  1. I've posted these on a Russian LUG site Doublebricks two months ago. There was a lot of text about each figure, but since I haven't enough time to translate it into English, there are only figs and their names: Russian Tsar Ivan the Terrible. Based on the famous picture, the gold piece is supposed to be golden outfit, not the breastplate! This LEGO head pattern looks very similar to Ivan's facial reconstruction, that's why I've bought it especially to make the fig! The Dwarven King (with Ivan's hat ) Greenpeace activist (here he's protecting some endangered bats) The executioneer, inspired by Ninjago sets)) Elite Dwarven Soldier The Wild Barbarian (Aztec's green head patter usage!! ) Dwarven Chemical Weapons soldier The Capricorn I'm waiting for comments!

Louise - the Killer of the Kings This legendary lady is known to be dangerous, yet she had been a mistress of endless kings, princes, counts and even sultans. Most of them were then assassinated, but new and new rulers of the world are ready to take a chance - maybe she won't finish her mission this time and would stay with her new master? But she surely will do as she usually does, and add one more crown to her large collection of souvenirs!
  3. Your brother's MOC is simply, though I like using of the helm and the color scheme itself. And your own flame and smoke, especially usage of a spider like flame, is wonderful! Even a tiny MOC can be interesting.
  4. Mr Freeze certainly could be an abstract ice superhero or a snowman. But... It's certainly a joke, can you even imagine this... fig?

Thank you for your comments! I've thought to build them in tan or light gray... but it requires that core part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48723 And it's very expensive in light gray color, and do not exist in white or tan. But I'm looking forward to make a golden one!

I've built this MOC for demonstrating an example of usage of columns with capitals invented by me (more about these columns, Flickr). But you can find here some interesting decoration ideas. Unfortunately it is not a full arch, it has no back wall, however can look at the construction of the gate itself! It uses some SNOT and not so simply as one can think looking at the title picture... The double-headed eagle at the top of the arch is a well-known imperial symbol, but it doesn't refer to any specific country - neither Russia, nor Holy Roman Empire, etc. It's an sbstract arch! Sorry for the quality of photos, but I prefer buying bricks, not expensive photo cameras! Details inside: You can find more photos on this model's page on Russian LUG website: http://www.doublebrick.ru/mocs/zelenyy-zaktan/triumfalnaya-arka Thanks for looking, and I'm waiting for your comments!
  7. Some great figs and many great ideas here! I'm fond of making purist customs, too, and sometimes these ones can be even more ingenious than figs with decals and special parts. Just like some of your ones.
  8. Edit: the game has no prizes, however I've created a new entry below! I haven't read the whole topic - and not sure if we'll se the ninth series until the month of the release (new LEGO policies, eh...) But I'm a fan of collectible minifigs, so let it be: 1. Man\fisherman in traditional Chinese\Asian suit - re-use of Sensei Wu's headgear. 2. The Pig Suit Guy!! 3. Good Knight - a classic one, maybe with new helmet\armor 4. Medieval scientist - another use for Shakesperean Actor's collar, black suit and some tools. Maybe we'll get another figure with that piece, the Beefeater, for example. 5. Basketball player - we need a new one at last. 6. Ancient Greek\Roman civilian 7. Realistic Astronaut 8. Robinson Crusoe-like character 9. A classic Good Wizard 10. A judge with a wig 11. Woman in an old-style dress 12. SWAT soldier with a shield 13. A pop-singer (male) 14. Green monster (abstract one)) 15. A skeleton 16. Russian Man with Bofur's new headgear (ushanka)
  9. Gallery examples look wonderful, but I can't believe... I was trying to make a photorealistic picture of some sample LDD MOCs and figs, but they are quite ugly, with black dots near parts edges. They look realistic if they are small, but larger ones are totally spoiled. What's the matter? I haven't changed anything in the settings. I've only opened my files in POV-Ray myself, because it does not open automatically after conventing! I tried to set highest level of detail, but nothing has changed. An example of my old MOC rendered: What should I do to get a photorealistic image?
  10. 11. Museum of History by Darkblane - 2 points 10. Black Cat Cabaret by RoxYourBlox - 1 point 14. Perfume Shop by alex54 - 1 point 29. The Tan Townhouse by Kristel - 1 point There are so many great entries with large and beautisul buildings - it's hard to choose...)
  11. 7. Sebeus I - 2 points 15. Oky - 2 points 18. L@go - 1 point
  12. Entry 10 - 2 points Entry 12 - 3 points
  13. I was looking forward to this part and finally! First 'set' in the new line - and definetly the greatest one in the whole project) but about minifigs - in my opinion, there are too much of them for an 'official-like' set. Though they all are wonderful! And the building itself... It's quite big for LEGO, too, in my opinion (at last it looks so at the first photo). Though it's a 'mini' view, like LEGO Hogwarts, it looks too tall. Maybe. it's because there are no catle sets with such price tag to compare... But I wish there will be an official Minash Tirith set, as large as your one.

