  1. Awesome scene - I like the crowd, and your damaged building turned out really well. I'd love to see more details if you get a chance to shoot more pics.
  2. Looks great - you've got some wonderful microscale builds, and I agree with Zaael - the forced perspective shots work really well.
  3. Lol, nice story - you *almost* made me feel some sympathy for the rebel I like all your dialogue, though - it does a good job fleshing out the characters in just a few lines. I also really like your custom robot, and I think the "air" panel works well. I do have a few minor suggestions (since all builds are considered WIP's until the contest deadline). I think if you extended the scene 5 or 10 studs on either side, it would help your creation look more complete. You don't need to make anything super detailed - just enough so that we can't see the edges of the build. It looks like you use the same photo backdrop that I do (large pieces of cardstock-type paper?) I'd suggest picking up a few black sheets as well - I've found that the black background can really make "in space" scenes shine, and it also makes it easier to cut out the background in a photo editing program if you feel like putting the extra time in. Lastly, it looks like you have a sweet microscale ship in the background, but we can't see it very well. I'd suggest framing it a bit more in the window, and maybe tilting it at a slight angle? That way we can appreciate the detail you've built into it. Overall, though, this is a cool build and I'm interested to see where your story goes.
  4. Looks good! The AT-DP helmets fit in well with the snowtroopers, especially the ground commander. You should check out the "Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka" forum if you haven't already. There's an episode currently posted here and the deadline isn't until the end of the month, so you could totally come build for the Empire!
  5. Wow, this is an amazing build! I love all the greebling, and those angled sides are great.
  6. 50 credits to Bob please.
  7. Thanks! It was (loosely) based on Seattle Fire's Engine 18, which is stationed in my neighborhood It is really strange that we haven't had any firefighter CMF's yet, especially since we've already had six based on police themes (Policeman, Traffic Cop, Constable, Sheriff, Detective and Chief Wiggum). Anyone have any idea why we haven't seen any firefighter collectible minifigs yet?
  8. Thanks! LOL, you definitely sound like a Seattleite if "light rain" counts as wonderful weather Thanks! And yep, good call on the 'White Mesa' Thanks guys! Yeah, I should have explained the ERT more - ah well, I always feel like my posts are running too long already. Yes, Half Life is correct - thanks!
  9. Awesome drone! I agree, the angled engines on the back are really nice and the whole ship has a very sleek, slick look.
  10. This turned out really well! I love the Scarab - awesome angles on the body, and those big tires look great. I also like the three-person cockpit, and as for the Dragonfly ...
  11. @Jonwil @BigG: I think sometimes our automatic reaction when people criticize what LEGO has to offer is to say "just build it yourself," but Steven does build his own fire MOCS - IMO he's one of the best builders of modern N. American fire equipment. I think he's got some good points about the accessories, and it would be really nice to see LEGO release the 1x4x4 lift door in red again. It was only released in red once, back in 1996, and the part currently sells for $20 each (!!) on bricklink. @Farnheim: I just spent some time going through your gallery and I love your builds! I never thought 4-wide trucks could look so good/modern. @Sasbury: Have you checked out any of David Henley's builds? He's made some excellent minifig-scale fire tools, including a stokes basket. @all: I think one of the challenges LEGO faces with the fire line (and the train line) is that there's such a big difference between the European and American equipment and uniforms. Sometimes it seems like they're not sure which one they're trying to portray, so we end up with figures and equipment that aren't quite right for either region. Just for fun, here's my firetruck MOC from a few years ago (heavily inspired by Sasbury), which I keep meaning to update but haven't finished yet.
  12. Location: F09 - Arium Minor Tags: Civil Building 20 Marzn 3816 Deep below the mountainous surface of Arium Minor... ... named in honor of the man who first brought our two groups together, the “John Hannibal Center for High Energy Research” is the first facility to be jointly owned and operated by Octan and the Merchant Confederacy. The experiments conducted here will help us gain a deeper understanding of the GATES, and the gravitational anomalies which power them. Today, we'll be starting up the reactor for its first official test run. Control room, please confirm your status. Control room is a 'Go.' Emergency response team, please confirm your status. ERT is a 'Go.' Very good. Power to stage 1 emitters in 3,2,1. I'm seeing predictable phase arrays. Stage 2 emitters activating...now. Overhead capacitors to one oh five percent. Uh, it's probably not a problem, probably, but I'm showing a small discrepancy in... well, no, it's well within acceptable bounds again. Sustaining sequence. Oh dear! Shutting down - no, attempting to shut down. It's not - it's not shutting down! Aaaaah! ERT to control room - what the hell is going on!?! Don't worry, it's okay - look- ...the field has stabilized. It's ... beautiful. Something - something is emerging from the field... Oh my gods... Gordon - open the door to the chamber! Jimmy, get the medical team down here. But, the Rhumkopf-Brickowski field- It's okay the field is dissipating. Now, open the door. Roger, opening door to the containment chamber and - holy sh*t. What the hell are you staring at? Don't test me buddy, I've had a long, long day... Explorer Caslaug-Hing ... welcome back.
