  1. The comic con figures from last year are still different from the ones that were released in sets. Even though there are exclusive comic con figures. Nobody has to miss them. You can always buy from a reseller or go to comic con yourself...
  2. Anti-heroes would still be heroic, just with less ethical methods. I think Von would rather make a villain factory, which could end in a situation in which the story has anti-villains... Villainous dudes that do not want to be evil but have no choice. Another think Von could do is, instead of making a villain factory, use the information he got to sabotage hero factory and cause heroes to appear with malfunctions or something.
  3. The original build is basically a Bionicle titan. It is highly unlikely the new set would reuse that build.
  4. Feeling the contents does not really have a 100% success ratio. Unless you have plenty of time to really feel every single bit of each bag. It is also very dependent on the minifig you are looking for.
  5. In one of the stores in here, the clerks are kindly using the dot system to identify each bag's figure and write down the name of the figure in the bag. Then charge you 3.14 USD for each bag and you don't have to guess anymore. I feel lucky.

Good review. I think build complexity is just fine lately. Sure it is not LEGO technic, but then again, those who want LEGO technic complexity could just buy LEGO technic. I think Hero factory as a whole poses different challenges than build complexity. Kids' mental abilities may not be super-challenged, but in order to make something with a simple build look good, you do need to be creative and stuff. This set is basically the best piece pack ever. You get tubes in all colors imaginable, a yellow tentacle which I would say has never appeared before and those gorgeous new armors including purple. The set itself is rather messy... but that is good because I will not have a reason to keep it built together so I will be able to use its bricks in something better. Did you call? I dislike any pice that mixes a transparent thing with a non-transparent bit in the same mold. This would have been far more awesome and useful if the sparks were a separate piece from the handle.

I'd rather like they used boxes. But yes, I've been trying that. To be honest, it would be nicer if pieces that are not supposed to bend weren't made of rubber or were made of the kind that always goes back to its original shape. Also got Furno. I think thornraxxx and Furno are the weakest sets of the first wave. Thornraxxx is good for parts, but even so, the ultra strange bone color makes it less good at that. Furno is barely good for parts, but his fire printed torso is probably the main compelling point.
  8. What I like about this is that LEGO are the ones paying for the awful move that was to turn LEGO about licenses instead of about quality and good set design. Thanks to how they turned the game into this, then Krap-O can now compete by just getting better licenses than LEGO.
  9. 4 marines already. The marine's bags have something in them (the way they look father in one side than in other) that makes it easy to recognize them at a distance even. This is a good thing.

So, I got thornraxxx and ... the wings were bended :(

I think we would have heard by now. And also there would be a villain with some protagonism in the story that did not appear as set.

Not sure if absurdly good photography. Or unpublished CGI pic.

You are lucky in my opinion. The trans red devastators are my least favorite ones. The trans red is just too dark and what you have left is a mixed color torso that does not look that good. The solid silver devastator is quite handsome in comparison. This set is ok for the price.

Whatever , I gave up on windows-only games a long while ago. But I like the robot designs a lot so I'll vote. Hopefully I'll be a millionaire by the time the set becomes purchasable and will be able to get it.
  15. I just bought a brush of the sort school kids use in their art projects. It is good enough and not as thin as make up brushes. I try to move around things (ie: swap their placement) at least once a week, seems to improve things out.
  16. I would reduce the stereotypical boyish stuff from the other themes, like flick fire missiles and move it to second priority over the sets being aesthetically pleasant. More variety would not hurt either, not every single thing that happens in a set has to involve a fight. We could have pet stores in City, or exploration in dinosaur jungles or space without involving killing dinosaurs or aliens once in a while. It would not kill anyone if minifigs between friends and other themes were compatible either...
  17. LEGO is currently too license-reliant, and girls and boys are being segregated from each other with the themes. Prices per piece are so high that construction is becoming second or third priority bellow gimmicks and advertising. Does not sound golden.
  18. I hope they both die a shameful death. LEGO needs to redo friends with real minifigs. And we need less licensed themes not more. Plus horses not compatible with old headgear is terrible. Villain out, peace. PS: Mattel+Megabloks is a match made in heaven. Megabloks would be the Krap-o to Mattel's Hasbro. Let awful toy companies continuing joining together.
  19. I really dislike those black bones standing from his arm pits to waist. I know that it is for structural reasons, but still. I think that coming up with a mod that fixes the structural problem with better aesthetics is going to be a loong project.
  20. This is why I like text reviews a lot more than video ones. Thank you.
  21. Saving up sets in MINT state for a while until you open them is fun. I do that in Christmas so I have to expect for some time. When a set may not last long on shelves and you really need a chance to buy it, you end up buying it. But then there is not enough time to enjoy the set, or you'd like to wait for a specific date. It is good to wait, if you can, it adds up on the expectation. Of course, don't wait years.

In the whole wave, I think there is no set I don't plan to get. Even if it is just for the pieces. Hmnn, maybe Nex. Voltix is looking better in that video than in the previous, my impression has improved.

Bulk is like the hottest thing ever. I am in love with Bulk. However, I am kind of bummed the transparent sticks are green and not trans orange, I am not sure why I thought they were going to be orange.

I guess it is mostly because I paid the most attention to when we look at it laterally and without driver. I think that as long as Speeda stays in the bike it looks better.