Wow! I always wondered if it will look realistic of you make the entire wall using new masonry bricks - and, however it's very simply. it looks great! Now I want to order a ton of them for building an "average" modern house)
  15. -GZ- replied to elmas's post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great project and great result, I always like seeing large LEGO castles, but this one is huge! And since it's real, great stained-dlass windows and roof windows (design of these architectural parts is amazing!)
  16. I think the most realistic set of three pictured ones is Witch King one; it's well-balanced for LEGO and certainly great for figure collectors. The scene is famous and epic, too. Overall, the whole project is great, I'm looking forward to your new pictures and ideas!

Nice video about Orc Forge, it's definetly a fun set of working orcs (though I've bought Helm's Deep at last). The video reminds me of old silent films, it should be black-and white))

I've voted for this ship in that Russian contest and hoped it'd won... Too bad it haven't, but it's still a great MOC!
  19. Many years ago I tried to build a minifig-scale LEGO pig, and now there's a great mold; we even have the bear. This time I want to get a LEGO donkey! Probably like one in POTC videogame, or smaller one, like goats or pigs... A lion would be great, too, but I think they can produce it only for a specifiс african theme, or maybe for a Zoo set... And maybe we need a re-edition of an Elephant? We have only old OldGray ones, and they are very expensive on BL now. What's about a new mold, or only a new colour? Hope we'll get one as Oliphaunt for future LOTR sets... So there is my list: 1. A Donkey! 2. A Lion 3. A new Elephant 4. A wild boar 5. Well, maybe a wolf.
  20. A Pirate Captain! I was right in the Guessing Thread! At last, new pirate figure with new great torso for XVII-XVIII centuries MOCs! His face is something like Evil Dvarf's one, but I like the golden cutlass piece, though I hate this skull, even golden print!
  21. -GZ- replied to -GZ-'s post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks! I haven't thought about pillars yet, but Town Hall solution seems interesting, though it may be quite expensive for such a small detail... I want to order at last 4 grey columns, though I don't know what to do with them so far.
  22. -GZ- posted a post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Here is the first version. Please read that topic to learn about this project. The new version is smaller, but in my opinion more accurate than the previous one. I haven't enough grey or brown pieces, and there are no yellow version of brown connector from this model, so these columns are "wooden". There were painted gold, because of Ruler's economy. After hundreds of years, the paint have gone off, that's why some pieces are wooden-brown here! If you can read in russian, here is a link to my MOC on a Russian site Doublebrick. Don't use translators, my Russian texts are always... artistic styled, so Google Translator can only make a funny nonsence out of it in English.))
  23. I had tried to guess awaiting figures even before series 6 was revealed. Some of my thoughts have already become true: obvious figures like Knight with new sword, or Roman Legionary! Here are my new gueesings, both about ones that I consider to be possible and ones I just want to have! Maybe nothing new, I haven't read the whole topic - but: 1. Pirate. Seriously, no Pirates in traditional products (even no POTC sets this year!) - and no one in Collectinle Minifigs Series so far! We need at last two pirate-themed figures and I guess we'll get one of them this year: new Pirate Captain or just Pirate Sailor. 2. Good knight, new one, since there are no Kingdoms sets except for Joust; maybe new helmet, or sword, or nothing new except ptintings. 3. A King! Without old chrome crown, but maybe with a new one, like Ocean King (maybe the same piece with other hair colour). But I personally want a new "imperial" crown, not the Castle battle version with neck protector! The best variant is something like Russian or British crown. 4. A skeleton, many possible solutions here! 5. Roman Centurion! Like the Legionary, but with plunage piece, maybe golden equipment and a cape. 6. Pig Suit Man, not my idea but I really want to get it! 7. Actor - maybe in Hamlet's outfit with a skull, or in another Animal suit, again many variatinos are possible! 8. Satue - abstract one. 9. Evil Dark Lord - where is Sauron for new LOTR theme? Really, not him, but maybe some collective image of the villain? 10. Arabian\Eastern dancer, nothing to say here. 11. A judge! With a wig and a gavel in his hand! 12. A burglar, something like a simply city figure. 13. New Greek\Roman God , again "renamed" by LEGO. There was Neptune\Poseidon (as Ocean King), maybe we'll got Zeus or Artemis (sort of) 14. New space figure, maybe realistic astronaut at last? 15. New sports figure, we'll certainly get this. 16. Any Russian figure, maybe a Boyar or a Cossack, or any musician with traditional instrument. Seriosly, there were many "national" figures in previous series! Hope we'll get a Russian in CMF.
  24. -GZ- replied to zero1312's post in a topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
There are some funny and very nice ideas! Great purist customs, great choosing of face expressions and minifig parts! I really like them all. Maybe only ones with mechanical arms and legs look scary)
  25. -GZ- replied to Quichybo's post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've just found the topic and I can say that the donkey fig was invented by me: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40868&view=findpost&p=737672 The first post says that it was made by unknown "someone".) Also, I've built the much better version of a donkey, but haven't posted it here on EB, only on Russian site: http://www.doublebrick.ru/mocs/zelenyi-zaktan/sancho-pansa
