Classic. I never had that set when I was a kid. I chose instead to spend my money on Eldorado Fortress that year. I've since bought a lot of bulk collections and can't get enough of the BSB. I think there's currently 8 complete ones plus the key parts for a couple more. The cherry on top is one I found on eBay with a very poor description and in the wrong category. A first release, sealed in the box , and completely shrink wrapped since new. No shelf wear, moisture damage or fading. Thanks for the review.

Big thanks to the organisers for this years event. the new format of selling session tickets worked great. In previous years it's been a very slow and sometimes 2 hr line to get in but with the 90 minute timed sessions we spent about 10 minutes in a 100m long line , volunteers walked along the line checking tickets and we were ushered inside in no time at all right on time. The kids had a great time as usual and there were some great displays to keep them all occupied. See you all there next year. Hopefully one day I'll have the room to unpack my collection and attend as exibihiter

Sweeeeeet!!!! Hell yes we want instructions. I saw these while doing a quick browse a couple weeks ago and managed to find the trucks on Lego.com. I didn't have LDD installed though so I couldn't download.You've excelled with these models. I'll definately build at least one of each for my town. Only 1 thing left to say. Do the 5590 whirl and wheel super truck!!!!

Here's one I did a while ago. There's a couple of extra hull peices, along with an extra mast and some small tweaks to keep all the masts lined up at the right hieght. Theres also a 9V battery box hidden under one of the grey hatches in the deck which powers 2 working lanterns on the stern of the ship behind the wheel. And it's been converted to an Imperial ship instead.

Thats cool. I especially like the little steamroller, thats a really good design that packs a lot of detail into a tiny package.

I've got a fair bit of some of the "mid Range " space stuff. Blacktron, Ice planet, Should be some Space Police. What sort of Pirate figures have you got? I've got plenty of generic pirates but if you have Imperial soldiers or any brown vest pirates. I'm starting to get hooked on Western and Ninja stuff too if you have any interesting bits from those themes.

Leave the kid alone. You don't know his circumstances. Not everyone has the means for larg lego collections. It's the Internet. If you don't want stuff copied or stolen then don't put it up. I steal ideas off MocPages and Brickshelf all the time. I see something I really like so I build it and put it in my towns.

V-LI-06B Sometimes even Lego minifigs need to dig holes. Sometimes thy need to dig holes REAL fast. That's when you call on............ DIGROD Like all good hotrods the DIGROD is low, wide and fat. It's got a supercharged engine for fast digging and is painted flat black with a couple of minor chrome highlights. It's got big fat deep dish wheels and a chopped roof. When there's fast digging to be done, the DIGROD will be there.

You've got some great sets in there at really good prices. If I hadn't spent thousands (literally) on Lego in the last month I'd be crawling all over some of that Pirate, Castle and Western stuff.

Don't think this is limited purely to the Star Wars forum. This kind of negativaty towards Lego's designs and decisions happens all over this board, and all other Lego boards. There's the crybaby group that complains of the discontinuation of the 9V train line. There's the sookee la-la's who think that the glory years of Bionicle are well and truly over. Then you have the mommy's boys who need to see psychiatrists to deal with how to handle the old grey/new gray/bley debacle. Unfortunately when you introduce adults to a kids toy, they tend to be a lot more judgemental than the target audience and find problems with everything. And for the teary eyes who take offence to me calling Lego a toy (there will be at least 1), then this topic wiil point you to the Patent with the appropriate words highlighted.

Nice review ( although I'm pretty sure Eldorado Fortress has 8 minifigs, making this set no 4 in the minifig count.) I gave it a 5. The number of islanders and vegetation pieces comes in very handy for land based scenarios. I've got 3 copies of this set, 1 of them costing me less than 2Euro's from an ebay auction in Scotland. Along with Forbidden Island it's easily one of the most common and affordable pirate sets to be found on he second hand market.

Looks to me like the whole thing is Duplo, apart from the eyes. This will probably stop the real serious collectors from buying, and 250 quid seems a bit much. Maybe wait and if the auction ends with no bids then send an offer to the buyer of 125pounds. If you're the only person close by that shows interest then you might get lucky.

I do appreciate the time you put in, and I'm not accusing you of being dishonest. Slightly hypocritical if anything. Sometimes there's a lot of petty comments made about small errors and discrepancies around here by people who make small errors themselves. The thing that really gets my goat is stuff like this That sound like a rule to me, especially since it was rule number one. -Sinner I'm a member on 20 odd forums ranging from motorbikes, cars, DIY, powertools, electrical, hunting and of course Lego. I've never seen a Moderator edit another members post to add personal comments on any of those other forums, yet it seems to happen quite a bit here. As far as I'm concerned it's not good forum ettiquette. Forums are a wonderful source of information, and the best ones make everyone feel equal with a common interest. I'm not too concerened about votes (unlike Imperialshadows who seems to also be a predictor of alternate endings) , these competitions are a wonderful source of ideas and inspiration, not only for the adults but also the younger members who may just be starting out.

No idea on price but a conservative estimate of 500 kilograms in the household would be a good enogh guess. Mostly complte classic town sets and a lot of Pirate and Castle including around 25 pirate ships which seem to push average prices up a bit. Lot's of 12 and 9 v trains and a bunch of technic and powered stuff. The 2 year old in the house has about $500 worth of Duplo and there's plenty of MISB sets squirelled away in cupboards throughout our 2 properties.
