Need Help Building 4x4
automatic71 replied to ez3141's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMadoca built a 4x4 Truck and in his instructions you'll find how to achieve a driven front suspension. Scale is similar to 42029. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101665 https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/117021167471864977943/albums/6071915916443025921

Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Bus
automatic71 replied to Sheepo's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingGreat MOC! Aside the fact, that the Beetle and the Bus did NOT have a common chassis (Bus has a unibody shell!), in this case it's a good idea to share the same underpinnings and just swap the bodies. However, another great Sheepo build.

Efferman's Custom Parts

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingRegarding McPherson parts: The three-pin Lego hub part fits, but it's veeery tight, diameter of the bore should be increased a bit and depth maybe reduced by 0.5 mm. Currently there is no free wheel spin unless you treat everything with sandpaper. The "Ball" for the lower suspension arm is a bit too small, generating play and wobble. Spring and corresponding upper spring part fit perfectly

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNo, but real life rims have a different offset, not exacly center like Lego rims. But anyway, your part is what I was looking for, so I will order two of them :-)

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingLooks good. Is it possible to move the "Ball" more inside the rim? Maybe one stud more should improve kingpin inclination angle.

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPerfect. Steering arm is supposed to be "self made" with the cross axle hole, right? Thanks for your effort, very simpe design - nice.

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingSame dimension as the 42000 hub should be fine. Then it can be used with all existing six holes rims. The dark grey part with three connectors should fit. The "tightness" of the printed part will eliminate the wobble of the original hub.

Efferman's Custom Parts
automatic71 replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi efferman, a part I'd really want to see was a McPherson wheel hub. Basically a 42000 front wheel hub, but instead of the upper pivot hole there shoud be the opportunity to attach a spring. Something like a combination of and or at least an anchor point for the spring. To get proper kingpin inclination, the spring should be set up with some angle. If you're bored, maybe have a try. This would be a fine part.
