These have to be the cutest Sci-Fi MOCs I've ever seen. The Pinchbot Landingbot really made me laugh. I also love the fact that your mothership has pinch arms as well. Nothing is more effective against enemy capital ships than good ole fashioned pinching Btw, what is that cluster of green orbs on the front of the mother ship? From the top view, they look like eyes, but I'm unsure...

Thanks, JayDuck. You make a good point about it being kind of like a Vulture. But "Mad Dog" sounds more aggressive, like it will charge right into the middle of a battle without fear. But then again, it is a fire support mech, so charging into the battlefield like a front-line unit may not be such a good idea... Thanks. I like PPCs, but ithey run too hot when used in conjunction with the LRMs. And the Mad Dog is just too light to mount an adequate amount of heatsinks. I do plan to make a Timberwolf (Mad Cat) in the future because I won't have to design new legs. I can just use the same ones from my Mad Dog! Although I am tempted to make a Summoner (Thor) as my next project.

Nice attempt for a first MOC, but I feel it needs a more defined shape. Right now, it has too many things sticking out.

Nice MOC, but I think its too small to be effective as a standard fighter. It's primary role should be as an escape pod or scout. Also, I think it should be slightly longer- right now, you don't have any room for an engine. BTW, am I the only one who thinks this ship looks kind of like a whale? Anyways, I like this MOC, a nice change--of-pace from the giant vessels we normally see.

I really like this! It is even better than the TLG version because yours don't have the technic holes along the fuselage. The lines on this ship is great. I also love the seating arrangement in the cockpit, kind of a like an Apache helicopter, which I was a big fan of as a child. BTW, your current version is definately better than the old version with the hexagonal cockpit. Look forward to seeing more of your fleet!

I really like this. I like it even more knowing you had to adhere to a piece count limit. I can never built anything with that kind of restriction!

Thanks, SNobleJr. I admit, the mech's arms were an after thought. I had spent so much time on the legs that I didn't have the energy to pay attention to the arms. I'll try to think of a better idea but right now, I'm drawing a blank The hinge plates may be a good idea to reinforce the toes, but I feel they may compromise the feets' appearance. But right now, the toes are so fragile, they fall off every time I pick the mech up! I'm quite familiar with the Vulture C config but I probably won't build one, because I don't like the way it looks. Thanks. I agree, the arm looks kind of weird but I can't come up with a better solution right now. Thanks, LT. Mad Dog sounds so much cooler than Vulture! It just sounds more menancing! Thanks. I also have fond memories of MW2. And MW3. And MW4. Yes, I used to be a huge Battletech nerd.

Since I began building LEGO this January, all I have been making were city vehicles, mostly fire trucks. But after a while, I got bored with making the same thing over and over again, so I decided to make something out of my comfort zone. Because I was a Battletech fan when I was a child, I decided to build one of the most recognizable mechs out there- the Mad Dog. The Mad Dog, also known as the Vulture, is a 60-ton mech whose main role is long range fire support. On each side of the cockpit is an LRM (Long Range Missle) rack. The machine is also armed with a an array of medium pulse lasers. This is my first ever Sci-Fi MOC and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. The biggest flaw of the model are the feet, particulary the toes. They are so fragile that a slight breeze will cause them to sever. If anyone has a better way of making mech feet, feel free to share!

In my childhood, I was huge fan of WW2 aircraft, so this brings back memories. Everything here is perfectly executed, and the transparent struct is a great solution to maintaining the plane's balance. I didn't even notice the strut was there until you mentioned it.
  10. Tiger, I gotta say, these tiles greaty improve the overall look of your town. I love the checked floors inside your bank and post office!

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I had to disassemble my first AND second truck to make this, mainly because it requires so many red tiles (close to 100). But I plan to rebuild my disassembled trucks in the near future.

So I built one of these this week... (www.westlickingfire.org) It's a mid-mount tower ladder and has several advantages over rear-mount ladders. First, because the ladder does not have to go over the cab's roof, the overall height of the truck is shorter. Also, since the bucket does not hang over the windshield, visibility for firefighters is improved. But most importantly, a mid-mount truck is more manuvuerable than a rear-mount, because the center of gravity is lower. Inspired by Steven Asbury. Deck gun based on design by Matt Jacobsen. The biggest challenge is getting the proportions right. In real-life, these things are super long with prominent rear overhangs. To tell you the truth, they are kind of ugly. It was difficult to make my model look as realistic as possible, but also make it look better than the ones in real-life.

This is a good first attempt, legofan! Personally, I think the building is too narrow to be this tall. A shorter and wider one will look more realistic. Also, the building is too flat- try adding some details that stick out, such as window sills and awnings.

Thanks, prateek. Just curious, how big did you think they were?

Such a powerful looking model! And very realistic too! How long did it take you to build this?
