REVIEW: 71018 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17
@WhiteFang Thanks for the review. Don't change a thing about your reviews. It is indeed a lot to read, but it's clear you enjoy the process, and I appreciate the thought and hard work it takes. As for the people who prefer a different review style, they can simply go read someone else's boring review. When a new CMF Series release is imminent, your review is the first one I look for.

That's probably the simplest way. I couldn't find the link for the LXF in this site's forum thread, but here's one on a LEGO LDD site that looks pretty good: http://ldd.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/18b50c5b-d796-4838-a1b5-1ce3fccf760c?index=1&searchword=10195

Regarding the AT-OT inventory, start with the entire set's inventory, and consider the instructions as being "all" or "nothing". For "all", go through the instructions for the Dropship and deduct the pieces from the inventory. For "nothing", mark the pieces needed for the AT-OT. Probably not a lot of overlap in the colors used in each vehicle. For example, most of the white will be on the Dropship; and the LBG and DBG will be for AT-OT. Even in cases where the colors overlap, the parts used for each vehicle are likely one or the other. Shouldn't take too long, really.

Future Star Wars Sets
I like the red/blue x-wing idea. Call the set Rebel Squadron X-wing Starfighter. For the minifigures, how about Red Leader, Red Five, Blue Leader, Blue Squadron Pilot, and two astromech droids. That would make it similar in size to the two TFA X-wings ($80). I would expect to see the Rebel leadership minifigures to appear in the larger or capital ships, like a Hammerhead Corvette, or Tantive IV (which ought to include a new young Leia).

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
I'm betting the iconic Microfighter is an A-wing. The Y-wing was already made as set 11912. I suppose they could beef it up, as that particular model is light on parts. Although, thinking of the Rogue One tie-in, maybe Tantive IV. With that guy Vader chokes out at the opening of A New Hope. (Captain Antilles) I also don't think Krennic pilots his shuttle. He's much too high level for that. The Emperor or Vader would not pilot their own shuttle. And Kylo Ren can barely wield a light saber.

Since the new Resistance X-wing set (blue/gray) is coming out soon, have people noticed if Poe's X-wing (black/orange) is becoming harder to find? I was at a local TRU and Walmart and noticed that the black/orange one was not on the shelves.

You must be referring to this collection: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Star-Wars-Classic-Collection-5004243 It's not discounted at all from the normal prices... $130+110+70+50+30 = $390.

I'm making a trip to the LEGO store in downtown Chicago next week. For my 41st birthday I get pick a set (or maybe sets) in the ~$200 price range. I'm leaning heavily towards the Red Five X-Wing, but I also like the MF Haunted House, and Tower of Orthanc. My kids love The LEGO Movie and I could get the Sea Cow; a bit pricey though. Star Wars is probably my favorite theme, it's what got me back into LEGO. Any other Star Wars sets or other sets I should be considering? I'm not interested in modulars. And if it was already available, I could totally see getting the new UCS Tumbler. Or the new Star Destroyer and something else...The Cantina, I guess. So, what would you suggest?

LEGO Star-Wars VS China
Here's a tip... When you search for stuff on eBay, refine your search so that it includes only items originating from the United States (assuming you're in the USA, of course). On the full website, the option is called Item Location and on the mobile app it's under Refine > Shipping > Item Location. I wish there was a way to set that option permanently! Practically all those clone/fake brand listings that clutter up the search results will go away. I like to browse the entire LEGO category for auctions that are ending soon or newly listed items, and to do searches like "lego minifigure lot" that tend to have a lot of clone brands.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Pardon this analysis of the 75000-series set numbers, it's something I like to do... 75000 - 75014 Winter 2013 (15 sets) 75015 - 75025 Summer 2013 (11 sets) 75026 - 75027 (unassigned) 75028 - 75046 Winter 2014 (19 sets) 75047 (unassigned) 75048 - 75056 Summer 2014 (9 sets) 75057 (unassigned) 75058 - 75059 Summer 2014 (2 sets) 75060 UCS Slave I (apparently) 75061-75083 (unassigned) 75084 Wookie Gunship (Winter 2015) I wouldn't count on seeing something for 75047; I think the time for that one has passed. Examining the set numbers (and particularly the exclusive sets) further: 1. It has so far been unprecedented to have a set number gap within a wave. 2. Exclusive sets of each of the prior waves (sets 75012-14, 75024-25, and 75044-46) were positioned at the end of the set number range for that wave. 3. Three exclusive sets in the Winter and two in the Summer. Walmart and TRU get one exclusive in each wave and Target gets one in the Winter wave. 4. The pattern so far suggests that both 75057 and 75058 will be retailer exclusives. I assume 75058 will be exclusive to Walmart or TRU. 5. Something new with this wave is placing the UCS sets within the theme set numbers instead of in the 10000-series. Last year in "UCS" we got the 10240 X-Wing and 10236 Ewok Village. The two known examples this year are 75059 Sandcrawler and 76023 Tumbler. Despite all that, it does seem rather late in the season to be hearing about 75057...

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Found 75033 Microfighter ISD at Books A Million for $6.99. That seems to be the regular price; the other five Microfighters were $10.99.
