. In my case, I also have one more constraint : I must try to replicate as precisely as I can the "real" HF parts. For example on the pivot parts, I made my own design, but I had to make it look like the official parts. Some differences still exist, but I think I found a good compromise between personal design and CCBS shape. So if I don ball-cups, I will have to mimic official style. Also, I made the parts available for sale on Shapeways. If anyone is interested, ask me the link(s), they are not public because I think 3D-printing is mostly a prototyping technology, and I'd prefer widely selling finalized products than 3D-printed parts (not sure if it's clear ^^).
  8. Great photography ! My favorite is Uhuraz. I really like the legs, and the body armor. But I don't think these parts are necessary, they don't really fit the general MOC's aesthetics, IMO. :/ I don't know if it was your goal, but Heuani looks "feminine", to me, with the posing, and the shapes, especially for the limbs. Speaking of which, I really like the tubing on the thighs, that's a very neat technique. The painted Hau fits the character very well, since it's matte, it helps to give the impression of a dark character. A normal shiny Hau would lessen this impression. Also, Grokk is my least favorite. It's a nice Skakdi, and I really like the legs and his Zamor holder, bit it seems very fragile and empty to me, especially compared to the other ones. The body looks a bit hollow to me.

Thanks for commenting, guys ! Yeah, I think it's because upper arms are too thin. :/ I will try to work on them.

Hello everyone ! Here's my latest MOC, and it's a mecha ! Brickshelf / MOCPage What do you think ?
  11. Thanks for all your comments guys ! Is this an hint about what can be expected next year ? Anyway, thanks for your comment, Front. It's because ball-cups are really hard to design, so I chose to focus on something that would be easier to do first. But I have some more ideas, and I will try to design parts with ball-cups. :) Honestly... about 50€.
  12. Interesting. Feet look to small, IMO. But beside that, this is a nice combiner, with a consistent color scheme. The only thing I don't like is the forearms armors, they seem a bit weird. :/
  13. I know, but don't worry, I'm not a thief, I would never use other people ideas without quoting them as original creators. Plus, I had the idea before (don't believe me ?). ;) I don't know, CCBS will be dead before I reach the 10000 votes. It's already difficult for system-based ideas to get this amount of votes, so a Hero Factory project would hardly be possible. But... well, I will think of it. But honestly, I was more thinking of making these parts and sell them myself, rather than wait months and months to discover that my project didn't pass the review stage. And IMO, the DIY method is funnier. Plus, I would be so proud to make my own Lego ! :D Also, I worked a bit on a custom 2.0 headgear. But proportions were wrong, so I had to redo it from scratch, because the part was poorly conceived (I have still things to learn... ). But I might rework on it. Here's a picture of the original version (which had never been achieved) :
  14. In Extended mode, select all the bricks you want to change the color, and create a new group with those bricks. Then, select the group, and "paint" it the color you want. I will add pictures soon. EDIT : Oh, seems your problem is already solved.
  15. Thanks guys ! :D Really ? Though, searching Lego gives plenty of results. But I think I'm the first one to make custom for Action Figures. Most vendors do minifigures-compatible items. That was my goal. The main idea was to expand the CCBS to make it compatible with the Bionicle system. Don't worry, if I get satisfying results, I will tell you. Anyway, I don't think I could keep it for myself.
  16. Hello everyone ! Some months ago, I designed several custom parts that could be parts of the current CCBS. Earlier this week, I finally decided to order them. And they arrived today. So, ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to show you the first Hero Factory custom parts ! First of all, here's a render of my parts altogether : And here are the parts I received this morning : I ordered them on Shapeways, I chose Frosted Ultra Detail. And the final result is very clean, it almost looks like real Lego parts ! Unfortunately, this material is very fragile, so I won't use them in MOCs, at the moment they are only prototypes, but I hope I will be able to produce those parts in wider quantities within the next twelve months. Here's a "comparison" with the official "equivalent" parts from Lego : And here's an example of what can be done with such parts : I could build more, but sincerely, I'm afraid to break my parts if I stress them too much. But anyways, this first try is quite concluding, and I hope I will very soon be able to make more of these. If you want to see more pictures, check the Brickshelf gallery (not public yet). P.S. : Plus, they smell good. I'm not good at recognizing odors, but I would say it smells like teen spirit almond.

    Maybe Friendly robbers.
  18. IIRC, Legends Beasts are "pure" animals who haven't drank the chi. So we should expect "real" animals. This should be interesting...

Oops, sorry, I meant Friends Advent Calendar. That seemed obvious to me, since on Jargo's picture, there's a minidoll and girly-colored small sets. Plus, it's blurry, but on the card in the background, it seems to be written LEGO Friends Advent Calendar After some research, I "found" this. Mystery solved ! Okay, that's exactly what Jargo said. So yeah, the lilac knit cap definitely comes from 2013 Friends' Advent Calendar.
  20. Leewan replied to Lasse D's post in a topic in General LEGO Discussion
    Advent calendar perhaps ?
  21. Oh, also : Spider tribe ?
  22. Great news ! I'm excited about the new Scorpions tribe ! Are the Legends Beasts action figures or speedorz (or even a totally different kind of sets) ?
  23. They could do like the UCS Millenium Falcon : Produce a new bactch of sets, but without the exclusive license plate. That way, there would be more bosses avalible, but the 20000 first ones would remain exclusives.
  24. Which means : lots of small parts no one usually think to use in MOCs. Haha, same for me. Congratulations to you, your MOC was original. I've never watched MLP, so she more reminds me of a strawberry and vanilla ice cream. Also, congratulations to the other winners. That was a great contest, very fun. Thanks to EB staff and guys at TLC. I hope there will be more contests soon.
  25. On Gorzan's sticker, the Chi orb is matte, the blue "lightning" is metallic, and the grey pattern is matte with some shiny bits. It's quite hard to explain, I think I'd better provide a scan of my sticker sheet. EDIT : Here's a scan. White dots are the shiny bits.
