Yeah, the tracks always seem to work pretty well with smaller vehicles, but when you started making larger ones, you lose the actual functionality of them. They tend to just slip around a lot, and you lose the fine control that you usually have with smaller tracks.

Fantastic!! I've been trying to come up with something like this for ages...... A small compact suspension without all the fancy linkage pieces (that I wish I had ).

What is brick slopes? Brick Slopes is a Lego Fan event held in Utah, similar to brick world. I wasn't sure what to expect, because this is it's first year, and there don't seem to be a ton of AFOLS in this area, but it turned out to be a success. I was really hoping for some Technic, but there just wasn't very much. Nothing really out of the ordinary. Some more.... This was probably one of my favorite things there. Has anybody seen this before? It seems like somebody posted something similar to this a couple weeks ago. The model railroads there were very impressive. This is the most impressive model of the Avengers Helicarrier I've ever seen. This picture doesn't even come close to giving it justice. :thumbup: BrickMania had their show stopping coastal battle display. :thumbup: They were also there selling some cool stuff. It was so cool to see this stuff in real life. Some more collections.... :thumbup: Another cool thing at the show was the star wars display. Different people all signed up to bring different sets from the years. Every Star Wars set ever produced was on display there. Modern Brick Warfare was also there selling stuff. Yeah, I wanted to use traditional steering, but its hard to incorporate that into such a small chassis.

Yep, the wheels are a little small, but these are the only wheels I own in a set of six.... I wish I had some better wheels.

This is a moc I've created. I sort of just threw it together, so it's not based off of any vehicle in particular. It's got the Tatra suspension, and crawls over uneven terrain just wonderfully. When I finished the front I noticed it sort of looks like an older range rover, didn't do that on purpose though. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Hopefully I can put together a video in the next week or so.....

Here in the US you can get it at almost any grocery store, however I don't know how it would be in other countries. You could probably put a small tank on a vehichle, however it gets pretty sketchy trying to get the pressure just right. (you don't want your tank to turn into a bomb) I actually thought of making some sort of valve that automatically regulated the pressure. I've just never gotten to building something complicated that runs off of dry ice because it's just to much of a hassle. It can get pricey if you are using a lot, and dry ice only lasts +-24 hours. But there are definitely some awesome possibilities out there.

Thanks, With the bottle filled about one third with dry ice it lasted a solid 20 minutes. If you add water with the dry ice it increases the sublimation process, which increases pressure, but that cuts the time about in half.

Dry Ice works pretty good with LPEs, however it gets a little bit sketchy trying to regulate the pressure. I built Nico's 1 cylinder a while back and ran it off of dry ice. The only downside is that after running it for a couple of minutes condensation built up in the valve, and when I turned the valve, I could feel it was a little wet. This didn't seem to have any effect on the performance.

I'm not actually sorting pennies and trying to make money off them, I simply made this as a proof of concept. Just a challenge. If I was going to sort hundreds of dollars worth of pennies anyway, the idea would be to just sell them on ebay. (As far as I know theres nothing wrong with that) Good Point though. Thanks.

This would only be able to work with the US pennies, but that's because I ballanced the scales, and built it to work with them. I think the pennies from other countries are all a little different, but I'm sure the concept would work with any coin that has two different weights.

Lately I've been in the mood to make MOCs that haven't ever been done before, or improve upon unique ones. I haven't seen any descent penny sorters,so if any of you guys know of any please let me know. Copper Pennies are worth 230% of their face value just because of the metal contained in them. Some people hoard the pennies so that if they're ever taken out of circulation they could melt them down and sell the metal. I'm not one of these people, but I this would be a fun and challenging moc. There's two ways to sort copper pennies from the zinc ones without any special equipment: 1)Date: Copper pennies were made from 1909 to 1982. 2)Weight: Copper pennies weigh 3.11 grams, while zinc ones weigh just 2.5 grams. Naturally I used the weight to determine what kind of penny it is. There are two scales in the machine, each one being identical. When the penny is dispensed onto the scale if it is copper it will fall off, if it is zinc it will stay on top of the scale and will be pushed off by a fork into a different direction than the copper pennies. The entire thing is mechanical, all driven by a single NXT motor.

Thanks, When I first came up with the idea I was worried that the bushings would slip and come out of place. Turned out it works great!

Here's my latest attempt at a race car: Bugatti Type 35. I built the body in more of a minimalistic design to reduce weight, and increase speed. The power is provided by two L motors, and the steering is controlled by a servo. https://lh6.googleus...E=w1233-h925-no The steering system is something I came up with. I don't think I've ever really seen this used before(please tell me if you've seen this anywhere else before),and it seems to work really well. In the video above you can see the steering in action. I'll post a video of it driving as soon as I can.

Here's an idea I have for controlling the spin. Rather than having two separate motor controls, I think that it would be easier to control it mechanically, which would allow for much finer tuning to the spin speed than individual motors would offer. There are rubber bands connecting the control lever to the differential outputs. When the lever is turned, friction is applied to one of the two differential outputs, resulting in a faster speed from the other output. ........I'm not saying that individual motors wouldn't work, but I just think this is a cool idea.

I thought it would be really cool to have two fly wheels instead of one, spinning one faster than the othercould then bring in top and bottom spin. Or if I could build four fly wheels on it I could have spin in any direction!

I actually wanted to put a net surrounding the opposing side of the table to stop the balls, and a gutter of some sort to guide the balls back to a feeder, that would feed the balls back into the pitcher. But I trashed that Idea, because I didn't have the means to make a net, or something to stop the balls.
