  1. I think we can cross the rumor that Chima was going to have HF-like figures: http://www.brickset.com/browse/years/?year=2013&Theme=Legends%20Of%20Chima
  2. I think the most interesting advance is the way those exo force arms were added to the hero cores. It is either a new torso piece with handle bars like Shakar mentions in his images, or it might be a separate piece like that is attached to the back. The later would probably involve a solution to the empty backs. BTW, I find it hard to believe the heroes are larger than the villains or vice versa in this wave. Maybe they are all (except furno) the same price?
  3. They would make sense as a new theme or as a Bionicle reboot. But they don't really fit in HF. Will likely be buying many of these buy only for the bricks. I don't like that the heroes all have the same face :/
  4. Looking better. I can't remember a year in which Bulk was not a set to look forward. Is Furno XL same size as villains? Seems TLG gave up on titans. Pyrox seems to have transparent orange claws! Same with Scarox' transparent teeth. Really disliking the glatorian look in the villains, except for bruizer which has something original going on.
  5. I am not too excited. Honestly, I am more excited about ninjago's little red mech this wave. The heroes are looking very medieval and most of the villains look organic. Except the rocky one. I am a space guy and was happy we got inorganic completely stuff after all those years of bionicle. The visual style reminds me more than I'd like to the Glatorian era. The heroes' heads look like a transparent version of the 2.0 helmet, so that alone will make me have to buy some of them.

I hate the galaxy patrol helmet. Orange print is a terrible replacement for a true visor. It's the lack of armor that bothers me. Edit: There is a chance the catalog pictures were prototypes without the galaxy patrol gear.
  7. An emphasis in them being evil looking makes me think Nebula is going to be the main bad guy afterall. Two theories: * Last wave, Nebula just uses his 2010 design. * Second-last wave: We will get a Final Nebula in the Summer.

I will wait to see the sets in shelves before getting excited about this at all. I am still overcoming the grief of getting super excited about Alien Conquest only for them not to even appear in stores around here.
  9. If I were a HF designer I would make Von Nebula medium-villain sized but riding a dark mechanical Dragon. Why a dark mechanical Dragon? Because if I were a HF designer, I would be able to do it.
  10. I'd like Bulk , Stormer and/or Stringer to go evil. If it happened with Nessie once, then it can happen again.
  11. Now that we have actual names, I think it is time to have a real HF 2013 thread. This is no longer speculation. Rock on. This would be fine by me.
  12. I hope not. Their only advantage that they used bricks was that when you invitably disassembled them out of being so horrible you could reuse some of the bricks on other things. HF's build system is better for making figures.

Classic space would seem colorful. With all those basic-colored astronauts and the blue ships.
  14. They look like helmets, I guess there is hope. Pretty much obvious it is not a historic theme. Time to move it.
  15. I bet they would avoid to make it based on an ethnicity like that. Or at least they won't make it obvious at all. They had a lot of issues merely for using Maori language in Bionicle.
  16. Will stay skeptic then.
  17. I'll be skeptic as long as the same source claims there will be TMNT sets.
  18. Except it does not look good. It looks forced. A good brick is one that is difficult not to use. It is not a brick you put effort into putting in a moc just so you can prove it is usable. It is not a brick that you have to be forced to include into a moc just so people don't say you have no imagination. That kind of ruins the whole game. You know, if the main purpose of a brick is to show that you have "imagination", then the brick has no purpose at all. Meanwhile, there are 5 HF additions that would look much better in there. I have a Pohatu MoC attempt that uses them as legs too. It is awful. And those awful large bricks are just the beginning of the mountain of fail that is Bionicle build system.
  19. Such a research is sexist by nature. So, that's the ironic part, I guess?
  20. Ok, I could speak for hours about this, but let me focus on the first thing I think about. This is from the original toa: small/Medium sets have had these large molds that eventually have no use. After many bulks of Bionicle bricks. I ended having to dispose these Toa torsos and also most of my bohrok torsos (I left like 1% of them "just in case" but I never used them either). Similar torsos for the metru. Some Vahqi. It is a disease. A large brick that is only good for a specific use, and is over decorated, including that gear-like thing that seems to have no purpose at all. These things use so many storage space and, to be honest, I have never seen a MoC that would tell me it is useful at all to keep these bricks. It is a pervasive issue that infected Bionicle since the beginning. That most of the body from a HF set comes from actual assembled parts rather than this sort of mold is such a great improvement. They are LEGO technic themes, so they were included in my initial assertion.
  21. "Well-written" and "badly-written" are the "bloat" and "usability" of the entertainment industry. They have become expressions that have no meaning at all and are only used selectively to complain or praise without substance. Bionicle is poorly designed for all scales. So I see HF as an improvement. Anyway, if a valid large HF shouldn't have any Bionicle pieces. I say then that a valid large Bionicle shouldn't have any LEGO Technic pieces. Please show them. I don't like it:/I think that a big flaw with Bionicle is that most large constructions look the same. Hey. bohrok shields!
  22. *dances at grave*
  23. Why don't my sets and MoCs look like shellshock? I don't think this is fair.

If TLG keep making ultra build figures, I hope they focus to inorganic guys. This set looks great to be honest. It beats the hasbro stupid things because it is buildable. And it beats the megabloks buildable figures because it actually does not rely at all on bricks designed specifically for it, except for the helmet.
  25. I wish LEGO somehow lock the internet in a way that stops people of finding out the new sets until 2013. We did not even get the complete 2012-I wave yet. Would not be nice to worry about 2013 so much in advance when I cannot even get the rest of the first 2012 wave.
