  1. Thanks a lot, guys! As promised, a little more about the UAS and a new spoiler: An important part of the new site, the custom accessories store will feature all of the Classic UAS Products (such as the most popular hooded cloak and the classic trench coat), as well as some items that were previously unavailable for purchase (the advanced trench coat and the vibrosword are making a return) and very soon, we are launching an entirely new line of resin cast and fabric accessories. Here's a little preview of our classic items:

Hello, my European friends! It’s been a while since I posted a topic, and, frankly speaking, I am not sure if this is the right forum. If not, don't hesitate to let me know. The reason for this thread is my personal website, the UAS. After more than 4 months of designing on my PC and more than a month of server-side tweaks and fixes, I am proud to say that the Unknown Artist Studio will finally be online on the 24th of May, at midnight GMT. Making the UAS has been a very interesting experience for me and I’d like to share the result with you. You see, I intend the UAS to become more than just a bLog in time; I’d like it to be a site that encourages people to try new things, a site that inspires. That, I believe, will only be possible through the refining process of my visitors’ - your feedback. As the UAS premiere approaches, every day I shall post a new teaser picture along with some general info on the site, so stay tuned. In the meanwhile, please enjoy my new custom sniper minifig, featuring my latest invention in the fabric accessories field – the military-style trench coat. Thanks for reading, comments and criticism welcomed, as always. flickr
  3. Wow, I love all those details! I agree with Asuka, great job on the windows - very creative of you. Excellent use of the SNOT techniques on the logo. I also like the fact that the doors open to reveal the cleverly done interior, I wonder if a Technic fig would fit inside. All in all, really cool MOC!
  4. Ummm, I prefer what one may call 'Lego Plastic Surgery', decals: But I guess it's not important if that lady still has a moustache and a beard on the back of her head... >:-)
  5. I am usually very sceptical about the desings of official sets, but, I must admit, 2007 is going to be a great year - finally my words have been heard - TLC has gone minifig scale! I adore the Falcon - and now the Cafe Corner, which is simply awesome! Though I am not a huge city fan, I'll have to get it. :-D We really should get buying - so that they don't give up making these great sets!
  6. Yess! Thanks, guys! Would be funny if this last ticket of mine would win... ;)
  7. PM sent. Just hope I'm not too late...
  8. It should have been 'забавно'. Agzindan cikani kulagin duysun! :-P Oui, je parle Francais! Vous
  9. Hello My Fellow Eurobrickers! :-D I am really excited about this thread, since it is my first 'MOCing' topic! I hope that you will like my newest minifig MOC, but before that, I would like to share with you a little information about another project of mine, the UAS: At last, I would like to announce the premiere of my personal website - The Unknown Artist's Studio - which will take place this Haloween at 00:00 GMT. Though I do not expect it to be fully functional till that time, I am proud to say that the most anticipated part of the site - the shop (unfortunately, only for US customers so far) will be fully operational. I would also like to thank all of you who have been sending me your wonderful pm's and e-mails about the UAS - I really appreciate it! Those of you who would like to place an order from outside of the US, please do not hesitate to send me an old-fashioned 'e-mail' order... ;-) Now, to my newest custom. Jolee Bindo from the greatest RPG of all times: Star Wars: Kinights of the Old Republic. Now, many of you might wonder why I chose him to be the fist custom of my KotOR Project, but the answer is a really simple one - he's just one of my favorite characters in the game. "Let's play with the old man's head..." If you play the game as it's meant to be played (making every sidequest, preferably light-sided), you'll learn a lot about Jolee's past. His story is far more interesting that of, let's say, Mission's or Bastila's. And at least he hasn't got any relatives we have to deal with (Bastila's mother, Carth's son, Mission's brother). ;) Sometimes he is funny, sometimes tracically serious, but he has a personality - something most PC game characters lack these days. Though you can finish the game without him in your party, it's a great loss. For those of you who did not play the game, here're a few reference images: Jolee Bindo | Face Concept | Concept Drawing You have waited long enough, so I present to you... JOLEE BINDO! Link to the B-Shelf Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=138630 This one is a hybrid custom, since I used both water slide decals and sticker paper to achieve satisfactory look and durability (decals just don't make good boots and stickers don't look good on the face). A product of what can be called 'extreme customization', I tried to make my Jolee fig as detailed as possible - the only part of his clothing that I omitted were he shoulder pads - since they have no functionality and the minifigs have narrow shoulders. Also, to get the level of detail I wanted, I would have to make them separate stickers - and stickers over fabric just wouldn't have the homogenous overall of the robe I aimed for. The decals were made in Adobe Illustrator, and all are very simple shapes. I really enjoyed making Jolee's face design - and I like how it turned out. I had to layer decals (white and transparent to make his goatee the correct color - but that took 3 sets of decals to achieve... ;) I have to admit, the overall custom does not feature Jolee's exact outfit from the game - it's got some details form the concepts I posted (for example, the arm decals). The robes were the first thing I designed - though I had to change a couple of things to make the hoodie look realistic. I would like to thank Jeff (Blasterman) for the belt ideas, Justin (Scorpion) for inspiration on the face decals, Emily (Recluce) for doing the B-Fest shopping for me, Ben (Blind-Bricks) for being the first one to view the pictures and Zach (BabyJawa) for suggesting that KotOR contest on MCN, which gave me the funal push of inspiration! Well, I guess I have typed enough. It's your turn, my friends - let me know what you think. Comments, criticism, suggestions and questions are more than welcomed! ~Victor (Custom originally posted on MCN at 10/03/2006 - 16:41, re-posted on FBTB at 04/10/2006 - 9:39)

