The lightning is playing a factor. This reminds me of when breakout Rocka looked great in fair pics but he turned out not to look great. It was that the lightning was making gun metal look darker. The same is currently happening to evo at the moment, also the shield in stormer and Surge's wings. The blue in aquagon is also darker in the pictures than it really is..

It seems black whathisname crow has purple wings and shells, they looked dark blue in the first pic and torso has lightning detailing. Definitely buying that guy twice for bricks. I got a hidden agenda. White bird thing, the packaging has the torso in the usual position but the display model is backwards. Same happened to red lion. As usual not even the stand builders care about constraction sets. No point in buying the white bird set if all you want is the trans blue. Aquagon is going to be less expensive.

They can give him a backstory and whatever. But what makes it a place holder is that it has no own design. It is basically a Black Phantom palette swap. Doesn't help that there were already 50 villains with black phantom's face.

The Fabuland universe surely got edgier.

I like the printed torsos because they give these guys a personality different than HF's.

Dragon bolt: wish all the wings were swords instead of the lightning pieces in the back wings. It is a bit small. Blue is a turn off. The reason it is hardly ever used is that it is a lame color. There, I said it. It looks all right and I like it, but could have been much better. Surge is probably the best hero of the year, mostly because the wings actually give him a personality beyond "I have a visor". Three white sets. Stormer and Frost Beast look similar for some reason and even have the same pose in the bag art. Aquagon is useful for bricks. Jet Rocka is underwhelming. Let us put another non-XL rocka in the same year, but also add a white technic constraction that seems strange. With the set size and box instead of bag, they could have put an actual titan, or made the "jet" more like Aero Booster. Or made it an "exo-hero". Instead we got this. The only HF set I am looking forward this year is Dragon Bolt. Second constraction set is the Chima black crow because of the parts. Otherwise I might focus on system themes this year ...

I think he is the cheapest set with trans blue small shells and black fists are not so bad either.

Wish they used bley. White is not too neutral. It does not even look good with Rocka and there are so few heroes that could actually use the Jet. The design itself is allright, but has a bit more holes than I would have liked. Will have to buy it because of the green shells and ball launcher, unfortunately. And I am not entirely sure if that system Canopy was released in trans green before. I think I will rob the idea and try making my own version of a "Jet".

If we go by Huw's comments then there should be few changes between what he saw in the fair and the old image.

I fear it would be a bit too easy to retailer employees to intercept most of the 5000 figs before people even get at the store. Possibly weighting will work wonders.

I am not saying TLG are doing anything wrong. It is not a knockoff of Thundercats, but the "cues" TLG are taking are very obvious, and copyright law is currently very messed up. Don't forget we live in a world in which Apple can get products banned because of rounded corners.

Duplicates. I have purchased 3 Core Hunters already, because he is a good source for black shells. And the only color for cool MoCs is black, right? I didn't buy a stormer, too much white. Two reapas, I might buy a third one soon. For some reason I find the trans neon green hoses more important than the trans shells. Two Thornraxx (None that is staying built). This seems to be 2012's scorpio. It is such a set that I dislike, but I had no idea how much I use these bricks in black: If I could find another one in a store, I might get it too. Two bulks, gun metal shell goodness. I think that if given the chance to buy more sets for bricks, I will still get a scorpio, they are warming the shelves and is still by far the best bang for buck. Next in my list are more reap and core hunter. I wish this thing: existed in gunmetal.

I am looking at Megatron's legs. I can see an uglified bone and an uglified shell.

The "Community" forum is up there. They completely ripped off HF's build system. They just replaced the smooth ultra useful shells with already-texturized stuff to save up on costs.

Just saying that LEGO already had an action figure theme with the twist in which the bad guy wins big. Do it once and it is very edgy, do it twice and it starts to look repetitive.

Like when Sixth Sense's director kept using the same plot twist in all of his movies until we were all tired about it.

My problem with Bulk is the Jonny Bravo / Bluto proportions.