  13. All my credits to Bob please.
  14. Location: E01 - Donwarr Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle Lu's Log - 31 Janurali 3816 I'm not sure anyone will ever find this log. I'm not sure where I am. The last thing I remember … the ship. We found my parent's ship... Earlier – on Jurin II: Gods CLAPPIE – there it is. The Pioneer. The last Explorien ship launched before the company was acquired by the Octan Corporation. Assumed lost, along with its crew of 40, when it disappeared during the G.A.T.E. transit to Andromeda. Where's the gravitational anomaly? How close can we get? Lu, I'm no longer picking up the anomaly – it appears to have dissipated. CLAPPIE, something's wrong. I'm reading the ship's beacon loud and clear, but the ship itself isn't showing up on the scanners. You're right. Perhaps you should stop accelerating toward the ship. I'm not accelerating - Interesting. It looks like the gravitational anomaly has returned. Hang on CLAPPIE, this could get rough! CLAPPIE, what just happened? Where are we? I … I don't know. Lu – I can't access any of my peripherals! I – I'm only getting data from your suit sensors... this must be an error – restarting! Goodbye! Greetings! I'm your Corporate Law and Planetary Politics Incident Evaluator - oh no - I'm still cut off! Lu – is this … is this what it's like to be human? I'm so sorry … I had no idea... Human, tell your master to be calm. The <situation> is temporary. Gaaah! Who are you?!? Where am I?!? You are safe, although I fear your vehicle fell back into <4-dimensional space-time> when we intervened. You are in a <between place>. Is your master well? We are unable to <communicate> with its mind, the way we can with yours. My master? You mean CLAPPIE? Yes, you serve the <digital super-intelligence>, do you not? No … CLAPPIE is an Artificial Intelligence – created by humans. They serve us. … Of course. What an <interesting> perspective. Who are you? We ... are the keepers of the G.A.T.E.S. ------------------------- More pictures of the Pioneer:
  15. Haha, love it! That's the perfect face for "Roy LaFleur" and you do a great job with minifig posing throughout the build.
  16. Hey Puvel, welcome! You should be added to the PM in the next day or two.
  17. Awesome rock structures - I know from experience how hard those can be to get right. I also really like the rounded platforms on the top of the spaceport. Great build!

"Ishmael, are you flying a PeliCAN or a PeliCAN'T ?" This was a rad build - I like how you used the handlebars to angle the frog legs, and those rover wheels are cool - do they actually roll? It was fun seeing all the different parts of the Axle from your prior builds (which I'm impressed are still together).
  19. Thank you! Thanks! I'm definitely excited by all the new trans-orange parts coming out with NexoKnights. I'm hoping the next segment of Lu's story will be posted next week. Thank you - and I agree, it's an excellent show! Thanks! Thank you! I'm hoping we'll get more decorated microfigs in a set which is cheaper than the Helicarrier.
  20. Although I think MANTIS tactics are dirty and low, and that pirates ought to be kicked out of an open airlock ... that is a damn fine ship. So many great details - I'm a sucker for greebles, and you did a great job, especially on the front with the antenna and the lights. I love how you made detachable cargo pods, and I'm really impressed that you managed to include an interior as well. Awesome work!

Great landscape - those dark red trees and the carnivorous plant are awesome.
  22. Wow - you went all out this week! The ship looks great; I really like the curved sand green/dark red panels framing the canopy, and the triangle exhaust on the back is perfect.
  23. Very cool rover! What is that satellite dish piece from?
  24. That's a nice hi-rail crane! The MANTIS drone is cool too. I think the tracked rover could use some antennas or greebling on the roof, but I think the overall shape works really well.
  25. Awesome build! Very cool that you made it remote control, and I like that you included details like the entry ramp and working top hatch.