Now, tell me that I am a particularly sceptical sound of the 80's, but the AT-ST is nowhere near the minifig scale. For example, the walker head's roof is 2 meters wide at the rear, 2 meters long and 1.25 meters wide at the front (I have the real life prop blueprints for RotJ, you see *sweet* ), meaning that in 1 meter = 3 studs scale (one of the most conveniet minifig scales), the roof should have been 6 studs wide at the rear, 6 studs long and approximately 3 studs wide at the front. Pretty small, eh? Definately MUCH smaller than the new official model. Nitpicking apart, I think that the new minifig is great and is well worth the 30$ and all those bley pieces. :-P Battle packs - you shouldn't be so hard on them - they're just an excuse to let us have minifigs in large quantities! ;) Will buy. A few. Y-Wing fighter - I'd say a good set, worth its price. Has certain negative sides, but still a definate buy. Grevious fighter. Does a prequel second - rate fighter deserve this much attention? Not so sure. There are quite a few nice sleek Dark Bley pieces over there - and the price is OK. Why not buy one? The landing craft - you should merely see it as a larger and more expensive minifig pack, which gives us somevery nice white parts, as hinckley wrote. So, my friends, I think that 2007 is not going to be a bad year. Not a bad year at all... X-D

Wow! So many original stories! Let me write a little about my nick, though I am not sure if it will be interesting or not... :-$ Though my first experience with computer was when I was 4 or 5 (Windows 2, I guess), I only felt the need for a nickname sometime around '96-'97, when I started playing the computer games (the older guys will remember - Cosmo, Wolfenstein - those were the days!) and decided to use SuperCat7 - I like cats, username 'cat' is sometimes too short or taken, Supercat is usually taken too, so I added a ramdom digit behind it - 7. I was a kid back then, and this nickname proved to be VERY sticky and stayed with me till the late 2002 - and this is what my B-Shelf is still called. :-P Unknown Artist, however, has a deeper meaning for me. I think this definition best expresses my position in the human society – Unknown Artist is roughly what I really am. I try to make everything I do look like art, not the average, boring job. An Artist’s work is not just paint, notes on a piece of paper, characters printed in a book or pieces of cloth. It is Work of Art, and Art always has its own soul, perhaps even a part of its creator’s soul, his or her spirit, which will remain behind long after its creator is gone. Do not get me wrong: I do not seek immortality – for it is a pointless struggle – but simply try not to waste the short time that has been given to me in this world. I could call myself ‘The Great Pretender’ from that song by Freddie Mercury, but it has the little taint of lie which I don’t like. You see, to the question ‘What do you want in life?’ I cannot give a better answer than to cite a wonderful movie ‘Once Upon a Time in Mexico’ by saying ‘A good choice.’ I’m the Unknown Artist – so simple and not. :-D
  12. All of the entries were absolutely stunning, and it's a pity I couldn't vote for them all, though 'my' finalist is a Blind-Brick and his Nucleo! Go Go Go Ben! *y*
  13. Well, in Anthony's gallery, you see some BrickForge products - RedBean & Armothe's new store. You can check out and buy their products here. They are certainly planning to give us the chance to make more historical minifigs, have a look at the new products: I hope to get a fair amount of their arms soon, so if you guys are interested, I can try making a 'picture review'. When it comes to historically-accurate themes, I don't think that TLC is really that bad - I mean, they certainly could make more of them, but they have released the Vikings line lately - perhaps we can hope to see some more...
  14. Glad the time isn't pressing. You'll wait - unless you buy me a brand new villa at Beverly Hills with swimming pool, sauna and a Ferrarri in the garage! Do it or be damned forever! :-P
