  1. A wonderful Cathedral MOC, much better than any official LEGO Architecture sets! It's even better to realise than it had been modelled in LDD and then was built with real bricks! I particulary like the usage of spears.
  2. If this is true, the number 13 is really an unlucky one...( Though I doubt it will have a number, to add it to non'licensed ones. Target audiences are different for Simpsons and simply minifigs, right? So if it will be like team GB there's nothing to worry about, and even if not, everybody can simply say he's a superstitious person not to add the 13th series to the collection and simply waiting for 14th!

Great collection of animals and the shield wall is fine! I also like the usage of hooks and legs (though the last one is a quite common example). I'm waiting for new chapters!

It's great to see such a topic! I'm interested in columns too, though I try to make ones from my real LEGO pieces. Therefore I can't use 'teeth' pieces for leaves since I cannot afford them now). Look at my big black composite capital on Flickr.)) Your design of the capital is interesting, but I think that you should add... something to the top. Not sure about the English word for it, see wikipedia capitals pic: on the Corinthian one, it's the border above the volutes where there is a little flower piece on that example. Without it the column is not finished in my opinion. And I'd reverce the dish pieces (depicting volutes) so that the stud wouldn't be seen.

The story, the figs and the MOCs are still great! I like CM white heads used like busts here.
  6. It's interesting. The figs do not look licensed, so they'll fit into the large CMF collection. I hope we'll get Panda Suit and new Mermaid, and maybe the new wizard (Vitruvius, the one voiced by Morgan Freeman). Though I'm not sure whether they will include main characters - these should be in bigger sets since they're going to produce 'real' Lego Movie sets...

Both roof and stone wall detailings are amazing! I like realistic textures in LEGO!
  8. I've seen The Brick testament but it's always interesting to find something new connected with this! Waiting for your new projects then)
  9. The part one is here, but since that topic was named 'from Ausustus to Commodus'... You can see them all in my Flickr set! Please look at my other sets with lots of interesting minifigs there! Some of the new ones: 21 Septimius Severus by GZakky, on Flickr 24 Caracalla by GZakky, on Flickr 26 Elagabalus by GZakky, on Flickr Enjoy! I'm waiting for your comments!
  10. I was always interested in Biblical buildings depicted in LEGO! I remember that the books of the Old Testament contain detailed descriptions of the ritual objects and even proper sizes of buildings. I'm waiting for more reconstructions from you! About the colours - the new LDD extended surely has lots of bricks in all the colours.
  11. Well, as a fan of CMF I'll make a prediction again. Maybe some of my thoughts won't be my own, with lots of repeats, but the ones I think are going to appear are: 1) Female pirate OR pirate sailor - we have the captain, we need the crew! An obvious fig, since POTC and Pirates-2009 are quite old now 2) Lion Suit Guy - as a mascot - why not? 3) Lady with a new dress part (a popular guess, based on Boudon's sketch) 4) Western Sheriff (simply to reuse Lone Ranger's parts) 5) Renaissance man with a beret (like the Bagpiper) and maybe a little white sculpture\bust or a picture. 7) A cook 8) Male Doctor 9) Asian Fisherman (with Sensei Wu's hat) 10) Realistic Astronaut 11) Retro firefighter or fire chief - re-usage of Constable's great helmet 12) Holiday man (with colourful version of Sad Clown's hat) 13) Magician (Classic Castle one, probably with Gandalf's beard) 14) Female Dancer 15) Any Sports figure, probably the Basketball player 16) Any Russian Character, I've read the rules but not only I want this character, I believe we'll get something like it sometimes! My old entries were partly successfull... and partly were not.
  12. I've just picked the last missing S1 figure for full 160 basic set of 10 series. And when I was ready to open it I saw that Review to get even more excited about Series 11! ) Great Review! Can't wait to afford the full set as quickly as it's possible there! My favourite from the set is the Bavarian Girl, but the Constable and the Tiki Warrior are amazing, too! The whole set will be a great addition for my collection, probably only Scientist and Lady Robot are dull in my opinion.
  13. Female Musketeer sounds... strange. About the first list, I think that S11 Female Robot belongs only to S6 Clockwork Robot (look at the design), and S1 robot has S8 enemy as only pair.

The throne with these dragon-heads looks great!
  15. I tried to build smaller versions of the capitals (look through my Flickr), and also buildings with them, but the main idea of this MOC was to build the capital as detailed as it's possible using parts from my LEGO collection Being mostly a LEGO collector, I have no parts to build any big MOC even with smaller capitals now, and bricklinking is a kind of problem for me not only because of money, but also because it takes more than a month to get anything from Europe\US here where I live. Thanks for viewing!
  16. This is my third try to build this architectyral detail with LEGO bricks, and now it's large and detailed! Unfortunately, I have proper elements only in black colour. This is honestly only the capital (stand is added only to place it somewhere), and more honestly, only half of it.) But in my opinion it's enough to compare it with the real one and to find some interesting building techniques here! Large Composite Column Capital (Black) - 8 Comparison by GZakky, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/83780048@N06/sets/72157634410810442/with/9173867101/ Please visit my Flickr photostream to find more interesting MOCs and minifigs!
  17. That's strange. There are even no s10 figs (I cannot find them in the first catalogue). They tried to keep S10 secret in the first volume, and they do so with s11 in this case.
  18. He should have yellow hands (collectible minifigs from the trailer are yellow), and this one looks licensed. I'm still waiting for the pics of Tiki Warrior and the Bavarian girl...
  19. I still have no bricks for MOCs, and here goes another bunch of my purist custom figs! They are portraits of first eighteen emperors of Ancient Rome. Although I used pictures of different statues, there's surely no historical accuracy with outfits or hair colors... They were made just for fun, after buying my second S9 Roman Emperor minifig in local store. LEGO calls him Roman Emperor, well? Here are some: 1 Augustus by GZakky, on Flickr 3 Caligula by GZakky, on Flickr 5 Nero by GZakky, on Flickr 9 Vespasian by GZakky, on Flickr 14 Hadrian by GZakky, on Flickr 16 Marcus Aurelius by GZakky, on Flickr 18 Commodus by GZakky, on Flickr You can find them all on my Flickr page in their set. Please visit my other sets to find some interesting LEGO Minifigs and Architectural designs: http://www.flickr.co...780048@N06/sets I'm waiting for comments here and on Flickr!
  20. I always try to depict classical architectural details in LEGO, and sometimes it seems nearly impossible to me. I mean not simplified versions like two slopes for pediment and colums with no real capitals etc., but really detailed versions. Here are my examples: 1 by GZakky, on Flickr Triumphal Arch by GZakky, on Flickr It will be nice to try to build something with Renaissance dome maybe (even in microscale), or simply a window with lots of architectural details!
  21. Thanks for the great review! The set is also beautiful, but the amount of dust is frightening me - I still don't have a place to keep my Imperial Flagship set clear of it! So I won't buy it even not because of the price, but because of the size. Though now I'm going to get Saruman with proper outfit since he's one of my favourite characters in the book and in movie series.
  22. I never disassemble sets from my collection or my best MOCs, so now I have nearly no parts for serious models. This is a small part of Forbidden Palace Architecture (China), made only to demonstrate some techniques and details. Forbidden Palace Architecture by GZakky, on Flickr With figs by GZakky, on Flickr As it should look as a part of big MOC by GZakky, on Flickr Roof detail by GZakky, on Flickr Here you can see my first Chinese-styled MOC. Finally! Great chapters, lots of Friend animals there.) The difference between them is well pictured.
  24. A very interesting review, and a good set with a nice colour and figs selestion. Not sure about the amount of stickers, though the pics are interesting.
