  1. @ aqaz: I like the fact that you're willing to CUT your Lego parts. It shows that you have an open mind.
  2. Thanks, Merman! Now, it would be great to get ahold of the PDF Building Instructions for the 41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition set....
  3. The recurring "issues" are PISS-POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I don't know why folks praise Lego Customer Service so much; it SUCKS and I have hard proof of it, over and over.
  4. I just telephone Lego so-called "Customer Service" in Enfield, Connecticut USA to follow up. The guy there ("Matt" no-last-name) would not agree to follow up on this matter. I left a blistering Customer Feedback message after my transaction was over. I'm going to bug them every day until they meet their commitment to the customer. March 2013 June 2013 July 9, 2013 "Three strikes and you're out", as the saying goes.
  5. From the bottom-most entry on this Community.Lego.com topic, wehatch typed: "this is what i got from customer service Dear William, Thanks for getting in touch with us. We are sorry for the frustration you have experienced when waiting for the Power Functions items, William. I am sure this has been frustrating for you. Unfortunately, there has been a delay in the launch of these products. As soon as they are available and ready for purchase we will update the website. Again, we apologize for the disappointment this has caused." I guess I'm really not surprised that the Lego Marketing folks are in a different orbit than Lego Customer Service. After all, The Lego Group has taken WEEKS to post B-model instructions online (after a new set's release), posted incomplete instructions, not answered repeated requests for information, and basically demonstrated that THEY DON'T CARE. The Power Functions L-Motor and PF Servo motor was promised in March 2013, then in June 2013, then on July 9th, and now who knows? I'm really disillusioned with TLG's shabby treatment of its Technic fans.
  6. It's true that one now needs at least 100 Eurobricks posts to start a new topic. From http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=33335 , one can see that you now need to go from being a newbie "Vassal" to a "Citizen" to create a new topic.
  7. Technicmad (Nathan Thom) added the Parts List of the 41999 4x4 Crawler on Rebrickable. Using Rebrickable's "Exact Match" feature, if you already own a 9398 4x4 Crawler, you have 65.7% of the parts needed to build the 41999 4x4 Crawler. You would be "missing" 543 parts. --->
  8. On his Brickshelf gallery, Jovel posted images on how to conduct the Allround Car Competition (ACC) events: Oscarverbeek posted these two YouTube videos of the LowLUG ACC fun:
  9. The BrickPicker.com LEGO Price Guide can give you a rough value for your assembled sets. You could sell them on eBay, since it has a HUGE audience and there are LOTS of people looking for used Lego. I would not sell all of them in one batch, since few people have $3,500 in pocket change. I would sell the assembled sets individually, and the loose parts in batches of no more than $100 each. Be sure to take several pictures to show potential bidders what you are selling. If your eBay auctions start out at $19.99 or so (even for a $200 set), it will attract attention. Post your auction on a weekend evening, so that the automatic 7-day bidding period will attract the most views.
  10. I like the curved roof made out of Lego Technic Liftarms -- it reminds me of efferman's MOCs where he used Liftarms to form curved wheel fenders.
  11. @ Anio: Nice review! I used Translate.Google.com to translate from the original French to this English translation ; others can change the "Translate To" language to match their country.
  12. @ blaz62: Nice dragster; could it operate on two Power Functions Medium motors (instead of two PF XL motors) to get twice the speed? Would PF Medium motors provide enough torque to get it moving from a standing start?
  13. @ Myxo and Philo: Good idea, but I noted that your old Lego Mindstorms RCX 1.0 programmable bricks already has a plug receptacle for the charger's 9V AC-to-DC power adapter. For the Lego Power Functions Battery Box, one has to drill a hole in the side of the box and glue a female 1/8" plug receptacle for the adapter's male tip. @ Philo: I recall that you wrote this topic about the Lego Power Functions Battery Box, complete with picture instructions on how to access the inside:
  14. @ rm8: When you were working with The Lego Group's designers, did you consider providing a different tires than the ones that had already been used on the 9398 4x4 Crawler set? I know that any new tires could have added to the final cost of the 41999 set, but those Lego balloon tires are not as grippy as RC-type rock crawler tires. When the "You Design It, We Make It" competition was ongoing, many Lego Technic AFOLs were clamoring for the return of Lego Power Puller tires & wheels -- were they considered?
  15. @ Paul B: Cypr2107 made this review of the Lego Technic 42000 Race Truck B-Model:
  16. @ efferman and rm8: OK -- here is the hyperlink for those smaller RC4WD Dirt Grabber 1.55" All Terrain Tires: SPECIFICATIONS: * Width 24mm / 0.94inch * Outer Diameter: 2.99" (76mm) * 1.55 Wheel size * Each tire weight: 1.15 oz / 33 g
  17. @ rm8: I copied/pasted the specifications for the RC4WD Dirt Grabber 1.9" All Terrain Tires directly from this RC4WD webpage. It is hard to find third-party RC-type tires that are relatively LOW PROFILE but not too narrow. Efferman already shows how they fit on the Lego 44772 wheels in his photo above.
  18. @ efferman: Those RC4WD Dirt Grabber 1.9 " All Terrain Tires will look good on the standard Lego 44772 wheels, even if they are a tad narrow: SPECIFICATIONS: * Outer Diameter: 3.85inch/97.8mm * Width: 1.22" (31mm) * Inner Diameter: 1.9" (48mm) * Each tire weight: 1.85 oz / 52 g
  19. Perhaps The Lego Group could name the possible flagship set with a euphemism (such as a "Sanition Engineer station" or "Refuse Truck", and not a "garbage truck"). A BIG, pneumatic creation like gabfigo/ gabrisn77's BIG Lego Technic pneumatic truck would be great (Brickshelf gallery) ( ):
  20. We don't know for sure yet -- continue to monitor the Lego Technic Designers Blog for more information from Jeppe Juul Jensen in the coming days.
  21. @ rm8: Of course (since you are the designer of this set), you should be able to obtain as many 41999 sets as you would like! Maybe your contacts at The Lego Group could "set aside" some of them for you....
  22. We will find out in 5 days (on July 9th), but I'm going to guess that they are both going to be priced the same as the Power Functions XL motor.
  23. @ Kumbbi: I like your MOC, but I can't imagine The Lego Group actually producing a set based on a "garbage truck". Only 5% of all Lego sets are bought by AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego); the other 95% are bought by parents or rich kids. Here's what would happen: Mom to her 13-year-old son: "Happy Birthday, Timmy!" Timmy: "Oh, I got a Garbage Truck for my birthday...."
