  1. Lego on Juno Mission This is so cool! I wish they'd release a special minifig set of these. I'd certainly buy them. They could use the money to fun kids science in schools.
  2. Lego gets too caught up in "if we make it pink and sparkly girls will buy it" mentality. While I loved some of the Belville fantasy sets for the magical sparkly bits, they worked just as well in the Harry Potter sets in none pink tones. If Lego would create a subtheme to either Castle or City using either a familiar book series like Madeliene or even create their own story books that use scenes from the books to make sets based on scenes (much like Harry Potter) I think that would be fantastic. They also need to abandon the different scale thing too, girls have the same dexterity as boys in building things. The larger Belville scale never made sense to me in that if they wanted to add regular Lego sets the minifigs made no sense against the Belville sized dolls. By keeping the scale the same they would open up other Lego collectors (adult males and females) who would buy the sets for the goodies (ie furniture and accessories etc). There are tons of Lego colors now and even I bought a girls bucket to get a few of the newer colors and I think that would be successful for a girls subtheme as well. Keep the fun accessories, a dollhouse type set up, use lots of colors, add in a few more animal molds including maybe some new horse molds in running or jumping positions (like other collectors wouldn't go nuts for those for other themes?!) and possibly book tie ins, there you go!
  3. I just picked up this set today at Barnes and Noble books out of their clearance area for 50% off. They had a handful of this same set available here in Medford Oregon if someone wanted one and also a heads up if they are on sale at other B&N.
  4. Three of the new Kingdom sets are available on Toys R US online right now. I saw everything but the Mill.

I'm a newbie here and haven't done a review tutorial yet, so not sure I am permitted to post a review yet.. As for going well with the Family Home, I just built that one as well and this new house is I would say more "sporty" in it's main color choices of blue, white, red and tan. I'd say they compliment each other, although this house is smaller and so the overall footprint of the house makes it feel less like a house and more a small cottage. Oddly one thing I noticed about the design is that the wall of the garage is open to the rest of the "living space" with no inner wall so it is sort of strange. I love this set however and plan on picking up another one this week for parts as I'm gathering resources for a Magic shop MOC, and need the roof bricks.

Yay! I scored an Lego 5891 Apple Tree House at Fred Meyer here on sale for 35.99, pretty good deal. I saw it on the shelf and gasped, luckily I was with my two best friends who are also AFOL's as well. They got their Lego fix today as well, they found Lego brand storage bins. I'll post pics soon of the set and of the bins, I only got a large bin and a flat bin, they got a stack set that was really cool. edited to add link to Flickr set: Lego 5891 Apple Tree House
  7. Hi sorry for the delay I just won a set of dwarves off of ebay. I'll be putting an ad up soon for the Star Wars mini figs for sale or trade. Thanks for the interest.
  8. I really want a dwarf battle pack or a group of dwarves, in trade I have some Star Wars Mini Figs...I have a regular C-3pO, R2D2 and Boba Fett, Old Obi Wan and Qui Gon Jinn. If this is a weird or unreal trade let me know I've never traded mini figs before...Thanks! (forgive the spelling on the title, can't figure out how to go in and edit it..)

Is 5891 the Apple Tree house now available places? I keep seeing sets here and there on Ebay from different parts of the country. Any official word that its out early and if so WHERE!? I want one or two or three..hehe
  10. I'm up at one in the morning listening to Eddie Izzard on Netflix, with sweaty palms holding the box trying to tell myself I should hold out till Xmas...I'll never make it...hehe
  11. Hi, just joined recently, started buying some sets, just got the Family Home and the Medieval Village. I have been collecting since I was a kid, I'm 37 now. I'm under Brickset under the same name have my sets listed. I love Lego, if I'm stressed out or need a break I settle down and start building. My latest project is a magic shop sort of based off of The Magic Box on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm really glad to have found this site...
  12. I just got this set on Wednesday, haven't opened it yet. I can't decide if I want to make it now or wait till I get time off for Christmas.
  13. Yes that is the one on the Youtube video..so its a multiplayer video game? I had no idea...still cool though. I am curious now though if some of the themes transfer to the games or ones from the games transfer to sets.
  14. I just got the Family Home from Lego Shop @ Home and they included a Lego 2010 poster sort of previewing for the coming year. From the looks of it, it had a "ghostbusting" set and adventure minifig, even a dirigible set that sort of looked like steampunk...I wondered if the poster has been discussed on here before. (I'm new..my first post..)
