I'm a fan of the Adventurers Desert theme, so I'd like to see the sarcophagus and lid. Peter

[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD
5988 - Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins - Theme: Adventurers (Desert) Missing parts in LDD: Sarcophagus and lid. Calabar has made some excellent brick-built sarcophagi for me, so now the facade looks much better The printed pieces are mostly blank On the very back of the ruins, the door frame and turntable on which the skeleton and jewel sit, as well as the magnets. The car's roof and windshield have been replaced The figures, of course, do not have the correct printing. 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins in LDD Peter

Bricklink questions
You can always contact the seller before ordering the figure, and ask for details about its condition. Many sellers are happy to send photos of the actual item also. Then you can order it with much more confidence. Peter

Bricklink questions
One trick I use both on Bricklink and eBay is to write the seller with a question about the item. The response can tell a lot about the seller. A quick, forthright response is usually a good sign, and certainly no response is a clue to move on to another seller. Often I will find two Bricklink sellers with about the same prices, and ask both so I can compare the responses. Peter

Forum clock
I have my settings set to: (GMT - 5:00 hours) Eastern Time (US & Canada), Bogata, Lima and Auto Correct DST is checked (or ticked, if you prefer). However, the EB time is one hour ahead of my actual time. When I View New Posts, the newest posts are an hour ahead of my actual time. I've tried setting Auto Correct DST off, and adjusting it with the "Is daylight saving time in effect?" checkbox, but the EB time remains one hour ahead. I do have cookies enabled for EB, so that's not it. No need to lose any sleep over it though. It just bugs me because I noticed it If you have a list of things to look into, put it below the "extremely low priority" items. Peter

Wanted - Plastic display tray from 5988
I recently purchased Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins, complete with box and instructions, on eBay for a song. It's nice to be on the winning side of eBay once in awhile! The only thing missing is the clear plastic tray that some of the special parts were displayed in, so they could be seen through the window on the box. These photos from ZO6's excellent review show what I'm trying to describe: The full review is here, definitely worth a read: ZO6's Review of 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins Does anyone have this tray? Or, any advice on how or where to find one? Thanks for your help! Peter

Help - online instructions missing a page
Could some kind, helpful soul please scan this page for me? Both the Lego and Peeron PDFs have the same problem. How appropriate that unlucky page 13 should be bad. :pir-skull: I will be happy to insert the good scan into the PDF and send the corrected file to Lego and Peeron. For that, the higher resolution the scan, the better. Thanks for your help! Peter

LEGO Store Grab Bags
The Burlington store had a box full of grab bags yesterday. Half of them were all bricks, the other half were small bricks, plates and greeblies. Peter

Modifying your LDD
Thanks Scorpion and superkalle! You just saved me endless frustration No wonder I couldn't find it... to me it's part of a palm tree, not a Technic part. Peter Thanks Bojan for the information on how LDD works! [EDIT] How strange - my reply to Bojan was done separately after replying to Scorpion and superkalle, but it ended up in the same post. Peter

Modifying your LDD
There is one feature I'd love to see Lego - or Bojan - improve. Some of the Bricks buttons on the left side contain hundreds of parts, even with Hide Colors selected. The button just to the left of the Minifig button is the worst offender. With Bojan's list, it has over 375 pieces in the list. I've often spent several minutes searching for a particular part, and it gets very frustrating. It would be great if the largest Bricks categories could be split up somehow. A lookup by part number would help also. I'm still looking for the four-pronged top for a palm tree: I'm sure it's there, since the rest of the palm parts are there, but darned if I can find it. Thanks, Eric. We go first thing in the morning during the week. It's nice having the stores to ourselves! Peter

Boston area Lego stores
Thanks, LegoGalactus. I'm north of Boston, so the Braintree store is the farthest away. Hopefully I'll be able to hit all three later this week or next week. Peter

Modifying your LDD
Bojan is doing the right thing. Ignoring the legal issues, it's not a good idea to annoy Lego's software folks. It would take them about an hour to add code to the program to check the files to make sure they're Lego's official versions, and replace them if they're not. Since LDD looks online when it starts, and has to run online to check prices or buy, it would be virtually impossible to circumvent such a check. Want to run offline instead, and buy the pieces from BL? Lego can fix that too, so the program won't run without an internet connection. I believe Lego will be willing to work with Bojan. Just the fact that he's willing to contact them and tell them what he's doing, rather than simply modifying the software, will get it off to a good start. Lego apparently values their AFOL customers, and this would be another way of supporting them. Peter

Boston area Lego stores
Has anyone been to all three of the Boston area Lego stores, in Burlington, Natick and Braintree? Are there any differences between them as far as size, selection, PAB wall etc? I've been to the Burlington store, but not the other two. Thanks! Peter

Pyramid Moc
I love the UFO working on the pyramid . You should balance that pyramid on a clear 2x2, so it looks like the UFO is setting the pyramid down in one piece. After all, if the aliens are that superhuman, they'd do it all in one piece, not in little blocks Peter

AFOLs contribute a little under 5% of LEGO sales
Sounds interesting, but as a data-oriented guy (20+ years in IT management), I have to wonder how NPD came up with that statistic. I've bought many sets, for myself and for kids, but nobody has ever asked me whether they're for me or the kids. So how does TLG come up with this number? Peter

Okay, I won't send any copies. Being a programmer myself, I don't envy you going through all those pieces and figuring out the valid colors I certainly appreciate all the hard work you're doing for us! Peter

eBay madness
Here's a good one that's been around off and on for a couple of months: 5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise baseplate for $64.95 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19...em=270538762936 I bought the entire set on eBay, missing a few easily replaced pieces, for less than $20. Peter

Yes, there are many new parts also. I just meant that I don't know what parts are specific to the Castle theme. Peter
