  1. its why lego made 4ws on the crawler 9398 using CV joints with the new hubs inside large wheels will make it turn better but less ability to handle a lot of torque
  2. I have 2 of the above boxes (one black one white) and I also have the cable on the right - though I remember trying this out a while ago and it didn't work though I think I tried wit the the IR Receiver inbetween - it should work direct though
  3. Love it.... looking at my models to see if I have enough parts.... going to maybe have to make it! I don't do that for any model you know... it has to be special...
  4. this is the spirit of the old sets and the negative press they have been getting about sets being too complete that they are not stimulating imagination
  5. Great reviews as always - next time though send all the boxes to me and I will do the reviews for you!
  6. nice lines and I like how you've done the steering hubs/suspension/steering ... I would buy it alone for the implementation of these if it was an official set reminds me of the 6 wheeler from the ideas book of many years ago... I made my own version once many moons ago:
  7. your obsession with walking lego is worrying me that you are building an army of automata to take over Billund... gets my vote anyway
  8. grown man in a kids park wearing long black gloves..... you're gonna get arrested one day super little model!
  9. how about the F1 car hubs and CV joints and making it more centre point steering - I know you said no bump steer but with those bendy 6L arms and such a distance away from the centre point of steering crawling could be an issue in some situations
  10. coming along nicely indeed - unimog tyres would make it look more like the original
  11. you need the torque to overcome the inertia to get the thing moving - so maybe some sort of variable transmission would help or just a simple LO-HI ratio gear box
  12. syringes are great in schools for showing the principle of how master/slave cylinders work and basic hydraulics and its great to see technic compatible connectors for the syringes problem is if you add a compressor and pump away happily - the syringes will shoot out as they have no stoppers
  13. like the wright brother's plane - they were happy it took off for a few seconds... then they made some aerodynamic adjustments (lost some weight etc..)
  14. depends which way in the ball joints will go - though if you force them the go in the wrong side of the stoppers one anyway and horror of all horrors you could always cut the tabs off if you were really desperate and needed to
  15. wasn't just a mod the 2CV Sahara 4x4 was a production vehicle with two engines, two starters - two ignition keys.... fuel tank under the seats...
  16. "...has no right to work" is what people would say of the 747 if they saw one in the 1920s is what people would say of electric lightbulbs when they were invetned - but as Edison said "I have not failed 10,000 times I just found 10,000 ways that do not work.... getting it airborne is possible - keeping it airborne is the next episode of this adventure...
  17. get the unimog sell it 6 months later and I'd be suprised if you can't buy 2 major sets out of it ....
  18. I see a scrambler which looks like lots of fun but no dirt.... incredible details on this one - i love the brake calipers
  19. as with the model - the video doesnt fail to impress - excellent technical skills all round!
  20. some nice details in there - you can't get that with studless beams... solid as the original thing you could drive through a wall and come out the other side - car still ok
  21. Very nice looking off-roader huge caster(castor?) angle needed for the pull back to work properly - not much ground clearance - liited by the wheels of the sets you chose but that would look ace with larger wheeels
  22. "the gears that are visible in the photo were substitued later by the knobs" ...after getting tired of cleaning up the ground away gear dust from the floor....no doubt
